  1. Since I have the inf to email to my new characters, I'll buy the accuracy TOs, but that's it, and even then I sometimes forget to maintain them. You can get to level 12 and slot DOs so quickly that anything else really is a waste of time for me. Even maintaining the DOs until level 22 (when I slot IOs) can be a waste of time depending on how my teaming is going.

    A Short PUG Play

Honestly, I'm still not sure if that's an actual ingame transcript or fiction. I swear I've been in groups like that before.
  3. I'll also put in a vote for the Thesaurus. After plugging in Illusion and Kinetics, I got the name Dynamic Head Trip for my Ill/Kin controller. My DP/Kin Corruptor is Electromotive Duet.

Another good one is an online translator. Try a couple of interesting words in other languages. That's how my radiation defender became Prof. Kernkraft.

I never said anything about not using them, I just said don't buy them. Considering how quickly you can reach level 12 for DOs, there is no need to buy TOs.
  5. Helpful tips:

    1. As already said, inspirations are useless if they aren't used. Just don't waste them, either. Always keep an Awaken on hand, if not for you then for a teammate.
    2. Never, ever buy training origin enhancements. Use the ones you find, but don't waste your money buying them. Slotting a 10% damage bonus may sound nice when you're new, but not-so-nice when you realize that only means you're doing an extra 1-2pts of damage. Save up for the better ones.
    3. For enhancements: TO=Training Origin, DO=Dual Origin, SO=Single Origin, IO=Invention Origin.
    4. Read through the player guides for your preferred powersets/archetypes, but don't be intimidated by the listed enhancements. SOs and basic IOs are just fine, you don't NEED "the uber" IO sets.
    5. IOs don't degrade like other enhancements, but their bonuses are tied to their level. But even the lower level 10 and 15 IOs can help out as you can sometimes get them pretty cheap while you're saving up for better ones.

    Naming Policy

    And the word is good:
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Your character "Walkure" in its current form does not appear to violate any rules, copyright or otherwise.

I wasn't expecting any problem either, but I didn't want to start investing a lot of time and care into this character only to have it taken away. I'm still glad I played it safe and asked, and now I'm ready to smack some evil-doers!

    Naming Policy

I guess I'll just play it safe and petition myself. I wonder how often the GMs see that?
I had no intention of copying the CoH character Valkyrie, I had completely forgotten about her existence. I just went with Walkure because I am a Wagner fan and thought it was unique. I'll update this thread with the results.

    Naming Policy

Hmm, I'm not sure if I'm in violation of the naming policy. After seeing how cool the Valkyrie costume from the Mac SE is, I picked it up. I just made a BS/SD scrapper with the costume. Sadly, I only now remembered that there is a CoH character named Valkyrie, and I named my character Walkure (the German name from Wagner's opera). Would that put me in violation of the naming policy? I thought about sending an ingame petition to ask, but I thought I would try here, first (to waste your time instead of a GM's, hehe).

Does anyone else feel screwed over since PlayNC won't accept mastercards to buy serials online?

Hell yes, I do. Which is why I'm taking a good long look at www.epassporte.com as a workaround.
