Hahaha - I just looked into ordering it via Wal-Mart online. I can:

A) Send it to a Wal-Mart in my area. Will arrive sometime between Oct 6th to Oct-11th.
B) Send it to my house. Not a bad deal, except that unless I want to pay an extra 9 bucks or 16 bucks, it won't arrive until Oct. 5th, and that's at the earliest.

If they wanted to have it Wal-Mart exclusive for a week, honestly they're doing a really poor job of getting my business. Very poor execution I must say. I know things happen like this in the business world all the time. Just regrettable that it has happened in this case.

Also, what is this I keep hearing about PlayNC no longer accepting Mastercard? I had asked before but never received clarification.

*sigh* Called about 15 Wal-Marts here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to check. Couple of them here actually knew about it, but none of them had seen it yet. Really disappointing. Kind of like being told your getting a Red Ryder bb-gun for Christmas, only to open the last box and find a pair of sox and a note for an IOU.

Are you kidding? If they change Hamidon to *anything* other than a 2 hour session of Dominate on Auto-fire, I'll be thrilled. I don't care *what* Hamidon becomes. Task Force AV, SHOE Quartermaster, New Contact for MAGI After Azuria Finally Gets Canned. As long as the encounter becomes *interesting* again.

If they go the way you suggest great. Maybe that's where the Hamidon costume salvage for the Hamidon comes from - bits of real Hamidon left over from the combined might of joint hero/villain attack to clear the Hive once and for all. Happens in the near future and they travel back to our time. That's it!

I really am glad to know there will be two completely separate teams. And glad to see more information on the overarching storyline. This was one of the things that brought me to the game!

I have to agree with Taser in this case. I don't believe it will kill CoH/CoV any more than WoW killed all the other fantasy MMO's (arguable I admit). Anytime a new MMO comes out, no matter what type, some players leave. But with Cryptic supporting both, I think we will see some innovations come as a result.

And as much as I love The Council/5th Reich, Rikti makes a better case for itself. There are so many dangling and loose ends in terms of story advancement there. Why did the Rikti originally attack? What happened to Hero 1? Etc, etc. Plus, as pervasive as they are in terms of story (Lost, Rikti, RCS, invasion, etc.) there are no AV's for them yet.

Well, as far as value as long as it's in the $30 range it balances out. At least gets pretty close to it.

$9.99 Online version = bonus items without 1 month free
$30 - In-store version = bonus items + 1 month paid game time

So that part, while I'm not thrilled, is okay. I know they're in business and this is a perfect opportunity to get some new customers. I also know we will have access to the items if we want to wait. Just rather disappointing.

And what is the deal with the Mastercard? Has this been confirmed that online they won't accept it?

Hmm... Wal-mart not affected you say? I know it's just a week, and I don't mean to be cynical. But does this stink of interference from the world's largest retailer to anyone else or what? I may or may not get it in the store to have it a week early. The cost balances out, I know. But it really leaves a not so pleasant taste in my mouth. *sigh*

Have to agree with Hospitality on this. Don't see why the change was needed, let alone not documented. I have tried 3 separate raids on Victory - only 1 was successful. The other two were total clusters due to griefers. Now, not only will we have to deal with griefers, we will have to deal with players who with the best of intentions make an ill-timed attack.

Please devs, if you want to make something more challenging, this is really not the way to do it. All this does is add to your already VERY frustrated player base.

Finally got in there and wanted to add my thoughts. First off, even though I usually avoid PvP, this zone is too good to pass up. The zone changes are great, and the whole thing was just incredibly fun. Even when i got mobbed by 12 villains, I really didn't mind. There are still some issues, as it took 14 of us working together to almost kill Black Scorpion, then of course the zone reverts. Glad that part is fixed, although they might want to look at the AV difficulty in here. Not as much so as in missions, but maybe cut it back a bit. Overall, had a tremendous time. Agree, the base camping is an issue, but not any more so than in other zones, and I am sure that once it hits live this will lessen. Thanks devs for a job well done.
