Seriously. An FF Defender should NEVER be faceplanting all the time. You know how Kitty Pryde is going in and out of walls all the time? That's what I do with my FFers (well, before I get Repulsion Field) I'm shooting, phasing out into my protective bubble, then phasing back in and shooting some more.

You can easily cut HALF the incoming damage before you get all the attack powers you need to make a solid attack chain. Then once you have a solid attack chain, you should be past the level for Repulsion Field. It's all golden from there.

It's obviously an Empath that had a minor in Literature. Of COURSE he would be useless.

There is nothing that I NEVER want to play. I haven't found a powerset yet that I don't enjoy.

Actually THIS is false. If my Scrapper goes to Azuria for a mission, or calls up a radio mission, they're identical to the missions my Defender gets. It's the SAME content, the SAME challenges. Both the Scrapper and the Defender are expected to be able to overcome them.

But both of them aren't expected to overcome the same mission on Invincible. Thinking that an FF/Elec can take on the same missions at the same settings as a Fire/WP scrapper is just silly.

There is a BOTTOM level that all characters are meant to survive, yes. But what you're talking about is just that, the BOTTOM level.

Should be an interesting project to solo an FF/Elec all the way... since, you know, Defenders are so "weak" solo.

Hey I told you, Defenders are weak, vulnerable and slow. Especially FF or Empathy solo.

Controllers are slow and tedious, but their control means they aren't vulnerable.

Go with FF/Archery for a weak combo. /Energy is bad, but the knockback would make things a bit easier solo :P

True story, my latest love affair right now is with my Fire/Regen scrapper... though ironically enough I probably should have made him WP, because I specced into Fighting and other pool powers to give me more damage/resistance to balance out the regen.
