I envisage it as more a power that can be activated once every 24 hours, to hop you across for 2 hours. After that time you would have to wait 24 hours before being able to reactivate the power. I dont see any limit to the number of uses, i.e it becomes permanent like the jump pack power from the GvsE pack.

It would allow people to play on the other server for 2 hour periods and if they decided they liked it after a couple of weeks/months making friends they could use a server transfer and then use the power to hop back to see old friends on the origional server.

But that is permament and maybe some people dont want to permantley move.

I like the idea of it being until u log out.

After a comment was made in one of my other threads I have been thinking. The cost of a server transfer is quite a lot of money, so how about a temporary power to enable reality crashing/surfing/leaping etc.

I envisage this power being a accolade or more importantly could well be introduced as a paid for pack maybe priced at £9.99. If it is just an accolade then you would just get a power but if a paid for pack you would receive a power (I will get to it I promise), a aura (maybe the one u get for smashing Hammi with in the LGTF), and some cool costume pieces (not sure what these could be but suggestions are welcome).

If it is to be given as a accolade maybe have it awarded for completing all 4 shadow shard TF's and a new TF accessible through pocket D. The new TF would be along the lines of stopping the break down of the walls of reality. Once completed you would be awarded with accolade and a power that says you have mastered the walls of reality and now have the ability to make small temporary windows to allow safe passage.

The piece de resistance of this would be the "holly hop drive". It would be a power that has a 24 hour recharge but would allow you to jump your character to another server (whether that be EU servers only, or a full server list). Once the character had jumped 2 hours would be allowed on that server before chronometric and quantum vibrations pulled you back to your own "dimension" (server). A 15 min warning would be issued to say that reversion would take place in that time.

Obviously if people could play there mains on another server without moving them permanently to start with it may encourage more server movement which in turn brings in extra revenue.

Any naming worry could be addressed with a prefix or a suffix identifying the player's home server. It may also be necessary to have players that have dimension jumped to be visible as a different colour when targeted or when they appear on the search list.

And from time to time i see Italian being used in the public channels and also dutch. Both of which have active communities within the English speaking servers.

I am sure with the small spattering of french I know and the non existance german I would be able to function well in a team on either of those servers.

I am sorry I really dont understand what you are saying with regards to taking toys away. I have made a suggestion on how I would like to see changes made to the log in screen and also how to purchase extra slots and lastly about having a serverless enviroment or single server.

My thread wasnt deleted. In the locked thread there are people saying if the option is there they would use it and my current thread that hasnt been locked some also agree with aspects of the suggestion.

I know it isnt steel. But please direct me to a post any where on this forum where I have told someone not to post anymore? I take on board constructive critism and refine my points. I have addressed in my post many of the previous problems that people saw in a server merge and although the solutions I have suggested are not ideal thay are that just suggestions. I will continue to revise them as options and thoughts help this process.

Your ideas and opinions are just that. They are not canon. People, time and again from the looks of it, have come back to those ideas and said 'No thank you, we dont think it will work.' I believe I addressed a potential solution to the server localisation issue.

I have started a new thread so this doesnt get lost in the jumble off the other (IMO Valid) Thread.

I have been toying with this idea for a while now and haven’t had the inclination to suggest it before as it requires a lot of explaining to have people go “Urgh No”. But I feel now would be the right climate to do so.

I would like to see one server! Shock Horror. Yes one server! OMG cries of our slots our slots what about our slots. But please bear with me and hear me out.

Upon logging into the game I would like to be greeted with a comic book style layout that has 6 headshots per page on the left hand side and gives a full image of the character on the right page when it has been selected (a little like it is now). You can flip pages to see all your characters, and extra pages can be bought instead of extra slots. So to recap you would buy 6 new slots in a transaction. I know this means an overhaul, but the current system could be left in place. It is just something I would like to see.

Once a character has been selected you enter the game. It is one massive instance of the game. One server. Yep just One. This could be one in the world, or one in the EU.

Ah but localisation I hear you say. This could be achieved I think. The game currently looks up codes to display text that is stored on your HDD ( I may be wrong and if I am then this wouldn’t work) but before you pick you character or on the updater screen there is a check box that allows to select the local language you wish to play in, which would in turn load up that language as the look-up text. This would mean that French and German speaking players would still have the text displayed in their native language.

Ah but then I hear what about my characters names. Well global on the EU are all unique so they wouldn’t be affected, but individual character names would be. If a character logs on to the “One” server whilst there is a character with that name already logged on, there character will be logged into the game with a numerical appendage at the end, or a free name token could be offered to the character that logged on second. It would be a case of have an appendage or first come first served on the naming.

The above idea of a server-less environment, would improve the game in the EU no end and also remove the feeling of them and us between Defiant and Union. Population numbers would be awesome and the city would once again feel “super”

I don’t know how hard it would be to implement and this and really the only people that would be able to comment on the difficulty of implementing is a red name. So please only pass comments about the actual way the game would be accessed and wether you feel it would benefit the EU or not.

I am suggesting that a EU to US paid for move would be welcomed by people ( I know I know I will be told not many), but how about a serious thread of people that would move and would say pay 30 pounds in total to be moved (cost of US code plus the cost of the transfer in total). If 100 people said they would move then we could be moved and the 3 grand used on marketing or other things.

So after deciding between ourselves that there is no way we can have servers moved or anything, I ask again.

I will gladly buy another code but would like my toons and stuff (vets etc) moved to the US account.

The population on just one server on the US was more than the combined total of all our servers.

I aggree that some servers may be less than ours but christ there are how many servers over there? 12?

And one persons rude person is another persons friend so that is an invalid point if you ask me.

Performance wise, I know people that see a significant difference when they go on the US servers over the UK. So just because you are lucky enough to have a problem free expierence on the EU server doesnt mean everyone does.

If those servers are on UK soil in the US they are only viable to UK law. It is a unique case I know but still it is an example of how some people make statements that are not quite true.

I was answering a sweeping statement designed to quash my suggestion rather than come up with ways it could work, which I am sure there could be. Other MMOs only have one global network. Why cant ours?

The organisation I work for has servers in the US and they are certaintly not subject to US law.

If it is a fibre link being used then where does the law stand?

If we were given access to the US servers aswell as our own (Thats one big server list) We could choose to play on densly populated servers, or ghost towns.

Then everyone would be happy would they not?

EU side could still collect our money and sort things for us, and the yanks side could still do the same. All I am asking for is a bit of fibre between the current servers or ....Gee Do I even dare suggest it..... A fortnight of no servers to allow a physical move so they all sited in the same place.

Everyone would benifit from more slots and more choice and there would still be a need for NCNC and EUNC
