We were fighting custom LTs, 4 levels above us on one mission, then rikti minions 1 level above us in another. We were getting about half of the exp from the custom.
Both has auto LK but to different levels.
Anyone know a possible reason for this?
[/ QUOTE ]
If it was Rikti comm officers they get LT xp instead of minion XP. This is due to thier ability to spawn a portal and dramatically up the difficulty of the encounter.
[/ QUOTE ]
OK, but they were still only one level above us, and the custom were 4. And we were all getting twice as much exp from the rikti.
[/ QUOTE ]
Were the customs all minions?
As in the Rikti were considered +1 Lts.
The customs were considered +4 minions? -

Oh, I probably will, from now on. That's not going to help too much when I need to get my Cape and/or Aura missions. Or get told I need to speak to Azuria or Smythe. Or to head to the Vanguard building. Or to (if I ever actually can) get a Sewer Trial...
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait. Wait. Wait! WTF.
How exactly is this affecting your ability to get a sewer trial?
1.) You need like minded individuals to run it anyway. You don't just grab a random PuG from anywhere and try to run that unless you just desire failure.
2.) There is no need to go to Atlas.
Sooooo? Please explain. -

Okay, so anti-farmers characterize farmers as ruining the game, farmers characterize anti-farmers as trying to control others or control how other people play the game, apathetic people characterize anti-farmers as trying to police or control the farmers and tell them not to do that by treating them as stupid, lazy or self-absorbed.
So, anti-farmers want farmers to stop farming, farmers want anti-farmers to stop complaining about farming and apathetic people want anti-farmers to stop complaining about farming.
So, come on, happy apathetic people, do a little dance, get your boogie on! You've thrown your hat in with the people that threaten everything good about MA.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually some of us that are apathetic to their plight are trying to convince them that there are other servers where this isn't an issue. -

I've got to personally agree with the "Remove AE from Atlas" group, here.
I just started a new toon. I went to Atlas. And found it crowded as all heck. Calls for Farms blaring across Broadcast, when people weren't getting into arguments, or laughing at the poor sod asking if there were any Sewer Teams forming.
The traffic was so bad that I was rubberbanding so much it took me more than three minutes to move 200 feet.
And this is on Victory. Not one of the major populated servers.
Atlas is simply too central too the game. Characters from all levels were always heading back to Atlas for one reason or another. With the AE showcase there... I'm getting bogged way down.
I don't care about the farmers. I don't do it myself, but hey, to each his (or her) own. But when the farmers are so prevelant that I can barely move my character?! That's a problem. And the only solution I can see to this is to shut down AE in the normaly heavy-traffic zones.
[/ QUOTE ]
heres an idea. roll new toons in galaxy.
[/ QUOTE ]
I always have rolled my new toons in Galaxy as its easier to traverse, since it doesn't have all the pits and under/overpasses.
Then again there is another idea as well. Roll a toon on a server not named Freedom. -
Getting errors after an IGOR pass. It appears it is pulling out the group info for custom bosses that are in their own group. Any ideas?

Not FACT. I'm leveling an alt, I don't spend any time at all in AP and I get bombarded at all times.

Might be time to leave Freedom... -

I'm still disappointed that we can't make our own Kongmobile for getting around. I know it would be balls given the insane layout of Paragon City, but iconic vehicles are a superhero staple!
Although you might be able to fake Wonder Woman's jet by introducing a "driving" flight pose.
[/ QUOTE ]
lol Kong. I sense a need for a new Flight emote. -

MA did eliminate one of my biggest complaints. Travel is now basically zero.
[/ QUOTE ]
I actually find the lack of travel rather... immersion breaking. Takes the RPG out of this MMO in some ways, since you're now just holodecking. You aren't a part of the city and saving it, you're just entertaining yourself. It's like... you playing yourself in a game, if that makes sense.
I don't really care for it, and actually think MA missions would be a lot more cool, compelling, and interesting if they were incorporated into the game world better.
I'm sure people will look at that and call me crazy, but come on, it's not like it takes long to get anywhere in CoX. It never did, and with all the teleporters, portals, etc., it's even easier to get around then when the game started. And at the start, CoX blew other games out of the water in terms of fun and easy travel.
[/ QUOTE ]
My idea of a superhero doesn't run his [censored] across the city. He uses superspeed, flight, etc.
So, pre-14th level makes me a sad panda. -

