I enjoy playing the MA/Invul power sets very much. I think you will have a good time with that one if you like the combat up-close.
So now it comes down to picking a character theme and backrground story. I like bacrgrounds easy and to the point. Not a lot of drama, just the facts of the "how" and "why". I try and keep each answer down to one sentence if possible, but needing another to explain a detail is always good.
Questions I like to ask...
Who is this character before the hero?
How did the character become a hero?
Is there a reason for being a hero?
And if the paragraph needs meat I just add it in-between my main questions.
As far as themes go I like to pick things I'm interested in, or charactres from books, or ideas from documentaries, or whatever...
Example:
I like music, djs, and nightclub world
I like reading fiction about historical characters form as far back as the first Pharoahs to the inflencial people of the Cold War.
I love documentaries, all kinds: natural world, animals, insects, industrialist, inventors, engineering marvels, architecture, culture, etc...
So I just pick something I like, create an individual who would be involved in that field, and then invent a way for powers to manifest.
The names are the hardest because has already been taken, but every now and then you get lucky.
After all that I try and come up with a really creative costume that I will be happy to wear if I was a real hero. There is nothing worst that being a joke in tights.
I hope that helps but if you need a brainstorming buddy just reply back and i'll be checking this thread out.
