  1. The AES does NOT connect to 9 aux items like the patch notes seems to indicate it does. It only connects to the 1 closest item.

Chat tells are still being eaten be the system.

The friends window still keeps popping up if it's not docked to the chat tabs.

Nice to see that massive and game breaking issues like that badge were given the attention they deserved instead of these things that are actually IMPORTANT...

stop me if I'm wrong here...

    This thread started on 11/20.

We got a patch on 11/21.

    We have had nothing since.

Given the (IMHO) very useful feedback presented in this thread, when can we expect any of that to get integrated into I13??

    [/ QUOTE ]

It is a bit disturbing. I hear that there's still an issue with items not being able to be placed on two of the walls of each room, and that the fix to the AES hasn't happened. That's just two things that really need to be fixed before any serious base building will be able to be done by me, and I'm sure by a number of other people.

I hope that these fixes sneak into the update we're sure to get before I13 goes live.
  3. ThrillKill...are you forgetting that now at this point in the game, one can run in SG mode and STILL gain INF?

It may only be 50% of what was generated by not running in SG mode, but it certainly is better than the 0% that was given before.

I currently pay just over 100k a month for rent on the base that I have right now. After this change I'm looking at only paying about 3k.. AT MOST. We were making it just fine the old way, and with the new way we'll pull even farther ahead quicker. One only needs to pop into SG mode for at most a couple of minutes and you will have all the prestige you need to pay for this small increase in rent that your base might be having. Is that such a burden?

Any change will sadly affect some people in a slightly more negative way than others. That's just how it works. Remember the adage of pleasing all of the people all of the time?

Yes, there have been things that have been asked for for some time that aren't currently implemented. Is it sad that some of them haven't' been done yet. Sure thing, but the level of spleen I'm hearing from you makes it sound as though there's nothing positive at all in the upcoming changes.

From what I gather reading some of the other forums, there was an even more extensive base revamp that was being worked on that had to be scrapped because it made some thing even worse. That's how programming goes. Sometimes things work better and sometimes they don't. Maybe some of the changes you wanted were in the functionality they had to scrap, and most likely they'll be bringing it back in at some point.

I, for one, have faith in the process.
  4. Perhaps I am missing something, but why would a person NOT want to make their base a secure base for the lower half of the sizes?

I've heard it said that there will be a "base raid flag" at some point in the future. Will that flag be perhaps just the distinction between having a hidden base and a secure base?
  5. Our supergroup is absolutely blessed to have a talented artist, Commander Crimson, in our group. For over a year, he's been making Bruce Timm style drawings of most of our characters. I'd like to present a couple of the "posters" he's made of those images.

    Enjoy.

And yes.. PinUp Girl is in one of those pictures..
  6. I would also like the ability to promote people (or demote for that matter) who are offline. It's a major PITA sometimes to get schedules to synch and such and the ability to do this would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Like everyone here I think this has the potential to be something that will breathe new life into the game. The potential for this is as much awesome in it's potential as it is scary in it it's implementation. There are several features that I'd like to see as part of this.

    1) ability to select more than "generic warehouse map" "generic sewer map" "generic cave map" and "generic office map". I really don't think that we'll have full design control of the maps. I highly doubt that we'll be able to edit them room per room as like we can with the bases. The ability to select between x number of maps of each style is _probably_ where closer to what we're going to be seeing.

    2) some way to limit who can play the missions. I would like to make PERSONALIZED missions for my SG. Missions based SOLELY on some of the characters in my group, and perhaps around my characters as well. I wouldn't want ever Tom, Dick and Mighty Man to be running these missions. Would I want to make some general content ones for everyone? Sure, but the ability to custom tailor some missions for friends will be a big selling point of this.

this being said, I have some predictions about how this will all be implemented.

    1) It will not be until I14 or I15 at least.

    2) the mob spawns and ratios of Minion/Lt/Boss/EB will not be uber tweakable.

    3) Exp and Inf and Salvage drops will be solely based on existing formulas. We won't be able to edit them. (if anything they'll have a built in factor that will make them less attractive as far as exp/inf and salvage, just to curb any potential abuse)

    4) We will not be able to include things like ambushes into missions.

    5) enemies will still be limited on their current level spread. I really don't think we'll be seeing level 52 hellions.

Now, I'm hoping that the system will be more flexible than what I'm foretelling here. Even if it is it will STILL be a WONDERFUL addition to the game, and one that i will use with GLEE.
  8. I was one of the folks who was saying that I didn't see how they'd be doing this on a per server basis. I was CONVINCED that this would be a global option. Color me wrong.

Lunch will be a little cheaper today since I can just eat this crow here.

I was shocked when i read this announcement. From going to initially not being part of I12 at all, to something that is this generous ( I _almost_ think it's too generous to a fault) and going to be launched WITH I12 tells me me even more about how the Devs are doing what they can to make us a happy playerbase.

We certainly can't have everything our way, and i wouldn't expect it to be that way. I'm REALLY looking more and more forward to seeing what the future holds for this game.
  9. Anonym,

If the respec was given out when I11 went live, NOT ONE of all of the new characters that are being created would have gotten it.. AT ALL, because they were CREATED AFTER THE FREESPEC WAS GIVEN OUT. Delaying the respec was the ONLY way to allow the majority of people to be able to get it.

Many times people make a character, and discover that a power isn't what they wanted, the animation doesn't turn them on, find that it doesn't suit their character concept. This is especially true when new powersets are made available. Very little in the way of guides are available for the new sets. People are going to misunderstand how things work, ESPECIALLY with these powers being new.

By giving out the respec later, the Devs are being QUITE thoughtful to all of these new characters. If they had given out the respec BEFORE all of these characters had been then it would almost have been a slap in the face to all of the people wanting to play these new characters, as it would have ONLY rewarded older characters. With this way, both new AND old can take the benefit of it.

Can we PLEASE get a good reason for this? I've not read one, and it would put my mind at ease if there was a reason for not handing out the respec now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Could it be that the respec is being delayed so that people can get a feel for the two new powersets and have an opportinity to correct any oversights or errors they might make in the early starges of building one of those characters?
  11. Well, as Lighthouse said, he may not be on the "team" for CoH right now, but having him more in house with the rest of the devs can only be a good thing.

It is just me or does news of this merger seem to get better and better each day? I really am seeing so few downsides to this.
