I'll be there, have the rad and the bubbler ready. A mate of mine will join if we need space. Cold/Ice I think
-
Yeah, looking forward to it
I'll ask Juniper to switch from the empath to something else ... we all know how Tommy feels about people stealing his chances to heal and about people who use inspirations while he is on the job
PS: I don't trust Juniper on that empath in any case ... I could swear she doesn't heal my scrappers on purpose for the soul goal of using vengeance/resurrection ...she has a mean streak. -
Hey Ramon
Sure thing
I will also be spending some time in the shard tonight and tomorrow and Friday after my run on the STF in preparation for the TF, so I might be seeing you there.
Might want to do the other 3 TF's over the course of the following month, so I will keep you in mind -
Righty, it looks like we have a full team for the event now of people who can definitely make the TF.
Sorry, for those who maybe wanted to be do it, but as you know, one can't work with maybes
The roster for the TF
1. Nine Claws - tank
2. Jules Grimm - blaster
3. Seth Grimm - blaster
4. Ullok - blaster
5. Thabo - scrapper/fender
6. Tommy Saf - controller/fender
7. Nightmarer - defender
8. Juniper - defender -
I can sponsor our ventrilo server, it's dedicated and have multiple channels
-
Ramon, hehehe, sounds good, if you can make it that is. No promises for you and False (he asked first though, so will see who of you gets here first)
Nine Claws, the tank we have actually wants to do it with his blaster, so it is good if you bring your tanker along
This is what we have then:
1. Nine Claws - Tank - fire/axe
2. Jules - Blaster - nrg/ice (50) - light/tp
3. Ullok - Blaster - fire/psi (50)
4. Thabo - Defender - rad/sonic (50) - might bring a ma/wp (50)
5. Tommy - Defender/Troller (still to be confirmed)
6. Nightmarer - Defender - rad/sonic (44)
7. Seth - Blaster - nrg/elec (50)
8. Ramon or False Fiction -
Ok, so thus far we have the following
1. Seth - Tank - ss/inv (50) - flight/tp
2. Jules - Blaster - nrg/ice (50) - light/tp
3. Ullok - Blaster - fire/psi (50)
4. Thabo - Defender - rad/sonic (50) - might bring a ma/wp (50)
5. Tommy - Defender/Troller (still to be confirmed)
6. Nightmarer - Defender - rad/sonic (44)

Oh yes, the TF is for levels 40 - 50 and this is the mission breakdown
1: Defeat 50 Nemesis in Cascades.
Simple defeat 50, they can be found mostly all over the zone. with a few 50s on the team, this won't take long.
2: Defeat Nemesis base leaders...rescue 4 hostages (Cascades)
4 hostages to find, and defeat named nemesis boss and his room.
3: Defeat Nemesis base leaders...rescue 5 hostages (Real world, can be Steel, perez... anywhere in paragon city)
Just like mission 2, 5 hostages, defeat named nemesis boss and his room. (if there isn't a named nemesis boss, then last room should do.)
4: Defeat all Nemesis in base. (Cascades)
Defeat all.
5: Rescue Old Fred...rescue 1 hostage (Cascades)
one hostage to rescue, vs. Circle of Thorns
6: Defeat all Circle cultists...find the book. (Founders' Falls)
defeat all, plus find the correct glowie.
7: Free captive natives...6 hostages to save (Cascades)
rescue 6 hostages, vs. the dreaded Rularuu. stealth does not work vs. the giant eyeballs.
8: Defeat all foes in base...find intel (Cascades)
defeat all with nemesis AND rularuu in mission.
9: Defeat all foes in caverns.. the first seal (Cascades)
defeat all with nemesis and rularuu, click the giant spinning ball.
10: Defeat all foes in caversn...the second seal (Cascades)
defeat all with nemesis and rularuu, click the giant spinning ball.
11: Secure 3rd seal...the 3rd seal (Cascades)
defeat all with nemesis and Circle of Thorns, click giant spinning ball.
12: Secure 4th seal...the 4th seal (Cascades)
defeat all with nemesis, find glowie indicating 4th seal was taken.
13: Defeat Nemesis Army for information...100 nemesis (Cascades)
Just like the first mission, only now 100 must fall.
14: Defeat General Fort and his staff...the 4th seal. (Cascades)
only have to defeat named boss, his room, and get the 4th giant spinning ball.
15: Defeat Ruladak the Strong..defeat Ruladak the Strong. (Cascades)
Just need him and his room, but nearly impossible to get there without fighting your way there. Bring pets, Bring -regen. he's big and ugly. He is VERY tough, but he has to be, since you're fighting a GOD. -
We are making a run at the Shardow TF on Saturday.
We want to start at 14:00 GMT
1. Tank - ss/inv (50) - flight/tp
2. Blaster - nrg/ice (50) - light/tp
3. Blaster - fire/psi (50)
4. Defender - rad/sonic (50)
5.