I'm with Decorum on this one. All of my characters have a back story. You don't have to play the exact same content over and over.
If you are bored, try this...Pick a different origin. Talk to different contacts. Concentrate on different enemies. Try new and underused power sets. If you aren't having fun with the toon you're playing, delete and try something else.
[/ QUOTE ]
The old excuse "I'm so bored of grinding through the same old content" just doesn't wash anymore. MA just opened up more content then you could possibly hope to experience on your journey to 50. So what's the excuse now? I guess if you want to PL a PvP toon or two...but wow, our PvP population must be set for a HUGE explosion of people...
Oh, and don't look for any "Short" content atm. I think the devs are going to have to change the search description for Short to "Farm". I only had time for one last mission yesterday so I did a search for a short mission arc - picked a random page in the middle of the list (looking for something that might not have been rated a lot) and found a FULL page of farms (or cleverly disguised farms). Moving forward and backwards a page didn't help either. Just kind of sad. Great. Congrats. You've got a new 50 in 10 hours. Now what?
[/ QUOTE ]
MA did eliminate one of my biggest complaints. Travel is now basically zero. -
It all depends on how you want to play Seren. I recommend that everyone play thier first few chars legit all the way. There is a enough content to do so. But when you're up to number 10-20 sometimes that pre-stamina, or pre-travel power time makes you want to scream.
I personally don't see what anyone gets in going 1-50 through PLing. There's no real end game to this game, the fun is in the journey there. The only thing to do at 50 is trick out your character. Or PvP, for the 10 or so people that do that. :P -
[ QUOTE ]
Eh. I can deal with the struggle. It's not THAT hard without stamina, you just have to play differently, like with any fairly decent (missing) power. I've never been in a big hurry. In fact, I solo a lot because everyone is always RUSH RUSH RUSH in missions.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm just not a pokey player. If I wanted to wait and take 30 10 minutes to get to the place my "quest" was I'd play WoW. -
[ QUOTE ]
I don't care if people do it, but it's always puzzled me. I don't find it the least bit fun. But then, I'm not an "Achiever" type. I like my characters to "live and grow" and get attached to them. I don't want an avatar of a bunch of numbers. Very dull to me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sometimes you just want the "Gimme Stamina!" button. Put that button in game and it would eliminate alot of casual PLing at least. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, my two biggest wants for MA choices is the ability to have a boss spawn in an ambush, on their own, have two bosses in a mob (as we see all the time in CoX, but cannot do ourselves in MA... I wasted a lot of time trying to get two bosses to spawn together in my arc before realizing you couldn't), and to be able to choose where things spawn. Would certainly make things a lot easier, make writing dialogue easier (I had to adjust some dialogue when I realized that things might not spawn in as I wanted, no matter how linear the map was).
I'm surprised about the lack of "boss" options, actually... it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to put more of them in. And if you were afraid of farming, you could just limit the number of boss spawns you could have in a mission (rather wonder if they might do that somehow with all those farming going on).
[/ QUOTE ]
GP. Make a custom mob group and just put that boss in there. It'll make it spawn multiple copies of him when used. -

your your enemy class is only lvl 30-50, and your lvl 6. It will bump you up to lvl 30 Mental Giant.
[/ QUOTE ]
It only does this with custom mobs though I think. We discovered it the other night in my first mish. But in the second mish it doesn't.
Custom mobs in mish were the only notable difference. -

