Hi, thanks for the praise. I hate to do this to you but I have found out tonight (Monday) I cannot make this Friday as something has come up that I can't get out of.
I'm very sorry to have to pull out, I don't like saying I'm available then letting people down and if there was any other way around it I would be there.
Sorry about this and good luck on the raid and hopefully see you all on the next one. -
Guide link is here:-
Guide
I assume it is 8pm GMT which has been the norm for a while.
I should be around to offer Odins Son as Targeter if needed. It may be I'm not on much before 8pm though as I can'tusually get there too early due to work.
Hope to welcome you Heyman to the 100% success rate Hami Raid leader club -
I'm on less these days (well actively, maybe AFK standing around farming damage) but I can help if you need to get a team of 7 or 8.
-
Well done all. A good time tonight I think and a smooth raid too.
-
I'll be on for this raid offering usual services of Odins Son and War Rock.
-
Glad it all went well. Sorry I could not be there for it but will hopefully be back for the next one.
-
I have the Snaptooth mission which awards a badge. It was a mission available only at Christmas (I think) and the badge name escapes me but I'm sure those that want it know it.
I was proposing to be online this Wednesday 6th December at 8pm GMT and offer up this mission to any that want it.
I actually have the badge so there are a full 8 places available.
The mission door is in Pocket D and so I will be there at 8pm to see if there is any interest. -
Think I can do the 2nd, but won't be around for the 8th so you will need targeter cover for that 2nd one Mags.
-
Yep, they can spawn in about 4 places as I recall. Anywhere you see a few Achronos about there is a chance that the mob will contain a toxic spider. They do not tend to move though, unlike the ones in Recluse's Victory, so it is a matter of patrolling around in a circle for them.
-
I have the badge now, I ended up having to do it in small teams in Siren's Call, which was hard work.
Even so, if you see me on send an invite if you need the numbers to help spawns. If I'm on, most likely as either Odins Son or as Nuclear War. -
Well done all on another good raid. I made it about an hour and a half too, so a good time despite the Hami hit phase antics.
-
I'm not sure I can make it this Sunday so best having someone else lined up as targeter just in case.

Very smoothly done, nice to see the almost immediate response to request channel this time too, don't think anyone loitered when asked to move for each phase. I personally think evo spam and aoe squabbling should be kept out of the raid and out of the hive zone though, but other than that everything went fantastically and it was a very enjoyable raid. Big thanks to White for organising, Odin's for targetting, Arch and his PA team for a unique view of the raid and everyone else who showed up for making it happen.

And not forgetting Hammerfall as Hami tank and his heal team too. -
Should be around Thursday if you want me to target agains as 'Odins Son'. With work, will log same sort of time 6.30pm to 6.45pm GMT so don't worry if I'm not on early.

Splitting targeters: If you have 2 targeters going in 2 directions it may make the Tanks job a little hard as he needs to move to be opposite alot.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think that 1 targeter moving round will pass a stationary Hami tank at some point anyway. The only way this could be avoided if the targeter started next to the Hami tank and then moved around Hami to end up on the other side of the Hami tank. This would risk getting the AoE from Hami right at the start of the raid.
If you think about it, with 2 targeters moving north on either side of Hami meeting at the north point where the Hami tank is would actually mean the Hami tank would have to stay still during the mito clearing phase. -

Good idea in theory war but can get a little timeconsuming i would think.
The best way we've found was basically just to target anything close to you and just bash away thus not moving around too much.....I know it sounds quite hectic but actually very efficent.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure how having a plan of movement so everyone knows which direct we are going will be more time comsuming to be honest. The best way so far does not take into account trying this way and seems to loose momentum some times as people are trying to see where the mitos are when they keep blinking out due to lag.
I think a general plan will help overcome this. -
As you know I will be on as Odins Son as mito targeter on Mondays 16 Oct 7pm GMT Hami raid.
Costume
I will be wearing an all white costume without a cape.
Tactics
I have been thinking whether there is a way to tighten up the clearing phase and was thinking of trying the following on monday night:
As we attack from the south side of Hamidon, why not attack the Mitos starting from the south and word systematically around in a clockwise direction.
I Will start at the ground or lower level mitos first so people can see where we are starting from and then move higher up for the rest before moving say 1/8th clockwise. i.e. moving from due south to south west. At this point will move down and start at the lower level ones again before moving up.
All the time I will call on Request channel (in capitals so people can see it clearly, sorry if this offends anyone) when we are moving up, when we are moving around and the colour of the mito targeted.
I'm not sure if the mitos bunch up or divide to often to be quite so systematic about moving from ground to high to ground again, but any variations to this general plan could be told in request channel. I thought this would make it easier for people to orientate themselves in the zone especially with the lag and people disappearing. For instance, if I cann that we are at say north west, people will know where to head to and more importantly know where to move to after so the team stays together.
Future plans
Later on after we have tried this to see if it works, we may be able to develop this further with 2 targeters starting at the south side and one team moving clockwise and the other counter clockwise and meet at the north point. Could even make it a race !
Any issues?
Would be good to know if there are any other considerations though I have not thought off such as the PA dropping team or Hami tank issues.
I guess the Hami tank may have to start at the north end and work around clockwise to keep at the opposite end to the targeter and mito clearing team? other than this, nothing comes to mind straight away.
If this does work can it be added to the general Hami guide post please? -
Anyone up for continuing this hunt next Wednesday at 8pm GMT?
We are getting close now I think. -
Think I will do doing the cathedral of Pain trial using War Rock on Wednesday, but depending on how that goes, will be up for it Wednesday.
Maybe nearer 9pm with this trial rather than usual 8pm, have to see how it goes as I don't know how long that will take or what time we will kick it off. -
I think a good few of us still need the badge and so lets try again this Wednesday 9th.
-
I am up for this with Odins Son, I need them all still. Around Saturday evening

We do sometimes end up with more than one being targeted more due to lag/confusion/numbers and it has always worked out ok if both groups have sufficient numbers.
As regards as a targeter go, I was thinking of whether to make it easier the targeter wore say an all white costume with a white cape so they could be spotted easier.
This would be made even easier if everyone else had a black costume (and no cape) for the Hami raid. The targeter would then really stand out.
Personally, although this may sound like a good idea, I'm not sure the idea of an all black group of heros is a good idea, a bit sombre in my view, plus it may lead to people thinking that it is ok to wear capes in a raid.
Just float the idea though, in case people think there is merit in it. -
I'm up for weekly raids at the moment, although i think the long term interest may wane and then like hammer says, we could struggle to get the PA team or controllers required for the holding phase.
I do think it is worth a try though, and maybe stagger the start times so one starts at 6pm GMT and one at 8pm GMT.
I think as long as there are people who can do the key roles as Hami tank, Hami tank heal, targeter and general co-ordinator it would be possible.
I think if we switch to 6pm, it will have to be a Sunday as people will be at work more in the week and hence the current start time of 8pm.
So we could say 6pm Sunday and then a weekday at 8pm. Is Monday 8pm too soon after a Sunday 6pm raid for people? -
I have traded now thanks. Sorry for the false call out for a trade.
