I'm curious about this topic as well. I've only recently returned after having left the game roughly about 4 months after release. I have since got my level 32 dm/regen out of mothballs and now am up to level 38.

I do find, though, that the levelling curve solo seems a bit steep. I am probably doing something wrong, I have no issues with accepting that fact. If I play solo, set at +1/ with bosses, I am finding levelling to be a bit of a grind. I don't stare at the xp circle constantly and just enjoy the game, but it does get a bit disheartening when I can do 4 or 5 door missions in a row fighting reds, yellow,oranges and some purps only to look up and see that I've only progressed about 2 bubbles. After a few hours of play. That would put my per level rate at about 8 hrs plus, solo. That, to me, seems a bit slow.

I do progress faster when in a group, and I have joined an SG, but my server seems fairly low populated so I still end up soloing quite a bit. Is there something that I can do given my AT and power choices and difficulty setting to speed up the levelling a bit?

Open to all suggestions.

I'm sure this may have been brought up before, but I guess I'm a tool when it comes to narrowing my thoughts down to a search criteria...so here goes..


Why is it that ever time there is even a slight patch to this game that the launcher needs to go through a 20 min check/update of all the install files? This gets a bit annoying after awhile. Especially so since I sometimes play this on more than 3 different PC's.

Even on my main PC, which is a gaming lappy with a SSD, this process seems to take a long time. Actually, seems to not even really matter if it's an SSD or a mechanical hard drive, it still pretty much takes 15 minutes--give or take. I know this seems like a small point, and in all seriousness it is a small point, but I'm just curious why this is the only game that ever requires me to validate every single file after a patch/update? No other game that I play do I have to wait for 15-20 mins to logon after a weekly or regular patch.

So it makes me think, is there possibly a switch somewhere that I can turn off to tell it not to do this after a patch? Or is this just something we coh players live with?

I find my SS/Inv toon to be quite weak as well. I've always wanted a "classic" Superman type toon but find levelling a SS/Inv to be such a chore that I always end up walking away from it. So I started a new one determined to make this one be the one that makes it. So far, I'm at level 9...

I've read all the great suggestions to wait for Rage. Ok, sounds good...problem is that I find levelling in this game to be very, very slow. Now before you break out the flame throwers, I fully accept the fact that I am doing something wrong most likely. So please no " go play wow" or something comments. I played this game for a few months at launch and only recently came back. My highest character is a level 33 DM/Regen that I pulled out of retirement, but like I mentioned I really want to build up a SS/Inv tank.

So....what could I do to level faster? What I currently do is just mostly solo door missions on default difficulty.

Any suggestions would be highly welcome.