I'm going to try to play some arcs tonight. I haven't had too much luck with the "pick one randomly" method yet. And I agree that most of the 5-star arcs appear to be farms.
I found one that was the giant outdoor ruined city map with 60 glowies and only Rikti Communication officers. (Yeah, that got one starred and reported.)
[/ QUOTE ]
For the love of god don't just one star one for that unless its just map after map of it. At least see if there is story involved. Mine starts out similiarly on the carnie city map, but there is a story driven reason for it.
[/ QUOTE ]
There was no story involved. I should have also mentioned it was a defeat all.
On that obnoxiously gigantic map.
With nothing but Communication Officers.
If that doesn't scream "farm" I don't know what does.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok. That would be annoying. Mine was originally a defeat all and then I ran it once and changed it because it was painfully annoying. My arc only has 1 defeat all and its the last mission.
Which depending on your viewpoint could still be painfully annoying. :P But at least its a medium sized indoor map.
My biggest issue thus far has been the 100k mark. I had to limit custom enemies signifigantly due to it, and I had to prune alot of text back. -
[ QUOTE ]
A story driven reason for 60 glowies? It had better be a damn good reason.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nah, not 60 glowies here. 21 if I remember right. Of varying shapes, and only 5 are required. 1 of the ones that isn't required gives a a clue as to what is going on, but the story continues without it. It just gives more explanation. -

However, if you list your arc publicly are you not asking for a public response?
[/ QUOTE ]
In a simple word, no. Some people posted their arc just so that people on Victory would know they had one, so that it would not be lost in a sea of 10 thousand other arcs. Some people wanted the praise or critique. Some people just want to learn HOW to make an arc. And some just want the tickets for the badges. If someone specifically asks for comments, then by all means, comment away, but I do not think that is what people were all looking for.
[/ QUOTE ]
I posted mine so people could give it a go maybe I could see what they thought of it. So far it has been run and starred enough to net me 120 tickets and has 5 stars. Don't know what that means, but someone liked it, or I'd have zero tickets. My arc starts are seemingly simple and ramps up toward the end to a pretty difficult climax. It took me a bit of tweaking, but as of last night we were able to complete the arc without a bunch of builds that costs billions. Many of the testers that helped me requested that I don't lower the difficulty at all, which made me think. Who is my target audience? How can I get those people to play without getting the people that want a walk in the park to play too? Currently there is no real way to do that except by putting warning where it ill be read in he initial mission descript.
If Kong runs my arc, he'll be no doubt annoyed by the first mission, as its a large map, it appears to be a farm, and has multiple glowies. Its only by playing the arc and reading the text that there is a story behind it all. Why is the first mission basically all the same mob? Because I wanted it to be and after testing it with the current primary setup it gave the proper feel to the mission. Everything is pretty simple if you're careful, but the moment you start taking it for granted you die. Missions 2, 3, and 4 are pretty straightforward, slowly ramping up in difficulty, mission 5, you will need a team because there is an AV. I feel its commiserate with some of the material I've been through by the CoH dev team. I still catch errors here and there that I fix ongoing, but then again who still hasn't seen BOSS_NAME in a mission lately as well? :P
I'll be happy if others here enjoy the arc, but the arc made my target group very happy and that was all I really set out to accomplish.
I just wish there was a way for you to rate your own arc on difficulty that was searchable. That would help further narrow things down to players that want a challenge that scales up.
I am also making a second version of the same arc that will be for twinked out builds only. Because really, how many times can you mow through the same content over and over again saying. Well, that was just too easy. MA allows people to build missions that aren't scaled to the least common denominator. We just need a way in search to better denote that you're not going to be able to solo this on your concept build. -

The Middle EB was also a pain to fight because he kept popping his Tier 9, on his EB hitpoints. :/
Combined with the ambushes that would triple stack Fearsome Stare and an ally that died in literally 30 seconds it was a tough fight. I had to go back and stock up on breakfrees. It was kind of like fighting Hamidon. You'd get him down to a quarter and the big ambush (5 or 6 Lts, a few minions) would show up, and you'd have to stop to fight them, while you're doing that, RttC is healing the EB back to full so you have to beat him down again for the next ambush, and even when you're beating on him he's popping his Tier 9 regularly to drag the fight out even longer. It was a long fight.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oddly enough I didn't have this problem on my Warshade, but I played it the first day out. Only issue was one of the EBs was a little of a pain to beatdown, but it wasn't the necro. And with the exception of the ally being a tard. But I thought voodoo had found a way to program special AI to replicate himself. -
Add @Umbriel to the list. He is going to play a Energy/WP Stalker
-
I think the warehouse map is called Dance Rave, under unique warehouse maps.
