It's a heaping cup of Freem! Love it! The lighting really ups the dynamics of this one--great work!
  2. All are great as usual, but "The Ray" is really cool!

My daughter is a dancer and I always loved the t-shirt they sold at her studio: "If dance were any tougher they'd have to call it football."

Interesting origin story. Good job on capturing the "feel" of a willpower hero, as well as the idea that the obsessiveness that "powers" her has eclipsed all other emotions in her life.

Shadowdancer really needs a few years of intensive therapy, but what hero doesn't? Maybe someday she'll discover that it isn't revenge that drives her, but a deep-seated desire to rescue the child who lost her family and her life in an instant. Saving a child in similar straights might symbolically allow her to finally move past the event that effectively "killed" her and allow her to truly begin living again.

Of course, she might not be Shadowdancer any more after that!

Not to steal from this well written vignette (I really dug it too) but such a story in which Batman chases after a group of thieves who have killed a young boy's parents in order to steal their car is one of the finest Batman stories ever written (Denny O'Neil penned it).

I agree that she's really trying to rescue her parents and herself more than simply revenge them (I think this is a key to understanding a character like this).

I also agree that capturing a Willpower character is beautifully done here--she is a fully realized individual behind the mask, not simply a cipher for revenge. I'd love to see the story suggested by Slickriptide, it would be a killer.
  5. Very Nice. I've added her to my watchlist.
  6. Once more dear friends unto the breach:

Very cool Crest--really a great project. I hope you scored well on it.
  9. Of course, it would be cool to have guest judges like Dirtwolf, LJ, TA, DarkJedi, Aerones, Juggy and others. They could pick 1st, and 2nd place and asking nicely for one of them to pick a winner from a group of entries, would be pretty neat. We might not know who till after all the entries were in. If they felt like donating the time for a quick judging that would be very cool. That way, we get a variety of takes and we can't start tailoring to a particular judge's built in likes or dislikes. In short, we'd have to bring our best game every time.

    Just a thought.
  10. Thanks--I really do enjoy creating characters in this engine, so, I do a lot of it.
  11. Yes, much Birthday jocularity is wished for you.
  12. You'll be pleased to know a Fatwa has been issued for your failure to complete the story--more story, NOW!

    Interesting work--I'm enjoying it.
  13. Wasn't a complaint, just an observation--I like the challenge, that's why I do it prize or no prize.
  14. Here's a simple effort based on your description:

    Young Electric Mutant

Tried to make it look as homemade as possible.
  15. It's completely Freem! An evnious Gratz to you.
  16. It was a tough Palette--took me a bit to settle on an idea for it. That could be part of it too.

    why would you be discouraged?

I've not won one yet--but I'm in there slugging away at it.
  18. I think it would be a grand prize--Zenvious does great logo/banner.
  19. Honestly, I think cameos are part of what made early Marvel comics so much fun--yeah, they boosted sales and the like, but a quick guest shot by Hulk in the FF was a must have kind of thing.

In that spirit I think they could be great fun--with permission to use them of course.
  20. You can include Tiorse because she's hot, and as a Catholic girl she came out much too late.
