Nice start ... I like the layout and the point of view ... great sketch Alex.

Wow man that is one really nice piece.
I love the detail you showed here when posting it and all the work you put in the piece.
Great job! -
I recently got myself a 4x6 Graphire from Wacom and as others have mentionned ... remember that it is just a tool ... I think I still do better with my mouse than I do with my tablet ... plus for me 4x6 is way big enough ... I hate moving my arm when I work and a tablet is not a mouse ... you have to go to the position on it that you want on your screen ... and for someone that sets his mouse to go accross the screen within 3 cms (an inch) having to move my hand 3-6 inches to click on the file menu is a pain!
So ... think about it ... don't spend too much on your first one ... and keep drawing, because that tablet is not the solution (wasn't for me anyway) eventhough there are really cool things that you can do with one that are almost impossible with a mouse ... just keep that in mind. -
Here are the best ones I got
Our arrival
All out!
and the one that kept us going!
Great job guys .. that was so much fun! -
Ok this thread is long now ... can someone remind me of the peticulars ...
- Server: Liberty
- Toon with the name of my Board Name
- Same powersets (or can I make some changes for a bit of variety)
- SG name? (assuming you went hero site)
- anything else I should know ? -
I really enjoyed watching those ... hope there are more coming ... Rhum is a little hard to understand sometimes but for some reason ... either my ear got used to it or something ... it seamed better in the 3rd one.
Great job! -
That is a beautiful piece. I love how you added a glow that matches the background. Makes for a nice uniform and blending image. Great job.
Since you mentionned you had no idea how to pronouce her name I tried to look up some pronouciation guides and from what I gather I think it should be something like : K-ee-i-ch-e
((The K as in the ch from Loch, the ee from tree, the i from pick, the ch as in ch and not sh [I speak french so that one is a little subtle for me] and the e from peck not hey))
[I got that here ]
Beautiful picture, interesting name and intriguing pronounciation.
Great job! -
I know that on a previous post (or maybe another forum but I think it was here) someone had mentionned that a nice complement to drawing the marvel way was
Action Anatomy: For Gamers, Animators, and Digital Artists
by Takashi Iijima
so I got both ... and I can tell you that for someone that loves (I mean I luv!) highlights and shading this is such a great book. Add to that really cool explanations on how the body moves and you can take that Drawing the Marvel way to the next level ... really cool. -
Ex Libris, this is a very interesting story. You have my attention and you got my imagination going ... really intrested to get some of the finer details.
Good job. -
I really really like that one ... I like how he made the spines ... they look really cool. And Spino's physique ... really nice and muscular ... I love the proportions ... beautiful piece.
-
This may sound stupid but ... have you tried contacting the other DarkJedi ... maybe he doesn't care about his account and would gladly turn it over ... he has some contact info on that main page of his.

I was trying to leave it a little vague but what I meant is ... the franchise characters (States, Posi, Archanos, Mako, etc ...) are trademarked, the game is trademarked but they can't trademark what you build with the game.
But the point is ... its their trademark ... and they WANT to put it in the comic book ... so they will allow it. If you try to put something in another comic book that is trademaked by them, THEN they might say no. But, why would they deny themsleves from doing something they WANT to do? -

I love it when people do such great things with a minimalist/animation style. Really cool ... or hot ... which ever you prefer beeing the desert and all ..

With all the amazing artists and photoshop workers around here (and those that would give anything to have another piece of their favorite hero, especially by Juggy [which would include me]), I'm suprised that noone has tried to pull the
Here is the 10K shot! thing!
(( look at the other numbers to confirm its fake ... but you have to agree that it does look pretty convincing ))
That is how we know this is a great community.
Just wanted to share my amazement.
Nice of you to do this Juggy -
Man this is a beautiful piece TA. I love all the details AoT on the roof, the nice framing done by the buildings, the expression in Sass and TA's face ... and the nice way the powers were done. Add the cool Oni in the corner and makes for a very very cool piece.
Gratz TA and bravo Brandon! -

