Shoshemi frowned beneath her face covering.
"I like this not. Too many variables." -
"Hmm.. He stands aproximately 6ft tall, and if I remember correctly, he was wearing midieval armour with red runes. And a nasty temper to boot."
-
Shoshemi eyed the hologram of Noitpeced. She'd heard little about Husk Corp, let alone where they might be right now. She put a force field around herself. Turning to look at both Alex and Krystil...
"We'd best get started."
Turning back towards Noitpeced, "You wouldn't happen to know where we can find the Avatar would you? I'm sure you know of whom I speak." -
((That'd be sweet Thunder, my brother almost went that route, but decided on partical/nuclear physics instead XD And as a 4th year biotech/electrical engineering student it's nice to find people that know their stuff. And now, back to that action...)
And the next morning, people will wake up and think their clocks are off, as they would be the only thing to know the earth had jumped 2 days ahead. So yes, for once in the millions of years the earth has been here, the year will only be 363 days.
As for Shoshemi, she knew, but the concequences of it didn't matter. Still sitting, she let her mind wander, searching for the Council. Soon enough, an astral version of herself was standing on the same rock that Alex had ealier. The Council appeared, some with perplexed looks on thier faces.
"What do you do here," asked the former Keeper, Syne.
"I'm looking for the current Keeper. Her task is my task, so I wish to help her."
"Ahh. So the Li Long have stepped in?" Syne raised one eyebrow.
"Not so much as my Order, but me. We are all charged with defense of the Secret, and this is the newest threat. The 'device' is a stain on our dimension and any dimension it crosses."
The members of the Council looked at each other, some nodded, others with slight smirks on their faces.
"Very well." Syne raised her hand and another landmass came and merged with the one on which they were standing. On the newest addition there could be seen a portal, through which Shoshemi could see Alex step out of a portal.
"Through there is that which you seek. Be wary, as the danger is great."
Shoshemi thanked them and started for the portal. She doubted she'd every be able to find that place again. As her astral body stepped through, her physical one disappeared, reappearing beside Alex in time to see Noitpeced. -
Alex looked lost in thought.
"Go after him. I have another duty to attend to," Shoshemi said to the wind.
With that Shoshemi went through the portal to Earth. It deposited her back in Peregrine Island. All around her civilians were staring into the sky. There could be seen hundreds upon thousands upon millions of flashes in the sky.
She sat down on a rooftop and began meditating and linking her mind with that of the 3 other Jinzu wearers. They all knew of the iminant danger, and in linking, increased their power ten fold. They began suplementing the GoPC's field, strengthening it, and hopefully letting it hold until they could destroy all of the "things." -
((Diov, this is for you *shakes fist*))
-
((Last we heard from him he jumped off the statue in PI to get away from Aoleleb's attack, on page 16 I think))
Shoshemi looked around. She heard the voice, and could feel a presence, but no one was around other than Alex.
"It seems we have an unknown benefactor. We had best find the Avatar before we are waylaid by more of the foul creatures here." -
((I always cringe when he says that, "new tricks." And it's nice to see someone that knows their physics XD))
"Very well."
Shoshemi projected a force field around both of them and brought them to the edge of the larger field. The moved through exactly like she had come in.
She turned to Alex. "It took me three days to pinpoint and trace the movement of the device, I know you can do it in almost and instant." Shoshemi turned and looked into the mists, "And with all the chaos that surrounds us I cannot sense whether or not the device is still on this plane."
((Shoshemi has a force field around herself, but only because she projected it again, the one inside the dome merged with the dome.)) -
((Curse you work and making me miss all this great action *shakes fist* Hopefully you all haven't gone to bed yet :P))
Shoshemi reached the platform in time to see H'taed vanish. Inside the dome she could see Alex with what looked like black goo rising towards her. She paused in midair, hovering close to the dome as to ward off notice of anymore strange creatures.
Being a master of force field energies in her own right, Shoshemi took a moment to examine the field surrounding the platform. This one was well made, and almost impenetrable. Almost.
