I realize the verdict may be unpopular among free agents.
Either way, it was decided via Captain's vote. If you want to play, you can still play, just form your own team. If you wanted to have a say in the ruling, you probably should have formed a team earlier.
People are tired of being forced to hold hands or mentor people in the PvP community. Some teams may take that upon themselves, and that's their perogative. I am not going to force people to do it.
It's not going to change unless Captain's decide it needs to be changed before the draft date, which I see being very unlikely. -
The final rules have been decided and will not be easy to change, especially when speaking in terms of draft rules and general team guidelines.
As some of you may have caught wind of, the following has been decided:
THERE IS NO RULE THAT ANYBODY ON ANY ROSTER MUST BE PLAYED, IT WILL BE AT CAPTAIN'S DISCRETION.
IMPORTANT FOR DRAFTEES: TEAMS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO DRAFT, TEAMS WILL ONLY DRAFT AS MANY PEOPLE AS THEY WANT. Draft order will be serpentine in a random order decided by an in-game diceroll.

The best way to ensure that you will participate in the league is to join the core of a team or FORM YOUR OWN. You still have until Saturday to make a team, and you are more than welcome to look at the current free agents and pull from them.
The reasoning behind this is that if every draftee was forced to be picked, most of them would see very little playtime if any. Most teams already know who they want to draft, and it's generally only a few people. If I forced teams to draft every round until the pool ran dry, each team would end up with 5+ draftees, most of which would never play. This is something that I have talked about with all of the Captains, and they all pretty much agreed on it.
If you were floundering on the idea of forming a team, now is a good time to take action and make one. If you don't, I can't guarantee that you will be drafted or if you do that you will play much outside of practice.

I'm kidding, of course. They're usually pretty good about that sort of thing... But with recent history being what it is, and the new servers apparently being the evil monstrosities that they are, you never know.

If the maintenance finished on time, I would have been surprised. I expected some delay... That said if the servers are down until 11 PM central again, I might be a little unhappy.

Quit acting like it happens all the time. It's not like they're putting on a major update or anything, on top of making sure the new hardware they just installed works.........oh wait, they are.
To clarify, this one makes sense, they are changing a lot of stuff in one day.

I don't see an issue with taking TF... It's still a fun power imo, and fire/em builds aren't very tight, not to mention Blasters are pretty easy to build to begin with. Also, as a fire/em unless you want to waste slots on a hold proc, the Stuns from the EM attacks are the only way to de-toggle people.

I assume we take off for Thanksgiving and if it runs into christmas we take that off as well? I know Thanksgiving is on a Thursday but in the past we had travel issues with people. Couple small updates on the OP, just laying out the timeline mostly.
For those of you too lazy to look back at it, this is a copy/paste of it...
"THE DRAFT will happen on Sunday, September 25th, signups must be in by Sept 23rd. Any free agent sign ups after the 23rd will be put into the supplementary draft pool.
Following that the pre-season will be for 2 weeks, the league will run for 6-8 weeks (depending on amount of teams) with a post-season/playoff running 2-3 weeks." -
If you want to start practicing now, I encourage it, for all the teams. I know Exile, Shenanigans, and enjoi have expressed interest in starting to practice, and from what I hear it sounds like you guys are looking for that also. Feel free to start setting up regular practices and such things.

We are looking at mid-october for the start date, the draft will be on the 25th. After that there will be a 2 week pre-season which will include scheudled matches that don't count for points, but will be an opportunity for teams to field-test their draftees, as well as time to PL/IO/Accolade toons where needed.
That's the basic timeframe for this stuff... The league will probably run 6-8 weeks depending on how many teams we get, with a single elimination playoff at the end. -
