Personally I have an ATI card ... (well actually two) and while for most things it really rocks, for CoH it sucks. When I turn on CoH, I'm quite confused as to why I have issues. There is a complicated thread on how to make sure your computer doesn't crash when running ATI cards and seriously, do yourself a favor and stick with nVidia if you can.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Looking for ATI logo at the bottom of this page. Hmmm... that's odd, there's a nVidia logo, but not one for ATI....

Perhaps they're trying to tell us something?

(Then again, there's a Pentium logo down there too. O.o )

I had a moment a few days ago. I was telling my mother about someone's age in relation to my own. He is a few years older, so I said he was higher level than I am.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Were you talking about BA?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No... is there a reason I should be telling my mother about BA?

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would be more than just a few years older...

There's no such thing as a cheap laptop when it comes to powering it up for heavy gaming use...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Get a cheap laptop for your classwork and carrying around campus. Cheap enough so that you won't mind so much when your freshman roomate spills beer or other fluids on it. Back up your data often. Lug a desktop down if you want to be gaming, and invest in some plastic sheeting.

But really- your first year of college... shouldn't you be studying instead of playing CoH?

LOL, yeah, but someone had to pretend to be a responsible adult.

    On a lighter note, you have a sex-a avatar ;}

He seems like an AwSoMe guy that knew how to make fun for himself out of other peoples expense! I say 3 cheers for someone that knows the truth about online gamming! (To ruin others expierence

    in all honesty though, I hate peeps like him, at your point instead of crying ide wish horrible things on him, rather it be (and would range from his or her's actions) a sore throat, kick in the balls, fell [censored] first on a broom stick, got into a car wreck, gave me his address, to see him on news "Mr so and so got hit from a semi truck on I275, then was thrown from his car, fell infront of another semi which hit him and tossed him into another truck carring small scropions in the back, where he was later found dead from multiple stings" or just plain old death, which usualy happens anyways so I dont feel bad to ask for it ;}

Now, if your one of the few....or many that play so much it gives no time for a sex life......then its permited to cry, and ill cry with ya, as long as my girl friend gives me permission to do so ;]

But for all we know you could be getting paid to continue the rants of someone that no one really cares about, just to have more peeps buy his pathedic book.

    in which case, I think option 4 of my wants for someone would better suffice ;}

Because its not as warrented for option 6 lol

Oh my god....he's five. I'm sure of it. He's five years old. I had a girlfriend at 5, so it's possible and not entirely impressive, but even then I'm pretty sure I could arrange my thoughts mo' betta than this.

  11. One one level, I like the idea of power color customization. I suspect we'll see some peope doing some very cool stuff with the power colors, and I look forward to some interesting new visuals.

On another level- letting people customize individual powers (as opposed to setting colors for the set) seems like a recipe for trouble- or at least some godawful ugly color combinations just to be obnoxious. Think, for examples, of all the visual effects a fire controller can drop at once- and what it will look like if every power is a different color of the rainbow. My eyes already hurt.

The image of a land dotted with two foot tall pingus made me grin.
  14. From today's Word of the Day:

    [ QUOTE ]

    pingo

    PRONUNCIATION:
    (PING-go)

    MEANING:
noun: A mound or hill of soil-covered ice in permafrost, pushed up by the pressure of water seeping in.

    ETYMOLOGY:
    From Inuit pinguq/pingu (small hill).

    USAGE:
"Out on the Arctic coastal plain below the northern foot of the Brooks, the land is dotted with pingoes a foot or two tall."
Craig Medred; River Dance on the Hulahula; Anchorage Daily News (Alaska); Jul 31, 2005.