She then turned an eye towards Alex. This one seemed different than the others she had seen. After a moment, it hit her. A Keeper? That would explain the differentness ((hurray for new words)) Alex seemed to eminate.
With but a thought, Shoshemi moved herself closer to the field surrounding the platform. Her own force field merged with the larger one, and she was inside and beside Alex.
Perhaps I may be of assistance to you, Keeper?
((Oh, and Thunderbug, you could say that the Monks are similar to the Keepers. One could say they are worthy of being the next Keeper, but if not nothing would happen, that I know of. Same goes for those that would wear the Jinzu. One could say they have reached inner peace, and would be given a chance to gain the Jinzu without question, but the path would destroy them. So in that sense they're similar =D)) -
((Alright, I think Nether is going to take a break for a bit, as she's been kind of left in the dust, >.> is about to be exploded, and I have another character I want to try out =D))
Shoshemi sat in the small meditation chamber. She had been there for 3 days. As one of the senior members of her order, she did little more than instruct the acolytes and meditate.
Her mind's eye watched. It watched ages long past, and ages to come. As all acolytes are instructed, she had found her inner self. Not many in the monastery wear the gold sash, or Jinzu, of inner peace. The trial is long and exhausting, a road traveled only by those that have found their inner self. She had felt compelled to meditate 3 days prior. None of the other monks knows why or what for, but she hadn't left the room since entering.
She had felt a disturbance. You could say it was a similar feeling that Obi-wan had when Alderan was destroyed. And so she began her meditation. She knew not what to search for or where to start, but she had begun none the less. Three days hence, her journey ended.
A "package" had entered our dimension. What it was, how it got here, and what it does were inconsequential. The fact was that it caused a disturbance in this dimension, and any disturbance was viewed as a threat. Shoshemi's inner eye watched it move from place to place as one would watch a satellite in the night sky. And now it had stopped in a place called the Dimension of Mists.
Shoshemi opened her eyes. Her vision quickly readjusted to the light after being closed for so long. She stepped through the door into the hallway, surprising a few acolytes that had congregated around the door to see if she would come out.
She scolded them, Shouldnt you be meditating?
They all mumbled an apology and hurried to their respective rooms. She began walking down the hallway. As she made her way down it, everything around her seemed to fade away, until seemed to be walking on thin air through an endless blue expanse. In the distance she could see an archway.
Through the archway looked pretty much the same as it did all around Shoshemi. Of course the blue haze of the mists looked very similar to what she was standing in now. She stepped through the archway. Instantly it felt as though someone had thrust a dagger through her consciousness. This place was a breeding ground of aberrations against reality, and every one of them assaulted her senses.
This place reeks of chaos. If I cannot destroy this device, I must make sure it doesnt leave here.
That said, she wrapped herself in a force field and began flying towards the device.

*An Extremely Brief History of the Li Long Monks, and Shoshemi*
The Li Long Monks are an old order, dating back to the early 1300s. It was started by a man, known only as The Star Wanderer. It is said that they guards a Secret. What the Secret is, what it could mean, is known only to 5 monks at any one time. Shoshemi is one of them.
Each monk trains physically for 7 hours each morning, beginning at 5AM. Following that they pray to whatever god they feel, and then meditate for 4 hours, attempting to reach their inner self. Those that believe they have are giving a test to reach the Jinzu. If they make it, they are allowed to wear the sash, if they dont, most likely they havent survived. When one finds their inner self, they are able to tap into, as of yet, unreachable sources of power. They seem calmer, much more intouch with themselves and those around them.
Shoshemi is one of 4 monks currently wearing the Jinzu. At a young age she was taught the magiks of "Inryoku Chikara Bunya. No one knows why she has a third eye, or why it is absent most of the time, only that it shows itself when she channels extreme amounts of energy. ((Shes a Grav/FF controller, heres a pic. While she may be a controller, she's still a monk, so she know's martial arts.)) -
((Woah, I go to work for 1 day and we've already got 5 more pages O.o Better start reading...))