No worries, was just saying you can choose either of those
Really looking forward to it!
-
Heya
My rad/sonic is 47 now, so it will be ready for the TF on Friday so it's either that or the ff/psi -
Righty, I am good to go on the 29th, I will either have that FF/PSI or the RAD/Sonic good to go.
-
Hehehe, no worries bud
Don't think it's a shortage of FF fenders, but merely a case of them sitting on a shelf somewhere and not being utilized
-
Hey, if you guys are still up for that STF with an all defender team give me a shout. I have a lvl 50 FF/Psi fender which is gathering dust and I have a soon to be 50 Rad/Sonic
-
Psy
I am more than happy to take you on on that ice/em of yours. Pity only me, TG and Crystal were on Test tonight.
Was fun, thanks guys. Crystal ... mate, don't cash cheques your build can't handle.
10/10 for not retreating mateThanks for the fun

Crystal
My ADSL line got capped, so I am dead in the water till tomorrow or the day after that (depending on when I get money to buy another GB or so)
Sorry I wont be attending the event tonight unless by some miracle I can beg/borrow or steal another account for tonight.
Hopefully I'll see you tonight, if not then I will arrange for us to have a match sometime early in the new month -
HAHAHAHAHAHA @ Maelwys
Classic ... good thinking there! So ... anyone around willing to confuse me the next this this happens so I can "make a difference" to our great little pvp'ing community? -
Tainted Greek and Spag
Yes, I suppose ganking the hell out of him will not be a bad thing in such a case ... only problem from what I've seen is that when ever the villains defaint side get this certain player in a hectic hold or are near to killing him, that he teleports himself away in a jiffy
I am kinda waiting for a ice and thermal defender to join the little base parking empath so he can have the full array of buffs
Will start posting pictures of this "offender" soon :P hehehe -
Hahahahaha @ Spag
Wish I was that easyThe specific person I have in mind parks his (or his brother's, not sure, a BS'er of note) empath in a good spot and he never comes out of the base, and in effect just re-buffing himself on the whole time (with his brother or his own second account, not sure)
When you query this player about why he does this he will happily switch to a villain (most likely the stalker) and would then pick on the squishies in your team!
Hehehe, suppose a little argument over inspiration is nothing compared to that kinda buffing -
Spag
Read again ... I never said it's cheating. I just think it does not reflect on the true build of the toon.
I don't consider popping inspirations as cheating. If it was then it would not have been allowed in PvP areas. That is why I agree with Maelwys to the point that it does equal out some of the nasty things that gets thrown in your way in a pvp match -
Oh yes, I just thought of something
What is your take on the empath(s) in RV (Defiant side) in team with a scrapper or a blaster (no names of course), buffing the hell out of the scrapper/blaster and with a perma lock for an emergency teleport in light of our inspiration discussion?
Just a renewable form of inspirations I suppose :P hehehehe -

Please listen to the people who are in large numbers telling you that your chosen power set choices dont perform so well in PvP, why would they lie?
[/ QUOTE ]
And if a large group of people were to tell you that you ARE a brute and if you jump of a 80 story building you will only take 80 damage and not die you would believe it?
Hehehehe ... sorry, I am not part of the "flock" and I don't have a "group" mentality, maybe one of the reasons I prefer my melee toons above any other toons. I choose to try things out for myself and then make an informed decision about it
PS: And you can have your own views about it ... as I said ... I won't mind if you use it if we duel at some stage, I just wont -
Maelwys
No worries, to each his own with his preferences. I find it very hard to imagine me playing a stalker or a MM at some stage, even though I have a SS/WP brute which I love to death.

You don't need to run an "AT Killer" cycle, there are plenty of combinations that are fairly evenly matched. "Stone versus Stone" is more fun than "Stone versus Scissors" or "Stone versus Paper". "Apple versus Orange" (wierd builds fighting each other, neither designed specifically to kill the other) is the most fun IMO.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's all about the fun and striving to better yourself -
Maelwys
To a point a agree with you about the counters, but then the question should be asked. Do you really want to put your ma/wp scrapper up against something with like a ice/kin, ice/rad or fire/em?
Fight fire, with fire ...
That is the beauty behind the PvP aspect for me.
I guess it depends on what type of PvP you are interested in. I rarely do arena matches and prefer zonal PvP, where I do make use of inspirations (mostly when you have 2 or 3 vs 1)
I've seen my mate on his kin/elec draining a lieut of most of his endurance in 1 or two shots, even if you have all a full tray of blues you would be in a world of trouble if he hits you and drop your toggles.
So why bring something to the fight which can be easily hit, or which does not have a high recovery rate? Wouldn't you rather bring something like a SR scrapper?
I suppose if one reasons like that it might mean that the other party will then just bring a AT killer designed to kill yours and so the cycle continues, but that is the still the beauty of the PvP system.
You can choose to use, or not use inspirations. Both is fair
If I beat something which didn't use inspirations I feel pride in my build, if I get beaten by something which didn't use inspirations I feel that he deserved it. If I kill something which did use inspirations I also have get a sense of pride, and if I loose to something which used inspirations I will get back up and try to kill it again even if I might loose again
My own personal view on PvP'ing ...
