Because there are so many possibilities for animations, perhaps each powerset should get a new animation for this? If the Animators are feeling inspired perhaps each AT could get an animation too?

Not that each powerset/AT would be limited to those animations but say I have a SS Tanker that wants to whip out a Flame Sword or generate a Force Bubble.
