  1. Maxstorm is right - servers down - but we know they're down cos we can check - downtime expected 3 hours i believe.

I just get annoyed with people who say COH/COV users have no right to complain when the servers are down - devs are too busy to update server status/tell us etc etc -that's not happening today though.

    Hopefully us soon
  2. It's a funny thing. You always get people posting there very Orwellian comments about anyone who asks why the devs can't update us on the server status - things like "well - if you bothered to check you'd notice the server status hasn't been updated since...". Ridiculous stuff. It's simple. We pay to play the game each month. It's not a free service. We expect to be kept up to date. Nothing more than that.

    Complicated?
  3. You know - it's weird those people who post comments like "I've been playing XXX years - it's always been that way - so don't complain", "The devs are so busy so you shouldn't expect them to tell you what's going on". Paraphrased, I know, but...

To a paying customer --- If I acted like that in my business - people would give me the respect I deserve - none.

So all you COH police you say we shouldn't complain - just quit it. We have every right to.

    Cant log in

Indeed - why can't they at least tell people it's going to take longer than usual. Sucks.
  5. Yeah - that's right - what's wrong with people venting their frustration out here. It's a bit nutty that people tell you not to post your complaints 'cos this is supposed to be a player only help thread - where else are you supposed to say these things? Watch out - the COH police are about...
  6. Well - this isn't my thread - just read it and responded cos it's frustrating. The last person to respond with a suggestion of who to contact about this issue was helpful - so there you go...
  7. Hehe - noone expects a response from other players as to why it's happening - it's more a gripe thing and hope at least ONE dev reads the thread and bothers to do something about it... not expecting much on that front though.
  8. Well - that is ridiculous then - not updated since September 7th? More grrr's - more grumbles - and evern more grrr's
  9. Huh - that's exactly what I was thinking. Is it really that hard? Nah - I do website maintainence etc for a living - even the poxy sites get that right... grrrr. grumble... grrrr.
  10. Wish they'd just combine regular Monday maintenance with i16 and future upgrades. Sucks living in Australia when you keep getting the double whammy in prime playing time for us.
  11. Maybe this problem needs a thread to itself. Might get noticed by the devs then - though they surely must be aware of it...
  12. Heh - I tested with 50 refreshes - always the same old date comes up. A shame really as it is an easy fix. Have no idea why the devs don't sort it out.
  13. Actually - it only ever shows the wrong date for me. Hope they fix that soon - it's an easy fix.
  14. shield/axe - soft def capped by 35 - good aoe kb and damage - fun to play - and so rarely die it's funny. way more fun than that boring stone. shield charge - if slotted right - without hasten - up every 37 seconds. it's the best tank i've ever played. you could switch axe for mace easily though - down to preference. Recently did an ae mission with 54 bosses - someone agroed 2 other groups and i was the only one alive. Still going 5 mins later when everyone got back after making a coffee or something. Sure - a stone/ could do that - but they wouldn't have killed more than half of a huge pack in that time.

    Maintenance

Ah - and also - about powerleveling. Go to PI and you'll see real powerleveling. How do you think those companies that spam us all the time to buy "new" lvl 50 toons in 3 days do it? Nothing new there.
  16. TheUndertaker_NA

    Maintenance

Um. Abuses of AE? Well, if people powerleveled during that time because it was faulty, that isn't an abuse of the system - it means the system didn't work from the beginning. And farming? It's not a new thing - it's always been there. Nothing was ever done to stop it in PI. Perhaps the devs stuffed up AE - don't blame the people who play the game. They're all paying customers.

    Maintenance

Devs - is it so hard to give advanced warning about servers coming down? I doubt this continual unannounced "server maintenance", sometimes on a daily basis, is really that urgent. Let people know what and why you're doing what you're doing. We pay to play this game, it's not free. Pay us a bit of courtesy.
  18. Another post from an Aussie - COH going down everyday at prime playing time for us is, to say the least, offputting. Can't you vary the times you pull the servers down? - or put different servers down at different times?. Or something. Not everyone playing this game lives in the U.S.

I think that's missing the point - would it really be so hard to email people ingame in advance to notify of non-maintaince schedules? I don't think so.

[/ QUOTE ]And I doubt people would pay attention to it to begin with. I check my email almost every other day.

[/ QUOTE ]whether you doubt people would check or not is irrelavant - at least the information is there - and easy to access

Couldn't you send in-game emails in advance about non-scheduled maintainence to everyone if you know it's going to occur. Not just post it in obscure forums that most people don't even know about?

[/ QUOTE ]If people don't know about the official City of forums it's not because they are obscure, it's because they choose to be ignorant. The official site and forums has always been the source ot get info, including a link at the log in screen and in game tips on the load screens saying such things.

[/ QUOTE ]I think that's missing the point - would it really be so hard to email people ingame in advance to notify of non-maintaince schedules? I don't think so. And actually, I doubt most people are choosing to be ignorant, they probably just don't have any idea that the information exists.

  23. Lately, the server seems to go down regularly on non-maintenance days, and with no warning. At least give some advanced notification - don't just post a message up half an hour before you decide to bring the servers down.
