_Castle_, since Freezing Rain was switched with the Controller version of the power can we make sure that no other storm/ powers are like that? There is no way for us to test powers like LS and Tornado for damage.

In light of _Castle_'s pronouncement that Clear Mind was to be a quick fix not a long term buff (and I will completely ignore the supposition that this is why it needs to have a 4 second, could be four hours, too darn long activation). There are TWO possible defender powers that could be just copied over to the empaths' Clear Mind power: Clarity (which would admittedly look funny for an empathy defender to use) and Increase Density. I vote for increase density. I don't think the empaths would mind the subtle changes in the attributes of the powers if it were to reduce the activation time substantially. The usual artistic application of the purple effect instead of the kinetic orange-yellow shouldn't take too much adaptation. In my amateur opinion, this could be done with a patch before a complete Issue of revisions were released. Yay? Nay?

I love how empathy/ went from a preemptive buff set to a reactive one post ED. And apparently it was always meant to work that way.. -
You are preventing someone from attacking. How would you define "soft control"?

Soft control is accomplished with the help of debuffs. The same argument for -speed can be applied to -acc, it is also a form of soft control.

This kind of bugs me. It basically makes damage debuff powers very ineffective in pvp, with crits, aim and buildup powers almost completely negating the debuff. They basically only work against other squishies that don't have massive damage buffs. -
So defeners do 18% more damage but not LS and Tornado? What's left, Gale??

Not true. Defenders do slightly more damage, unless the controllers Containment is in effect. Knockback is not a Debuff, and Controllers have the same modifier as Defenders for this.

First, thank you _Castle_ for taking the time to review the list.
Can you elaborate on what is "slightly more damage"? Can we get the modifier number for that? We know controllers get 25% more for status effects duration (and crits) and that blasters do 50% with their attacks.
Knockback is not a debuff? There are two primary defenders sets dedicated to that secondary effect. I would call that a debuff. -
I don't actually have a problem with the change to knockback, but if you are looking at it, is it possible to change the animation on it?
Maybe have a whirlwind around you without your character spinning around like a madman. And can we get rid of the sound? -
Thats pretty much what it is (a damage mutiplier). It's like another separate set of damage enhancments (+dmg). You sum all the -res powers together and thats you multiplier, it has its own cap too saparated from the damage cap.

This is the root of the problem. This binary nature results in a race for stacking different powers just to get the upper hand (including calling for nerfs). This has to be broken somehow and made into more interesting and tactical mechanics or pvp zones are set to be empty.
Perception - Instead of just making it a factor of how far you are from the target there are many more ways this can be incorporated into the surroundings. Make it so you get -preception if you sneak in from behind somehow. -preception if you are near the walls of a building, hava a cealing above you, under a shadow etc. The target should be alert, but requiring that a defender be in constant move just so he doesn't get one-shot is really not a fun system.
AoE defence should be lowered down. If someone suspects that someone is watching him he should be able to do something about it. A Stalker should need to be very quick in order to perform the AS, if he stays near a target for too long he should be seen. They can make AS animation quicker if this is too hard.
I don't see why a Stalker needs to take Stealth+Hide to be viable in pvp. Stealth should be enough for him to do what the AT was designed for. My suggestion for +preception powers is that maybe they should pulse (like Carnie bosses phaseshift) and let the stalker identify when the target has +preception power on. -

Another thing, I love when these stalkers tell us "your in a pvp zone, JUST KEEP MOVING!" Hogwash. Moving thru zone has pitfalls, ledges, and other obstacles that ppl get stuck on. Sometimes thats all a stalker needs to pull off an AS. Not to mention ppl get stuck in animations that would give stalkers a window of opportunity. So do give me that "keep moving" crap.

I have been on many team when someone says "We need more damage". Sometimes its even true.
You might not see it in broadcast becuase finding damage is not that hard.. there are plenty of scrappers and blasters out there, much more than defenders.. -

I don't know about that, I can easily take aggro off a tank after the mob is completely aggroed on him.
