Awesome week 18!!!

Two runs first round with Bad Habit Saint running 2nd team...

Odacer on Optical Illusion (on MY team of course! ) Rocked! With Invis and Team TP we were able to ghost most missions and finished a personal best of 44:29!!!

BHS's team finished up much later just BARELY beating the 1 hour time limit by 13 seconds! He actually had us beaten the first 2 missions and it was neck and neck thru the 4 Radar stations!!!

All-in-all it was great fun!...

2nd round was a little tougher, we couldn't ghost as much and with 5 folks gathering xp we really didn't want to!

We were however able to finish just 3:39 OVER the 1 hour mark, but there were plenty of levels gained and a lot of nice salvage accumulated!...

One of these days we'll see those badges we're so furiously competing those time limits for....

...Ah week 18...

so little has gone on for so long!

NEVER did I expect this thing to continue for such a length of time!

However...

With the lack of the RARE at the end anymore...

I've definitly noticed the drop in interest/attendance...

Last week was only one round and the week before also...

BUT before it sets into a glorious blazing finale...

I'd like to take the time to thank a LOT of those that made it possible!!

First, ODACER... He and Cheeky (even tho Cheeky only occasionally *chirped* in the background) made things SO much more fun and exciting on Vent(The Vent so graciously supplied by the awsome Phalkon-better known in Grapevine as Cloud Jumper!) He ran a week for me when my machine was down and he ran second teams when the rosters were full enough,( Of course my son did also on his toon Bad Habit Saint ) he made the idea of running competeing teams at the same time incredibly easy! He also managed to snag the wickedly awsome Rikti Blade for my Scrapper! Thank you Odie!

To all those folks that teamed with me when we'd really never teamed before on anything... X-Funk, Jimmy Amp, Lemur Lad, Alloric, Sappho( all forms), Many JLer's who'd never before think of teaming with a Grape! Then those that hardly missed a chance, like Xan and all the ALTs! All the Newbees that had never even done a Task Force before were sure to try the Hess TF first!

I know over the weeks there have been many many more, but for me to remember them... well c'mon!... I AM the OLDEST player on Pinnacle ya know?

ANYways...

If I missed mentioning you it's not because you weren't a great player, it's because my memory's been fried long ago in the 70's sometime! But believe me when I say I APPRECIATE ALL those that I've teamed with and I've enjoyed your company immensely!

Tho I hope it's not the last run this week I do see it's popularity waning... So here's my "Cheers to you!" for all those that have!

Yet a controller was able to pull Burkholder off the robot before half of the team knew he was already at the door!

Just really weird how my day off is thursday and it's fallen on all these holidays so far...

OK...

someone once mentioned in PinnBadges that "Why the Hess" was eternal...

well that seems to be fading, there was a 1st round with a Defender heavy team and we really kicked butt! Finishing in 47:48 we ghosted when we could but we didn't really have the powers to do it so we ended up killing most of the baddies!

Round 2 never materialized and I don't think anyone noticed...

Since the end of the Rare recipes and the introduction of the merit system maybe the lure and appeal has declined...

Hess is only 15 merits but then again it's less than an hour...

We'll see what happens next thursday, in the meantime what the heck is the trick to the sewer trial? Since the "change" I haven't seen a successful completion yet! Is it such an AT oriented event that you need a specific team to complete it?

...sheesh!

Woke up Saturday with some kinda head/chest/lung infested kinda fever and cough... ugh... still had to fight thru Sat Sun Mon and Tues night at work with it!... Sux when you can't breathe, you cough an hack, yer head aches an feels like it's 50 pounds of lead... wind and rain and temps in the low 30s....

BUT!...

Today the sun's out, it's gotta be about 70-ish, an I can finally BREATHE!!! ...after a bottle of nyquil and many many Ibuprofin and breath-rite strips... I'm hittin the showers, shedding this sick-skin and on my way to the Cafe for a good 12 hours of game play!! This Hess tonite is SO on!!!

Oooooh boy...

I knew I'd catch it!.. On Vent with Jimmy for the 1st time, talkin it all up about how great that computer was that I was using at the Cafe...

How awsome their T1 connection was... how great it was playing the game on a much bigger screen and ZERO lag...

...

... all to have their T1 die after less than 10 minutes into the first mission!!!

Geez... I waited around for an hour and a half before I knew it wasn't coming back on and went home!

However, it was good to see that my team managed on without me ( IS that a good thing?!?!? lol ) and beat Odie's team! Den called me a few hours later to find out what happened and he informed me of the results...

I'd like to thank all those who've showed up and blasted Hess with me and I'll be back there in the Cafe again Thursday for more Hess Fest!

