Done. City of Heroes Test is 4.29gb, while City of Heroes Test_US is 4.31gb. The Test_US is newer and was just updated the other day.
-
Ok - I went ahead and installed the test server from the launcher. What I noticed afterward: under the applications folder there is now City of Heroes Test as well as City of Heroes Test_US which the launcher just downloaded and installed. Everything seems to be behaving. I imagine it would be ok to trash the other test now?
-
I no longer have that option. It just loads the launcher now. I'm going to try the install and hope it doesn't mess up what's already installed.
-
Cuppa,
It's named City of Heroes Test. It seems to find it, then once I hit ok it turns around and says unable to find. What a tease! Anything else that could be going on? -
Hi all. I downloaded and installed the new launcher. When it asks me to find the test app, I point it in the right direction, but it says it isn't the test app when I know it is. I also tried the search option with no luck. Any ideas how to help the launcher see that I've already installed the test server?

Quote:I'm able to play, but I get a *lot* of buggy behaviour. Some are little things (like the cursor doesn't change to the "hand" symbol when I hover over a door), and some are preventing me from finishing missions correctly.
BCing you
I'm also having the cursor issue. -
Thanks to Cuppa for clearing up the Plist thing, and to plainguy - I feel ya.

Ok, this is little confusing. Hopefully someone can clear this up. So I received a response back from support. They recommended I use the following lines on the live client:
<key>CiderGameOptions</key>
<string>-- cohupdater.exe -shaderCache 0</string>
Which I tried, but this didn't work. I also tried it on the test server with no luck. Now I see that someone has posted this string:
<key>CiderGameOptions</key>
<string>-- cohupdater.exe -test</string>
Which I guess you would use on the test server. Which one has anyone had luck with? -
I downloaded the Mac test server last night. After hitting "I Accept", I was able to log into the test server. I updated my ticket to reflect that.

Quote:Pans,They asked me to do the same thing.
One note is that I have bootcamp and loaded up CoH on the Windows 7 side as well. It worked just fine. Same equipment being used, just using windows drivers instead of the mac drivers. Both the old launcher and new launcher worked just fine. This is telling me it is an issue with the latest release and mac drivers and the ATI card.
I have bootcamp dual boot with Vista. I don't have City installed on Vista, although if this doesn't get resolved soon, I may bite the bullet. I'm currently downloading the Mac test server. Seems like some people have had success with that. -
Cuppa,
I left the game up and running. Still have the black screen after 20 minutes. I sent support my system profile this morning. Hopefully this gets resolved soon(ish). -
Quote:All of you with the Black Screen issue try starting CoH in Safe Mode and see if it makes a difference.
Cuppa,
Support suggested the same thing. I tried that and I get the same thing; all I can see is my cursor. I have to command+tab to get to the desktop. I sent support the update to the safe mode suggestion, awaiting their reply at this point. -
Quote:Everyone please check the troubleshooting guide in my signature to make sure you're running the newest build of CoH for Mac.
Also, are you all using Macs with ATI video? I didn't have any black-screen problem, but I have an nvidia-based Mac.
Hi Cuppa. I'm running the latest build, and I have a Radeon 5670. -
*raises hand* - I've submitted a ticket as well. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Quote:Hey PB,If it's only the first line that is working, it is possible that it is a return character issue in the text file? Have you tried jumbling up the order of the keybinds so numpad2 is first, and seeing if numpad2 works and numpad1 won't?
I first downloaded Open Office and saved the file in a .txt format. That seemed to do the trick, but I still couldn't get the first line to fire off. I just tried what you suggested and that did the trick. Thanks! -
The TextEdit program in Mac doesn't save the binds as a .txt file, but rather a .rtf file. I was planning on trying to find a program that can just save as a .txt(maybe Open Office)and see if that would do the trick.

Hi all,
I tried posting this in the Mac forum, but was directed to come over here and ask, so here goes.
I recently bought an iMac and currently play City on it. I needed to create a bind for my new Cold Dom Defender I just rolled up. I'm used to using binds in a Windows environment, so I figured it would be the same for the Mac. However, I've run into some trouble. This is the bind I've tried to load:
numpad1 "team_select 1$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad2 "team_select 2$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad3 "team_select 3$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad4 "team_select 4$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad5 "team_select 5$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad6 "team_select 6$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad7 "team_select 7$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad8 "team_select 8$$powexec_name ice shield"
shift+numpad1 "team_select 1$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad2 "team_select 2$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad3 "team_select 3$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad4 "team_select 4$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad5 "team_select 5$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad6 "team_select 6$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad7 "team_select 7$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad8 "team_select 8$$powexec_name glacial shield"
I used the TextEdit application in OS X to create the bind file. As you can see, I'd like to be able to just hit a number on my numpad and apply the shields. The bind says it's loaded, but then I get this error message when I try to use it:
Unknown command: team_select 2$$powexec_name ice shield
Any help would be greatly appreciated! -
Cuppa,
Thanks. I was thinking about trying that next. -
No one out there has any ideas what might be wrong?

Hi all,
I'm new to the Mac world. Just bought my iMac 21 inch a few months back. I'm used to using binds in the Windows environment, but it's not working in the Mac one.
I've followed the directions in the wonderful guide that is posted, but still can't get it to work. This bind is for my Cold Dom Defender, and this is what it looks like currently:
numpad1 "team_select 1$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad2 "team_select 2$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad3 "team_select 3$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad4 "team_select 4$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad5 "team_select 5$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad6 "team_select 6$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad7 "team_select 7$$powexec_name ice shield"
numpad8 "team_select 8$$powexec_name ice shield"
shift+numpad1 "team_select 1$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad2 "team_select 2$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad3 "team_select 3$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad4 "team_select 4$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad5 "team_select 5$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad6 "team_select 6$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad7 "team_select 7$$powexec_name glacial shield"
shift+numpad8 "team_select 8$$powexec_name glacial shield"
I used the TextEdit application in OS X to create the bind file. As you can see, I'd like to be able to just hit a number and apply the shields. The bind says it's loaded, but then I get this error message:
Unknown command: team_select 2$$powexec_name ice shield
Now for whatever reason, it will give the same error message for keys 3-8 as well, but not 1.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! -
I've got my Sonic/Sonic up to level 26 so far. I plan on writing my build out once I get to 41 or so. I have to say that(IMO) so far all the powers in Sonic/Sonic are good or great, except for maybe Repulsion Field(IMO). It all comes down to your playstyle and if you solo or team more. It's sad that this is the only guide as has been said, because if you've ever teamed with a higher level Sonic, they do shine(even though it's hard to tell sometimes with the unflashiness of the power sets).