-
((Well, you never said there were 12ft thick, just... wait oh, there it is, apparently I can't read. Yeah, I doubt so either.))
The fireball had hurt. A lot. Nether's entire body was smoking, he hair was singed, and her skin looked like she had been in an oven. She got up on one knee, and when she looked up at Aoleleb her eyes weren't blue anymore. Once again blazing a firey red, she spoke with a voice about 3 octaves below normal.
"Your power is nothing. I have walked through darkness, but can you?"
With that, everything went pitch black. They both seemed to be standing on level ground with no obsticals or barriers, and if they could see that far, it would've extended in all directions.
"Now lets play..."
((The fireball caused enough trauma that Nether basically passed out and Loc'atarro was able to take control.)) -
((Ah ha, but you have to think outside the box, magic is much more than fireballs and such...))
((Oh, and I'll finish my post tomorrow after I get done with work.)) -
((Ah, well that's not really god moding but I get what you're saying.))
That probably wasn't the greatest idea, Nether thought to herself as she saw the fireball coming down on her. As fast as she could, she threw up a defensive shield to protect agains the flame. It wasn't going to be enough, but it would keep her from being instantly vaporized.
Reversing her movement, she dove away from Aoleleb and his fireball.
((I'll let you say how big the explosion is when it hits. From which I will continue as to how it effects Nether.)) -
((Lawl... wait, what? God moded your fireball? You never specified where he had the fireball at, I assumed he had his arms up and the fireball over his head. I could see him making a fireball in the same stance as Ryu from Street Fighter II, but doing that and making a huge fireball that encases himself and everything around him before throwing it just sounds kinda retarded (no offense). And how are you stuck here, can't you make your own portals? You've been doing it this whole time.))

We can both be Black Swan for a bit XD Anyway, here's a heads up for Thunderbug, spells and magical energy aren't contained within the timestream, so stopping time has no effect on them >
BIC
Nether had followed Black Swan to Aoleleb, but had kept herself cloaked and in the shadows. She had seen the confrontation between Aoleleb and Swan, and found it quite amusing. Seeing the growing fireball Nether knew she had to move fast. Still cloaked, she snuck up behind Aoleleb. By now the fireball had grown to the size of a house. Using her fist as a focal point, she aimed a nasty kidney punch right for Aoleleb, releasing nether energy from it at the same time.
------
Black Swan had never seen a hero this powerful before (at least in her opinion). She knew she wasn't going to be able to take him alone. Her eyes flared black for a moment and 2 shades appeared on either side of her. They both smashed skeletal fists into the stone, creating large cracks. Another hit and she'd be free... -
((ROFL, yeah, but for the most part, you're not a melee character, they are :P But what can I say, Swan's a sad excuse for a dark energy user.))
-
"You!"
Black Swan's expression had gone from repulsion to rage. She began conjuring Wraiths to aid her, but Nether intervened.
"You're Shadow Earth minions are nothing. You can't even tap into the true energies of the Netherrealm." Swan's visage of pure hatread didn't let up, but her conjuring did. "And I'm not here on a pleasure trip either. I'm here because I may be able to help you."
Swan's look changed from hatred to incredulousness. Nether had never seen anyone change expressions so many times in her life.
"You? Help me? What can *you* possibly do to help *me*?"
"Maybe you don't remember what happened last time we crossed paths. Anyway, after that little incident you lost quite a bit of favor from Tyrant. There's a dimensional traveler, Aololeb, you may know of him. He is currently near the capital, and rumor is he's trying to steal Tryant's prized Black Ruby."
"If you were to stop him, and give him to Tyrant as a gift, quit possibly you would be back in his favor." Nether raised an eyebrow for emphasis.
Nether knew Black Swan would never be able to stop Aoleleb, but she may be able to slow him down enough.
I would kill you, but this is an intriguing piece of information layed before me. I will think on this, in the mean time, get out of my sight, before I change my mind.
