  1. So, with ATI's HD4850 and 512 megs of ram, I can pull about 45 FPS on a zombie/traps MM with everything blaring in Granville running at
    19x10 resolution
    FSAA 2x
Shadow Mode: Shadow maps at Medium Quality
    Environmental Reflections at Medium
    Water Effects at High
    Ambient Occlusion off
    Particle Physics Off
    World Texture Quality High
    Character Texture Quality High
    World Detail at 1
    Character Detail at 1/2
    Max Particle count at 1/2
    anisotropic 2x
    texture crispness smooth
    shader quality high
    depth of field off
    bloom regular
    desaturation enabled

    Interesting notes:
When I do enable Ambient Occlusion, it leaves visual artifacts everywhere. (like when you stare at a bright light and then look away, how the afterimage stays burned in and overlays everything you look at? That.)
Also, when I enable Depth of Field, two fixed fuzzy bands appear on the screen that have nothing to do with distance.

Neither of these happens when I play in Boot Camp.
  2. I'm curious as to what graphics settings you use. I have the i7 quad core with 8 gigs of ram (so the monitor is 256x144 and the vid card has 512 megs) and I *struggle* finding good settings. I think I've finally settled on running at 19x10 with most everything set at a middle setting. If I don't have either FSAA or Ambient Occlusion on, I get about 15FPS. If I turn AO on to the lowest settings, I get 12FPS.

Strangely, if I turn on FSAA 2x, I get 40-50FPS.

This wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't get such different results in Bootcamp. With a Win7 setup, I can run at 25x14 with AO turned on to middle settings and most other settings a lot higher.

Perhaps this marks me a traitor, but when I play WoW with everything just about maxed out (graphically), I always stay above 60fps in 25mans on the Mac client. (I haven't downloaded the windows client as the mac client suits my purpose rather well.)

    bleh... rambling.

So, yeah... why is yours glassy?

And could it be related to why my macbook runs more smoothly than my i7?
  3. This isn't the first time I've left the game for an extended period of time, and he's never done anything with the base. I don't think he even uses the base teleporters.
I was out for 69 days, and his last logon with that toon was 8 days ago, so, even when he is logging on, he's not following "optimal" payment schedule, nor even earning prestige at this point, as far as I can tell. (Regarding concerns that we didn't have enough to pay for upkeep, we've got about 200k saved, and rent was only 800.)

Mostly I'm just upset that I can't screw around with base architecture whenever I want.
  4. I tried searching through the forums a bit but couldn't find out if it's possible to recover my SG from someone.
Insofar as I can tell, this guy hasn't done anything detrimental to it, in my absence (other than never pay base upkeep), but he's at the top rank now, and plays often enough that I'll never get in from the 45-day rule.

Further, he and I are *never* on at the same time. (yes, there are only two people in the sg... this guy was a random invite, that I just forgot about, and then took a hiatus from the game. boom, he's in charge.)

So... short of him quitting the SG, is it possible to be repromoted to top rank? I haven't asked, as it's a somewhat delicate situation, (I doubt it'd happen, but I shouldn't like for him to do something retributive.)

Again, the whole "just ask him to promote you" thing isn't viable as we're never on at the same time.

hrm... As this is actually a villain group, it behooves me to ask, if he simply promotes me to equal rank with him, can I demote or boot him out? <dry washes hands with sinister glances cast about into the darkness>
  5. Is there anyone that knows enough LUA to get Citybinder to incorporate them?
  6. Do either of Sands of Mu or the Ghost Slaying Axe interact with a Brute's Fury? (My initial fiddling implies they don't, but that could be bad testing on my part.)
