  1. I think this prospect should be put back on the radar, with the changes announced:

    • In an effort to ensure that Lambda Sector's merits are more widely available regardless of whether the league is attempting badges or not, the following changes have been made to merit distribution:
      • 1 Merit will be awarded when acquiring 10 Grenades.
      • 1 Merit will be awarded when defeating 30 of Marauder's reinforcements (the enemies from the doors) in the final stage.
      • 1 Merit will be awarded when defeating Marauder.
      • 2 Merits will be awarded if the league completes Antacid. This is to compensate for the 10 Grenades merit this badge precludes.
      • 2 Merits will be awarded if the league completes Well-Stocked. This is to compensate for the 10 Acids merit this badge precludes.
      • 1 Merit will be awarded if the league completes Lambda Looter. This is because the league would also have acquired the 10 Acid and 10 Grenade merits.
      • Merits will no longer be awarded for gathering all 20 powers.
        • This merit is moved to the kills in the final stage to have fewer merits dependent on power gathering.
    • The overall results are:
      • A standard run which gets all 10 of both powers and ignores badges will receive at least 4 Merits.
      • Any power-related badge run (Antacid, Well-Stocked or Lambda Looter) run has the potential to acquire at least 5 Merits.
      • In order to make sure that all raid sizes can achieve the new bonus merit in a reasonable amount of time, we have activated one of the two permanent doors which was previously not active for smaller leagues. This will increase the rate at which reinforcements spawn by 1 every minute for league sizes less than 10.
      • Please note that ONLY the reinforcements which follow Marauder will give credit for the counter. The pets of those reinforcements, the turrets, IDF remaining from a previous stage and the IDF guarding the containers during the final stage will not count for the merit.
    • Removed Marauder's base 30% S/L resistance and reduced the duration of his Unstoppable power.
    • A door blocking access to one of the lab interiors in Lambda Sector has been replaced with an openable door.

    ...

No date yet, just drumming up interest.
  2. I've already received some names interested in getting involved.

We're still accepting entries until further notice.

I'd also like to point you to the official thread now, since we're putting it up today:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=261129

Applicants for hosting events should still contact me in person, or use this current thread.
  3. Petra Daemon?

    Calx / Silicis Everto?

    Something else latin?
  4. Perhaps you should start charging him for your time lost waiting on him, or expenses for travelling pointlessly.
  5. This is one of those "why didn't I think of this before?" ideas.
  6. Confirmed: This is indeed Saturday, July 9.

    ...sorry Toxic.

But it *is* all day long, and might extend into the evening, so whatever you can do is fine.

As for the people who have expressed an interest in volunteering or running your on events, I will definitely get in touch with you (probably not before tomorrow). If you can shoot me some idea of your activity, that would be even better. Thanks.

More news and stuff to come.
  7. Good job guys!

Now, to add a motor and some wings on that chair...

    Wait... wut?

All I can say is: there's more information coming.

But if anyone is interested in running an event on that day, you have to reserve a spot quickly before things start getting locked into place.

I didn't even know this title had been used for an album.

I was using the title of the Ray Bradbury novel as most usually do: to announce something dire inevitably slated to occur at some point in the future.

It's been said that most of the modern "dark carnival" themed stories (one could even add the COH Carnival of Shadows in that group) are inspired by this book.

That said... I just liked the mysteriously ominous feel it gives, and does not necessarily imply anything about the upcoming event.
  10. I was actually wrong about last night being my first Very Rare. I'd had another before at some point and had not realized (speeded thru and picked something without looking).

My 3rd Very Rare happened with the last BAF I ran just now: 2 Very Rare tables in 2 consecutive days.

    ...

    Sorry Pax.

    Keep at it.
  11. As you probably saw when I announced it in the League channel last night, I got my first Very Rare table last night. So at least we know it's being awarded. I've also received the rare table twice now.

I don't know the rate at which this one is awarded, or if there's any trick to bettering chances (doubtful), but I can say I'm a very casual Incarnate Trial runner, 1 to 5 times a week, and playing my inv/em/em tanker.

    Good luck.
  12. This is intentionally vague because it is still under planning.

I tried to present things in light RP style, while still giving little explanations OOC, but I apparently that didn't work out anywhere close to what I wanted.

    Recap then:

Large scale, day-long series of events, to be officially announced at a later date.

A chance for others to use this structure to promote their own activities in their own way.

A cooperation between multiple event organizers and promoters, with possibly even more joining in later, on a scale rarely seen before on Protector and with a current prize package of 10 billion inf., so far.

    Hope this helps.
  13. Some of you have heard rumours.

    Others already know.

There is something massive looming over Protector's horizon, and your presence will be required when it finally comes into place. (ie: on July 9)

    For now, we plan.

But even if P.E.R.C., the Mentor Project, the Protector Players' Event Team, KJSR.net radio, and the PVP enthusiasts who brought you the Thursday Night Fights are already hard at work, it will not be enough.

This is where you come in, if you're interested in ensuring Protector's best foot is put forward.

We are looking for groups and players who would wish to conduct their own operations (ie: host activities such as competitions, contests, etc.) within the framework we are currently working on, or do so from your own angle, as you see fit.

Financing of your operations is left entirely up to you, as is all administration and management. We simply ask that you let us know the details. (ie: do what you want, offer prizes as you wish - just let us know the who, what, when, where to coordinate it all).

All types of operations are authorized, and if you prefer to volunteer your services or your financial resources instead, that is also acceptable. (ie: if you want to help out in an existing event, or by donating inf., that's great!)

If all you can do is join in when that fateful day arrives, that is already appreciated. It will definitely be worth your while. (ie: about 10 billion inf. in prizes is already set aside for some of the events we've planned)

Please leave your coordinates here, or contact me in private, and we will ensure that whatever SG, VG, group you wish to sign up gets the opportunity to shine when the time comes. (ie: feel free to use this to promote your own SG/VG, group, whatever)

    Get ready Protector.

    Stock up.

It's going to be a long day. (ie: no, really. it's all day long)

  16. Changing the the time or day are not viable alternatives?

Giving you *exactly* the same reply as I gave Globetrotter, Talb.
  18. Mon expérience sur Protector démontre une bonne quantité de francos ici, mais je crois que Freedom, simplement à cause de sa population plus dense, l'emporterait.

    Thanks much, Globetrotter.

I'll contact you ingame, and we can talk some more about those Master runs we need redside. ;-)
  20. I have an idea for an event and need some volunteers.

If you're a registered mentor, or would be interested in volunteering to promote the integration of new players on Protector, please reply here and I'll contact you.

    Thanks.
