Also, in reguards to Centinull: Kheldians, Nictus included, can and do live just fine outside a human host. Even after possessing them. However, they can only live for around 10 years (Nictus likely much longer) thus being their motivation for sticking with a host as much as possible.

nictus can survive unbound for 5 years. khelds can survive for 10 years unbound. bound to a host they are both effectively immortal. the nictus have created a way to suck the life energy out of non-hosts to prolong their lives. this is what led to the split of the species as nictus embraced the life-draining and khelds did not.
  2. i would like to say thank you but i'm the one asking the stupid questions
  3. so the unconfirmed bottom line: inventions, evil kheld, and legends for i8?
  4. are you sure it's not the invention system?
  5. i'd much rather have more EATs than more power pools. it would be hard to work any more powers into my characters if new pools were introduced. just a question though, i'm not fimiliar with the legends system, when was it proposed and what does it entail?
  6. i know citadel's old name, but i remember the new villain group to start with a b as well. botbs is also based on something to do with oil a well if i'm not mistaken.
  7. no, the new threat is a new villain group. does anyone remember when the invention system was announced? well they described a new villain group, the bastion or batallion i think, which would be very resistant to normal damage powers but verry susceptible to crafted powers. mega-lame.

as far as wings in i8, i would not be surprised if both the costume piece and the EAT were included, there would be too much of an uproar if it were otherwise.

nictus in i8, not surprising at all, i've thought about it for a while myself and while it would be cool to have i'd much rather see coralax or avians. i might want to see bloods if i knew more about them. and villainous khelds already exist in the pb and shade arcs. they con at boss level and can be seen as 'white dwarves' and 'bright novas'. check them out, fun stuff to brawl against. i would not be surprised if the nictus was a warshade who was not confined by moral boundries and could use it's soul extraction abilities on living enemies instead of dead ones. the evil khelds, or the 'warbringers'? if they exist, i can't see being any different than standard peacebringers and would make a lame EAT in my oppinion.

Though, on the contrary, he did say that the Avilans nor the BotBS are going to be the next released EAT, so nevermind I guess.

    [/ QUOTE ]

so coralax and their slaves are next?
  9. just to clarify for myself:

    heroes:
    peacebringers
    warshades
    (the colalax slaves)
    heroic avians
    incarnates

    villains:
    blood of the black stream
    colalax
    villainous avians
    incarnates

it seems that villains are missing one to make it even. its this intentional or is another planned? ex: nictus?
  10. wait, what if like trench coats, some of the eATs are unlocked by total subscription time?
  11. i like the idea of not taunting off another taunter. but honestly i'm down for anything which makes it so tanks are pvp-able
  12. ugh, i want to state right now that i am joining the bandwagen here, the idea of limiting enhances to only specific areas makes me flat out mad. day in and day out i feel like tanks are becoming the red headed [censored] children of coh. punchvoke never worked in pvp untill they listened to the hordes of people crying and added it for i7. we were the only AT whose inherrent power did not work in pvp. aoe taunts such as invincibility as of now do not work in pvp. to my knowledge there are no plans from the devs to fix the issue. i would much rather see a more realistic solution from the devs, anything but making enhances required for a zone or three and completely worthless in pve where the majority of the game's population spends it's time.
  13. i read about it in a post that was a combination of whining about i7 taking so long and the invention system which *i hope* is slated for i8
  14. recluse is a mastermind but you'll never see him summon pets because he doesn't need to, he is arachnos. his incarnate powers, which likewise make states immortal and impervious, made him immortal and beefed up his minion capability. effectively any member of arachnos is his henchmen.

the devs said that they wanted to instill other ways of earning EATs such as task forces or strike forces, depending on your heroic or villainous inclination, and this can be taken as far as time spent on a character or badges earned. i'm personally hoping for an avian taskforce and the incarnates being unlocked by time spent.

the avians have begun animation, presumibly for I8. in addition there will be two varieities, one for heroes with feathered wings, and one for villains with bat-style wings.

i perceive the incarnates as an aquired template, you run a taskforce at level 20 or so, and from then on you unlock an additional 'incarnate power pool' where you choose a patron god and gain their powers, maybe the powers unlock at a different rate than the standard powers and can be gained on levels where one would gain enhancement slots, and inadition to those slots. think about it, the two incarnates we know of, baring the snake god stheno, were both standard archetypes. they were also good friends and drank from the fountain of youth together i beleive. states 'caught' zeus and rec caught perhaps hades or aries. the hades to make him evil, the aires to explain why he goes into melee so often. states can call lightning bolts because he became zeus afterall.
