It looks like a good patch, from what the notes seem to indicate. Mito farms are dead, and the MM temp power should now work for Barracuda SF.
[/ QUOTE ]
And PvP drops are back, I think the new system will make them actually place them above purple recipes on the "rareness" scale. That Rep timer thing is long overdue to be revamped. It punishes people on teams and rewards kill stealing.
hmm, maybe im ranting in the wrong thread. -
Thats awesome EB it reminded me of a scene from Rodney Dangerfield's movie "Back to School"

Thornton Melon: Oh, yeah? Vanessa, let's talk about class for a minute, alright? Here's you and Giorgio in the guest room. A little classy, isn't it? Here's you and Giorgio in the rumpus room. Another classy one, huh? Ooh, this one, I can't figure out. There's you, there's Giorgio... What's with the midget over here?

although i suspect it wasn't even "PvPers" doing the farming anyways
[/ QUOTE ]
You would be surprised. When the recipes first came out everyone I saw farming them were PvPers then as the price of the recipes shot through the roof more and more "pure" PvErs started farming them.
[ QUOTE ]
So I guess all of the above was a long way of saying that i'm ok with pvp so far because i have personal goals but what keeps you guys around? Is it really just something else to do?
[/ QUOTE ]
Honestly, PvP is challenging, its fighting something with a brain. It's about trying to figure out what your opponent is going to do and develop a strategy to overcome that tactic.
Now this isn't to say that PvE is just about who has a better strategy "brute force" works in PvP just as it does in PvE.
I guess I PvP because its a challenge. Its the same reason I push speed on TFs/SFs so much, its a way to add some challenge to this game.
[ QUOTE ]
How the hell do you take down the mind control powerset?!? Good lord! Talk about total domination of a melee! That telekinesis power was never that amazing in pve!
[/ QUOTE ]
It used to be worse when they could perma mez you, a mind/fire dom was nasty stuff back then.
I think you play a dm/regen scrapper so unfortunately you are at a bit of a disadvantage to range-type characters. MoG used to break TK but honestly, I haven't fought a mind dom using TK since i13. Couple of ideas for you: remember if you are being repelled just turn and move in the direction you are being pushed, if you get far enough away TK will drop. If you see some friendly NPCs move in that direction, the TK (this also works for rad debuffs or snowstorm) with aggro those NPC and they start attacking the TKer.
[ QUOTE ]
You are a dirty player Masque
[/ QUOTE ]
Trust me, 90% of of the TKers out there will gladly push you into enemy NPCs so why not use this tactic right back? Now If your opponent drops TK as you are being pushed into enemy NPCs then yeah I wouldn't do this but that all comes with learning who you are playing against.
Dom have PFF now, so unless you can spike them they will typically get it immediately turn on PFF and run away to heal up. It is pretty hard to defeat almost any squishy now solo in pvp unless you have a good mez attack. Trollers/Corrs/Blasters/Stalkers all get hibernate. Blasters/Doms get PFF, and anyone can pick up phaseshift.
Anyway I hope you will keep trying PvP I think you will find it to be fun and challenging. Just remember zone pvp is not the only pvp out there, try some arena matches and you will see that not everyone uses trash talking as a 5th power pool. -
Hey look its VV.

We were flying until Romulus, I think a Kin would have be extremely helpful in dealing with the Traitor ambushes. -
yeah that was classic.
Me: "whats the last ticket above cap badge, 10,000?"
DC: "No you stupid Fleshy, it is 1,000."
Me: "oh crap, I hit that like 9,000 tickets ago"
DC: "Silly Human, prepare to be assimilated"
At least I think thats how it went... -
Actually DC there is a 7th (4th epic) influence badge. I think its for 4billion earned.
Ok not really, but man I love screwing with badgeheads. -
Listed updated. BurningBear I put you as a fire/therm if thats ok.

Wow. Good time on that.
However, when Sunstorm nerfs the ITF merits to 10, I'm personally holding you and FMP responsible...

Don't worry Flux, for every Speed ITF we run there are those running 3 hour ones to make up for it. -

As a side note, we will be shooting for about 45minutes +-10 for these runs as we will have players on the team who may not be used to running this TF/SF with us.
Please remember to buy purples and greens in the O-zone before you zone into to Cim.
Whats that, you don't know Sarrate's Ozone speed tp trick?
Go to the pillar of ice and flames, select the lvl 50 story arcs, the first one on either red/blue side is a Cim story arc, start it and zone to Cim then quit tf. -
For once, I'm not all that pumped up about double xp. I will be working that weekend as the jerk boss has decided to take that week off.
I'm almost out of slots on victory, and toons who need xp, so either I will just work on the (gasp) influence earned badge or I might play on a different server. -
Hello Victory!
This weekend the Intrepid Warriors will be running three speed Imperious Task/Strike Forces. I will be reserving 4 spots for IW players and opening up the remaining 4 spots for anyone who would like to join us on these runs.
I only ask that you bring slotted level 50 villain/hero who has a good amount of defense or stealthing capabilities. (Yes unfortunately in this day of 5 hour level 50's you have to request that people not bring unslotted characters).
One last thing, I will be listing slots as: Survivable Melee(this means you should be soft capped at minimum). Debuffer (rad/cold/therm/dark/sonic) any are fine. Buffer (honestly, mostly looking for therms/colds/sonics here). Kin (we like to herd massive groups for damage cap FS).
Just to answer some questions/comments before they are asked:
[ QUOTE ]
Can I bring a lowbie?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not trying to be a jerk about the level 50 thing, but there really isn't that much xp on a speed run, and lowbies tend to end up face down for much of the TF/SF which only causes frustration for them and does not help the team.
[ QUOTE ]
Speed runs, thats lame, I enjoy the content, running past everything ruins my immersion.
[/ QUOTE ]
It can be fun to see how fast and hard you can push your characters. Typically, when we have a new person join us on a speed run they have a blast.
[ QUOTE ]
The ITF is so easy, you can run it with any group, you must suck if you are telling us we must bring certain types of characters.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree that any group should be able to finish the ITF no matter what the make up of the group is, however, when shooting for speed a good balance of strong survivable toons with buffers/debuffers really can make a difference.
[ QUOTE ]
I hate you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes I know you do.

not even close to 2nd, I think I maybe in the top ten. I think it goes: DC, Rigid, Chad....then idk.

Interesting... I was on team Hammy with DC, and we did not split. The second I get on a team with Masque and Mental, however, and the team starts splitting constantly. I should have known all the team splitting issues I've been having were MG's fault!
[/ QUOTE ]
So true, we should always blame MG. -
Wb Kay, wondered where you went off too. I always used to get you mixed up with Ka ra.
