I was also having crash problems. I crashed every time I entered a mission. I also crashed trying to take the ferry. I tried different toons. I even created a level one toon and ran it to Grandville to see if that helped. Nothing did.

Then I got the latest NVidia drivers for my card. NO MORE CRASHES!!!!. So. all of you having crash problems. Try updating drivers. Might help.
