  1. I disabled all the programs listed and it is still crashing.
  2. Yes but only crashes one or the other client, never both at once. I also crash when single-boxing.
  3. There is no VM running, it is just a tray notification applet.
  4. I made the changes you suggested and the rest of BillZBubba's instructions. The game is still crashing. What else can I do?
  5. I can *make* it crash with a constructed mission but I also get crashes in the AE building, in regular missions and once even just on the loading screen before I was even in the game.
  6. I have narrowed down the game crash to only when encountering a large spawn or ambush.
I have tried a lot of things to fix this:
    New video driver
    Old video driver
using the -renderthreads 1 command line option
    Uninstalled my anti-virus
    checked for malware
tried both Vista and Windows7 with the same crash
tested my memory with the Windows7 memory tester without error
    uninstalled and re-installed COH

Here is my COH Helper and HijackThis log:

  7. If Malwarebytes doesn't find anything I recommend The Cleaner from http://www.moosoft.com with the same instructions.
  8. The game has been unstable for me since just before double-xp weekend. It has nothing to do with my computer, it's the game client that is buggy. I've /bug'd it a few times to no avail.

In case you're wondering it crashes on both WindowsVista SP2 and Windows7 RC. ATI HD4800 series video card with the latest drivers. Yes I tried the suggested video driver crash fix and no it didn't help because it isn't the video driver.

I am on a verge of having to find a new game to play and it makes me sad.
  9. dansul

    Random crashes

I meant, it didn't help with the crashes.
  10. dansul

    Random crashes

Yeah, it's on Freedom also and the "emergency maintenance" this morning didn't help.
  11. dansul

    Random crashes

I am getting random client crashes since yesterday. I am using Windows7 RC and an ATI video card. The program simply freezes and then windows tells me it has stopped responding and closes it. Is this related to double xp? The game is fairly unplayable in this state.
  12. hmm we have him beaten to almost 50% but he keeps getting better! There must be a way to beat him. Is it just brute force?
  13. Is there a way to stop him from spawning ambushes?
  14. I noticed that I took quite a bit less damage with the elec/elec brute vs the ss/stone brute. Fighting the lvl 54 turrets I was taking 7 damage/tick vs 37 damage/tic repectively. I had the granite armor on the stone brute which really negates all other armor while the elec overlaps a lot. So there's that.