- images must not be trademark violations
[/ QUOTE ]
Call me ignorant, but does this mean we cannot submit art of official City of Heroes/Villains characters (yes, that we have drawn ourselves)? Just making sure ^^""
[/ QUOTE ]
You can submit it. If there are trademarks on those characters (which is not the case for each of our characters), but if there was, they would own it anyway and they could decide if they allow it or now.
That is how I understand it. -
Oh and since I haven't seen it yet (I read fast though) let me welcome you to the friendliest part of the forums.
And I wanted to thank you for the your history ... I should be reading what you put up on Ex Libris per say right after this ... but one thing I couldn't pin point in your statement is how old you could be ... with your work, your degree and stuff you could/should be in your late 20s ... with your game references you should be 45+ ... but I just thought that was interesting .. It isn't really a question ...
Oh and btw ... watch out for that Thor's Assassin fellow ... if you happen to have some artsy skills ... he will have you drawing for him in no time flatOh and now he has corrupted a multitude of others around here ... so you probably won't see them coming.
Welcome and I think you could be pleasantly impressed by the creativity of our little community. -
Really cool piece Graver. I really like the style the flames have on the unmolested one ... the way her right hand comes through ... really cool.
That axe came out superbe and the clinging fog adds the nice desired spooky effect. Great piece man. -

Thornster
History as per Crey Industries
First spotted in the northern United-States, it is said the subject, Rick Calder, know to us as Thornster, is from a small Canadian city named Huntington.
Like most mutants, he has lived a very traditional childhood. He was doing great in school to the point where he had started the necessary studies with the objective of becoming a doctor in biology. And as with most of those gene degenerates, that is when the transformations started. Contrary to most though, he was in his late teens, but that does not make him any different for it. He is still a stinking mutant.
At first his cat got sick. They eventually found out it was from licking his skin. Then his skin hardened and grew thicker. Neighbours in his childhood town were quoted in local newspapers for having heard one night tremendous screaming and cries coming from the Calder house. A mattress full of holes surrounded by green stains were found by the curb the next morning. We suppose that that is when his spiny condition first appeared.
He now seems to have the skin oozing poison situation under control. This control is not necessarily good. He now seems to be able to line the spikes of his body with it and have it all disappear when he calms down. All, except the skin. He is easily recognized by his dark brown and orange hide.
If you see spikes sticking out of him, weather they be a dark yellow or an orange color walk away and call for back up, the subject is in a bad mood.
End of Crey Report
Physical Description
Thornster has a leathery rough hide that is a mix of orange and brown. He is stuck with the skin at all times but the shades do happen to move depending on his mood. His "Ultimate" form, when he is at his most dangerous, takes his normal lines pattern to a tigerish stripping. The same applies to his dark orange spikes (inlcuding his horns) the greater the rage ... the deadlier they seem. All that is cosmetics though, the business part of him remains pretty much the same.
Day to day, he will be seen out in about wearing only his colored hide and his reading glasses. His skin absorbs his excess poison so wearing clothes would be dangerous to those around him.
Personality
Thornster did finish his Doctorate in Biology with a specialization in genetic mutation but he developed a weird sense of humour during that time. To compensate for his often too technical explanations of certain problems his sense of humour revolves a lot around stating the obvious in situations where everyone knows what he is stating.
He is normally good humoured and keeps that smile of him when fighting villains because he is proud to be a hero and loves helping others. His control of dark energy is actually the most ironic thing to him since it is soooooo far from his personality. But being terrorized by a grinning hero is actually worst since you have no idea what he finds so funny.
==========================
You can see his cute face and his favorite battle stance in those links but as you can see from all his images, he is very proud of toys he has come accross fighting evil. -
Really cool drawing Rox! I hope it goes to color ...

Big Gratz Mardun!
The second one should be a completly diffrent experience now that the stress of "what to do" that comes with the first is gone.
