I'm pretty sure I still have that project in my Hero Dawn folder (yes I have an art folder just for the SG). When I was still working on the Vindicators I started a few HD iPhone wallpapers. Between my current commissions, this game, and my Star Wars fan art I'm kinda swamped right now though. So if I go back to the iPhone stuff it wont be any time soon.

The contest post was made in the Virtue Server section (my home server) but was open to anyone. As an after thought I meant to post something here in my art thread about it but kinda ran out of time...

Today's pick was a tough one, I must have checked every submission at least two or three times because I was able to make it through an entire cup of coffee.. There's really some great characters here which has made this a lot of fun. I'd like to offer one final thanks to everyone for their entries and wish you all a Happy New Year!

There's one day and one art slot remaining. If you haven't submitted an entry yet or are just finding this post today, this is your last chance to get in on some free character art! All you need to know is in my original post starting off the thread so check it out and get those screen shots in. I will be selecting the Friday winner around 8:00am EST so there's plenty of time!

Hello Virtue! In the spirit of the season I would like to offer a few pieces of character art done by me! The selected individuals will receive a 8x10 full color bust of their character (digital copy only in .jpg format). To clarify, a "bust" depicts the head, chest and shoulders of the subject. Here's what you need to know:

Only 5 entries will be selected, this is not first come first serve. I will choose entries based on color, style, and quality. Only one entry will be selected each day starting today (Monday, Dec.27) until Friday Dec. 31st when all 5 art slots are filled. Although I'm posting this opportunity here (my home server) it's open to players from any server. Your characters can be hero or villain but must be from this game. Also, in order to extend this offer to as many people as possible only one character per person may qualify.

Entries should be made in this thread with links to character screen shots. Please make sure character images are clear and easy to see. If your entry is dressed head to toe in black and the screen shot was taken in a dark corner at night chances are you will not be selected. Zoom in and make sure you have good lighting for the best image quality!

Photobucket is a good FREE image hosting site you can use for your character entries. To keep the thread clean and easy to read please post links and not full screen shots. I'll accept either as a valid entry but links are preferred.

Selected entries will be listed below and I will PM the player first when they make the list and again when the art work is done. Finished character busts will be posted in my art thread here on the forum and my DeviantART.com gallery. Also please keep in mind that this sort of stuff takes time and it could be a full month or more before your art work is done. Some times real life is way too busy to allow for things like this to be done any faster. So if you're selected, please be patient.

Between social distractions, work, and the launch of Going Rogue, I haven't really made a lot of time for my art.. But I've still managed to sneak in a drawing or two. Here's the next pair of Hero Dawn members, Atamonica and Rotting Soul.

I've recently been all over the place with my art work in an effort to explore new styles, challenge myself, and keep things interesting. One of my personal fav's that I've been neglecting this whole year is anime/manga. So.. with everything else I've been doing I went through some old fan art and redid this piece entirely in Photoshop! Although it's not related to super heroes or anything I really like how this turned out. I think it would be a lot of fun to do a run of Bishoujo CoX pics starting with a few of my characters and working out from there. But right now I have a lot of work already on the go so if I do it at all, it'll have to wait. =(

Alright, here are the first two iPhone/Touch wallpapers that are done so far. I decided to start off with my favorite hero team, the Vindicators! I love Luminary so I might do a second one of that character, but not until I get the rest of the team done. =) I provided a link to DeviantART.com for each image where you can download them. I'm pretty sure you can pull them off this page but downloading from DA helps me get an idea of how popular this type of stuff is and whether I should continue doing them after I finish the rest of the team.

Aside from catching up on my list of Hero Dawn members, I've begun a few concept pieces for sketch cards of signature game characters like Posi and Sister P. There's also a few personal projects I let fall to the wayside that I've been looking at going back to, so I should have lots of stuff to post over the next month or two! =)

I know I haven't been posting here for a while but Agent Goat's been doing a great job of keeping my pencil work circulating in his thread so I took 2 months to focus on Star Wars fan art. But I'm back at it and to kick things off I have a 3 part commission piece I did of the characters N Vision and Poison. This was a fun and interesting project were I was able to explore a few different art styles. The image here is a 320x480 iPhone wallpaper of N Vision. I tried for a "sketch card" style look like the ones found in collector card sets and I really like the way it turned out.

So.. I took a break from the comic hero genre for a while to explore other subject matter and photoshop techniques. It's been a fun learning experience and now I'm back at it again with more City of Heroes fan art!

To get more use outta my tablet I've gone back and colored Electric Lizzy. I still haven't messed around with vectoring and stuff yet, but I really like some of the vector art I've seen.. anyway, here's Lizzy in all her shiny green glory! Original pencil work linked here.

The first of these two characters, Sentry Girl, comes as a result of a SG event auction where the winner was awarded a drawing of their toon. There was a lot of player participation and the event ended up being a lot of fun! The second drawing continues my work on Hero Dawn characters.