Nether chuckled to herself as she left the room. Swan's minions gave her evil looks, but kept to themselves. As she reached daylight once more, Nether cloaked herself and headed back towards the woods. Finding a quiet grove away from the temple, she sat down and wove a scrying spell to see what Swan would do.
"Let's see if she took my bait..."
((Jeez, I've got some perfect tricks I want to try out on either H'taed or Syne, and both currently using "Rest" :P Especially since spells have no ties to the temperal stream, they just exist. And if someone has something interesting they want to post that Swan would do, go ahead, just know that whatever she does Nether is going to see and hear. The whole point is for Swan to head to the captial looking for Aoleleb, so no "Swan decides Nether is lying and goes looking for her instead"))
-
I am so drunk right now, and I have to say, this is probably the funniest [censored] I've read in a while.
Solid, [censored] solid.
<3 Nether -
((Strange, and once again it's 3am, but this time I'm WAY to drunk to post. And lawl, I saw you today Diov :P))
-
((So it's 3am my time (pacific if you didn't know) and I just got home from drinking, followed by eating an omlet. Here goes my post...))
Nether entered the temple with no problems. Most of the minions were either too busy doing something else to notice, or just steered clear of her. Following the winding corridoors, she eventually made it to Black Swan's chamber. She could hear voices inside, on definitely belonging to Black Swan. When the voices stopped Nether scratched the door.
"Enter."
As the door opened, Nether glanced around. No one was in the room. When the door closed behind her she dropped her illusion. Black Swan had a look of suprise, shock, and repulsion.
"You might remember me from before, but this time I have a proposition for you that doesn't include you being confined to a small space."
((That last bit is Nether talking. And I'd finish my post, but I am WAY to tired to do anything more.)) -
Nether stepped out of her shadow door into the outskirts of a forest. She new she was on Praetorian Earth, but which section was the question. Taking a second to orient herself and look for landmarks...
"Looks like I'm in Black Swan's neck of the woods."
There was a large clearing in front of her, beyond that a giant temple. The field and temple were crawling with Black Swan's minions from Shadow Earth.
"Shadow Earth, what a joke. And she probably wonders why she was taken down so easily last time."
Nether took a few moments to weave a scrying spell. She closed her eyes and could see Aoleleb like he was right in front of her. Behind him she could see men and women in leather, with spiked hair and maces. Thinking aloud...
"Dominatrix's minons. He must be close to the capitol then. This could be a good thing. Maybe I should pay Black Swan a visit, crack a couple jokes about why she can't control true denziens of the Netherrealm. Heh, Shadow Earth..."
Chuckling to herself and shaking her head, she wove another spell, taking on the shadowy appearance of a Shadow Earth Poltergeist (Black Swan's Boss class minion). With that she headed towards the temple, slowly, but with purpose.
((I'm guessing we've all played long enough to have gone through the Praetorian storyarc. Putting a creative spin on it, I'm going to say that while they were "defeated" in game, they were able to escape back to Praetorian Earth, to plot and scheme once again. And sorry Element_Master if you had someplace on Praetorian Earth you had planned to have been at. You didn't say so I came up with something. Considering you can make portals across dimensions, if you did, then you can get there easily enough))

And Nether looks teh hotness! :P))

Thanks =D I'm assuming you're refering to either of the pictuers I posted during the Storm Palace fight.
Now to just wait till Aoleleb posts again. But in the mean time, I'll watch this fight unfold; it's become very interesting. -
"Praetorian Earth eh... That should be interesting."
She stood up and looked down upon the fight that was still ensuing. She made another symbol in the air, different from the first, which disappeared as quickly.
"I'd love to see how she or he handled this, but I've got a package to retrieve."
With that she backed away from the ledge, as to not be in view of the combatants, and opened a shadow door to Praetorian Earth. Stepping through the last thing she heard was Syne yell "HOW DARE YOU!"
((As close as I could get of a visual of Nether's vantage point: Vantage Point))
((Edit: Figured it out XD))
