My particular lack of interest in the list of questions was due to a couple of things. #1. At least two others had answered it already. #2. Based on the poster's analysis of what TonyV said, I fully expected my answers to get twisted into an equally-distorted state.

And that was criticized as irresponsible and exploitative. How many more times would he have had to say "This is just a rumor" before it was no longer considered an attempt to string people along?

Too many generalizations, which I admit I was guilty of too. Both sides of the Titan debate got more or less dragged into a ridiculously over-heated argument by one or two individuals who had no tact. In short, both 'organizations' were judged based on the actions of their most extremist "supporters."

This is nothing. All the really wild stuff got purged.

After the way things calmed down in the infamous "hope of haven't given up" thread, I began to notice that a lot of the more heated bickering between Titan folks and those who disagree with Titan, were being blown way out of proportion by a very tiny minority. It's sort of like what happens when someone judges a nation by what a terrorist group (that is not endorsed by the government) does on its own.

He was getting answers, but for some reason acted like I have some kind of an inside-track on Titan activities. I don't.

Or... or... they're going to abuse the characters in horrible ways on what will become private servers.

Oh well. Either way, I think I found out what I needed to know. Purpose of thread ended, if it had one to begin with.

What's fascinating about it is... isn't the game supposed to be closed to new accounts?

They seldom do. It was more of a test than anything.

Analyze? You've reminded us countless times of how you KNEW everything about where the game was going, long before everyone else did. And also how you KNEW all the Titans before anyone else did, and how they ruined the game for us by not fighting the Devs when they did things you didn't agree with.

Are you so fragile that anyone who disagrees with you is attacking you?

I think this is we're we are supposed to praise the person who is so obviously NOT Another_Fan, for being right all along when nobody listened. If we don't, the rage posts will continue until morale improves.

How long it stays up I guess is up to them. After a certain grace period though, I guess if anyone wants, they could possibly get it done via a service ticket instead?

Once it's set up, the automated transfer service is less trouble though. My domain registrar got bought out once and set up a service like this, and that was active for a couple years.

It would take some technical wizardry, but it could be a lot worse. The cost of it would be a pebble drop in the pond.

And if you mean that it makes the sale less valuable... if someone DOESN'T transfer their character data, they either

A: Don't trust the new company
B: Don't want to play the game anymore
C: Plan on starting over with new characters

So, has the buyer really lost anything besides spam rights?
