I keep making new guys getting them to lvl 12ish and then give up on them becuase they are not what I am wanting. I must have close to 15 alts all in the mid to low teens.

What im looking for:

-Prefer melee
-Want to be able to take a good amount of guys on at once, but doesnt need to be able to tank. (I have a dark armor scrapper, and he taken last in big groups (solo).)
-Want to be able to kill a large group in a somewhat fast amount of time. Doesnt have to be all aoe, id be happy with average AOE and average Single Target damage.
-Flashy/looks are not that important.

What ive tried (melee):
scrappers:
-Spine/regen lvl 38
-Spine/Dark lvl 9
-Dark/Dark lvl 37
-Kat/SR lvl 24
-Claws/Regen lvl 13

Brute:
-DB/SR lvl 15

Tank:
-Fire/DM lvl 21
-Shiled/Axe lvl 12
-Ice/Ice lvl 13

So far the Kat/SR scrapper and Fire/DM Tank are the closest to what im looking for. The Tank seems too squishy for a tank and the scrapper kat/SR the Single target is kinda meh.

Can anyone recommend something, or do any of the ones ive started fit what im looking for later on?

I really like the idea of dominators, Ive always liked controllers on the blue side, and dominators seem like a more offensive version.

Ive taken an Ice/Ice to lvl 14, I like him, but i dont see much love around here for ice/ice and I dont want to play a gimped char. (correct me if im wrong)

I started a plant/thorns because I see a lot of love for that combo but was turned off almost right away (lvl 4) due to the thorns annimation. I didnt like having to wait for the thorns to do their thing before you could actually attack. But i do like plant so far. Ive seen fire being paired with plant... but i have so many fire characters, I was hoping for something different.

So is there maybe a plant/ something other than fire or thorns someone could recommend? Or is ice/ice not that bad? Or maybe something different all together?

Yeah i did the ingame tutorial i think... but still rather lost. Good to know there are some guides out there for it.

Guess you can see my guys in the sig... forgot about that lol. Im sure my two scrappers can still fit in somewhere, damage is damage. But what about my controller, Ive been reading through all the forums the last two days trying to get caught up on things, and ice/storm doesnt seem to be really mentioned. Is a pure controller used anymore?


Edit: Also, thanks for the advise on starting over, i think ill be doing that just to get back in the swing of things then hit up one of my lvled guys again.

I decided to give this game a shot again. Didnt even know GR was coming out, but nice to see that it is! I havet played in a little over 4 years. I have 3 guys in their mid to low 30's:
a spines/Regen scrapper, DM/MA scrapper and a ice/storm controller. Are any of these guys still viable? Where do you suggest I start with them. I barely remember how to even play the game, so starting over with a new guy is an option too I suppose.