  17. [ QUOTE ]

I told my mother that if I ever got married that I'd like to get hitched in a Las Vegas chapel while dressed as a superhero/Elvis/alien, etc. Something fun and crazy. I have the feeling that I'm never getting married, lol.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Those Elvis/Alien/Etc. theme weddings are expensive (although still cheaper than a "traditional" wedding), and your "Elvis" will always insist on singing to you. Blech, unless you're a really big Elvis fan I guess. However, Vegas is THE WAY to go for weddings. People tend to get so stressed about the preparations, the plans, the cake, the nvitations, etc... they forget to actually enjoy the day. My wife and I eloped to Vegas- got married in a chapel that was literally in the lobby of a HoJo- and we wouldn't have done it any other way!! And while you're there, catch a Cirque show or four.
  18. Some of my favorite Bios, in no particular order:

    Oswaldo, fire/rad controller
    [ QUOTE ]
Oswaldo's powers appeared at puberty. He was always a tall gangly kid, but devilishly handsome. In his thirteenth year hormonal changes triggered spontaneous flames to erupt in his vicinity. It was one of these uncontrolable outbusts of flame that burned down his childhood home, killing his parents and little dog Scruffy. Oswaldo lost most of the skin off his face and body, but managed to flee the burning wreckage of the house before it collapsed. Fearing the authorities, and the prospect of being "disappeared" into the depths of a Crey laboratory, Oswaldo escaped the city and lived for ten years in the Badlands of North Dakota. The rocky terrain, with scattered flammable bushes proved the perfect place to hone his skills. He lived off shrubbery and rabbits, cooked on the fly. What he didn't know that the radioactive waste buried beneath his campsite was mutating him further....

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Entropy Kid, rad/rad defender:
    [ QUOTE ]
There was a huge public outcry when it was discovered that Crey Industries was manufacturing toy animals stuffed with spent plutonium. Countess Crey denied all knowledge of the "mistake" and issued an immediate recall of the GlowPals line of toys. Unfortunately, the recall came too late for some children, and The Entropy Kid was created.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Benny the Nose, grav/kin controller
    [ QUOTE ]
Benny was a made man with The Family, and in training to become one of the most powerful bosses Paragon had every seen. His overdeveloped pineal gland, so large it deformed his nose, is the source of his powers. However, one day while shaking down some helpless citizens he developed a conscience. He left the Family, but nobody quits The Family with impunity. He now uses his training for the forces of good, but he will spend the rest of his life on the run from his former masters- at least until he gains enough strength to take the fight back to them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Stark Fist, kat/sr Scrap:

A former short-order cook, Stark Fist accidentally attained enlightenment whilst scrambling eggs for the world's largest western omlette. Ever since then he's been using his new powers and Magic Ginsu knife to slice up villians and serve up justice.

Im a straight girl and have gone to gay bars.. gay people at clubs are a lot of fun.. no pressure just a good time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So now girls go to gay bars to get away from straight guys do straight guys go to lesbian bars then? Oh well have fun at gay bars.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No. Straight guys follow the girls to gay bars to play the 'sensitive friend' angle and maybe get some 'I'm not a threat' grinding in on the dance floor... then let alcohol do the work and slip out the door the next morning claiming it was a one time deal and you're really still gay as a method of commitment avoidance.

No pressure, just a good time.

    [ QUOTE ]
Prof. David Myers has been presenting this paper at conferences for the last two years:

    http://www.digra.org/dl/db/07312.58121.pdf

He may have copied chatlogs with your unchanged user name on it. You might want to check. I think this might be a EULA violation, since the names might be those of minors and there was no way for him to know.

(As for "15 minutes of fame for reporting an ethics violation"....uh, check your local Barnes and Noble, m'kay? Or Amazon. "Mercedes Lackey" This isn't even a blip on my radar.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

A quick once over allowed me to find Silent Spy and Wildstar's names in the paper. Silent Spy's quote is from the forums, Wildstar's is in-game.

I also noticed an amazingly obvious typo in the heading of a section. That's kind of sad.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I know ReDororthy is quoted in his paper too, although not saying anything terribly unkind, of course.

Bachelors smachelors. Just grief a MMO for a while and write up a quickie PhD thesis about how it made you feel. From what I understand, they're handing those things out like candy these days.
