Very cool idea, and well-handled. -
I am so sick, it's not even funny. I even threw up pepto bismol.
-
Note: when I say "daddy" I mean me and when I say "new pair of shoes" I mean hookers and booze.
-
I am a hack.
Also: more people need to sign up for this, 'cos daddy needs a new pair of shoes. -
There is a certain element of a proctological exam gone bizarre.

You're horrible. Stop being horrible. This is about fun and nudity and me doing awesome pictures of people in classical art poses, not all this turmohel!
-
If you want to do a full contest, I will volunteer to draw some lineart for you to colour for some (supposedly) lucky winner.
-
Of course, you can trace from life, just to get the feel of objects and people down.
These don't all work for everyone, though. Some people will never learn a certain way, but may learn in another. -
I hope you're happy with the piece!

I'd like to voice my frustration with Dragonberry. Where do you get off, missy? WHERE DO YOU GET OFF!?

After some annoying CSS issues yesterday (
) and a quick and saucy drawing for the announcement (
), I announce:
The first ever Skinvitational!
Head to my journal to check out the details and to sign up. If you don't, you're a horrible person. That's all there is to it.
I've already got a couple keeners locked in and if there are too many people for my comfort (after all, almost 40 people expressed interest), I'll make a cut off, but for now, have at it.
(The link above goes to Tinyurl so as to respect the one-click rule! You have to manually click to enter my NSFW journal.) -

WHY DID YOU LOOK AT ME WHEN YOU SAID THAT?! -
Way to piss off TA, Jomaro. Now he's gonna be stomping his little feet all day and Sassy will be all, "You calm down or you are NOT getting any dessert, mister!"

I'm different in this regard; I insist on full payment before I even lift a pencil/wacom tablet. Because I've been screwed three times now.
I thought maybe that was a little harsh and I dropped my guard over the holidays. I had a guy contact me to do a piece featuring 3 characters... so I told him I'd go ahead and model the characters in 3D for him to approve before I required payment. This was not my normal method - I was just feeling soft-hearted. I spent 30+ hours modelling the characters. I sent the guy screenshots and... nothing. Never heard back. Several months and emails later and I assume I'll never hear back.
I'm back to my old rules of never lifting a pencil/wacom tablet until I have full payment up front. Don't wanna pay beforehand? That's fine... I got a list of other pieces to make.

Your situation is quite a bit different, though. It's clearly far more involved to do a "rough" of a modelled character than it is for me to just sketch something out.
I don't mind if I were to get ripped off for an hour or two's work. I'd be hella pissed if it were 30 hours. -
If just one person commissions me instead of MMOArt, then I'll say it has all been worthwhile.
-
Personally, I don't take a deposit at all for just this reason. I won't even accept payment unless someone really insists upon it until I've finished a rough sketch (and had the client "sign off" on it) and am actively working on the piece.
I'd be horrified if I took someone's money and then they got lost in the shuffle or I couldn't get them something for their money within a few weeks at most.
I don't know how fast Jomaro works, or how many pieces he works on at the same time, but it's clearly not working out. -
Thanks. It's a fun character. Someone called her the pirate Molotov Cocktease.