Week 12.... yes it's true!
12 weeks straight of Double Dose of Hess!
We ran one team 1st round and finished in 67 minutes...
Two teams 2nd round (where I started the 1st team and left Sapho in charge while I started up the second team.) We finished in 70 minutes... Sapho had a few wipes but finished just shortly after we did.
..Fashion Sense on his 50 namesake?!?!? But of course! Was good to see him back in "style" .. oh.. did I mention Funk was on the 1st run on one of his MANY accounts??

Gawd I love "name-dropping"!!...

..anyway Thank you all for taking part in yet another historic Hess TF Week 12!!

I'm looking into upgrading tomorrow so HOPEfully I'll be up-to-speed for the infamous week 13!!!!

Can't believe this has gone for 10 weeks straight now!

1st run was with 2 teams of 6 each, and Den's team beat me again.. by 10 minutes! he was done in 58 min we finished in 68...

Still...

pretty sure my zoning speeds slowed us down by at least 15 minutes!!

No Numina's for me this time.. tho someone grabbed one on the 1st round and both runs someone snagged the 7.5 LoTG!!

Only 1 run 2nd round, one team of 8.. nearly all of us were on Vent tho so it was definitly noisy!

Number nine... number nine... (Beatles flashback...)

ANYway...
The Ninth consecutive Double Dose of Hess went rather well tonight!...
Tho the 1st run was actually larger and quicker than the 2nd, the 1st round was with 2 teams of 6 each My team finally beat Fourth Elements team with a time of 60 min and 58 seconds! Their's was done in 68 min. upon exiting we were right in the middle of a Zombie spawn that had JUST started! So that was interesting...

First one I ran with my "new" Blaster Frio Caliente... only one bonehead move of the night... on the last mission we're all headed up the volcano to the door... we all know where the door is, problem is, I hadn't called in the mission yet... so, when we opened the door... it was TRICK!.. Huh?? OH YEAH!.. whattabonehead!...

2nd mission was less responsive we ended up running just 1 team of 8, Led it with my Tank, 4 controllers 2 scrappers and a WarShade... interesting combo but the insuing lag from ALL those controller grphx was just WAY too much for my inadequate machine! It was a complete lag-fest for me! We wrapped it up many deaths and 80 min 40 seconds later, only to exit to another Zombie spawn! Well... so I was told anyway, I couldn't make it outta the mission cuz my lag was so bad I couldn't turn around to exit in time!... sheesh!

Still overall number 9 went well! I appreciate everyone who went along for the ride and I hope to see more of you next Thursday!

XCELLENT 1st run!! My Team of 8 finished in just over 80 minutes!... (more than 3 defeats tho... =p) But 4th Elements 2nd team of 6 (my son) finished in about an hour if not sooner!... second run will start up in about 20 minutes, hope to see you there!(that's right! we had 2 teams running! a total of 14 folks were Hess'in...)

The NEW STARTING TIMES WILL BE 7 and 10 pm CENTRAL!!!

That way the first one will be at 8 pm East Coast the second one will be 8 pm West Coast!

think December of '04 was the last big hurrahs of "lvl 41 will bridge for wolf farming!" or "Need a tank for wolf herding mission!" or the Fav of mine "lfm lvl 50 fruit misson!"


( I had teamed with a veteran of the "dumpster" era and he told me when they hear/see my "YeeHaw!" they kept expecting their xp bar to jump! Was that you?)

It's old news but to most prolly new...

Back in the day...

We BETA users were offered a 3 day advance playing time versus those newcomers to the game...

During that 3 day head start, I made the "original" Bodenee after me... at 5'7"... In Outbreak meeting up with White Mage (an original founder of the Elite) He told me my "Bode" was too short... that to make him more like 8 feet tall... ok...

So I Deleted the one I made and remade him at nearly 8 ft tall... when I went to name him Bodenee it told me that name was already taken, well I knew no one took it but it would NOT let me name the "new" Bode Bodenee... so I named him Bodenee' ...

It wasn't untill after I made 50 and made my PeaceBringer that the bug had been fixed and I was able to name him Bodenee... so in actuality.. my "original" (main) is named Bodenee' ...

With the apostrophe!... and he will be running thru the flashback missions to acquire the invite to the Hess TF, THUS my original (main toon) will be running the Hess TF this Thursday!

But yes, awsome run, lots of folks "dinging" I'd like to think that there's at least three to four folks leveling each time we make that run! If you can get in it at the Minimum of 25 and be in a position to be UNsidekicked you can really rake in the XPeez!
