I'm thinking the Skills will be grouped like this:

Detective: Deals with criminal investigation. Useful for finding forensic clues and bypassing security.

Science: Deals with Science and Technology. Useful for determining what a substance is made out of and how to shutdown high-tech equipment.

Communication: Deals with Interrogation and Information Gathering. Useful for finding secret bases or picking up leads.

Scholar: Deals with knowledge of obscure facts. Useful for reading ancient languages and determining the properties of a magical artifact.

Of course, this is all wild speculation, but you see how the Scholar would be very useful when dealing with magical enemies.

If that's the case, I wonder if there are going to be certain missions or tasks where, for example, a hero with Detective skills might find some sort of special clue, but needs further examination from another hero with Science skills to determine what it is? I'm not sure how this will affect people that would rather solo and stay pretty secluded, but I think this might be a great way to promote more teamwork between heroes.

Would I have an advantage in advancing through the detective skills by having my own personal detective experience? I've almost got my Criminal Justice major, would that help me in game somehow?

LOL, if that helps, then I sure hope my Chemistry degree will help a bit in the science branch.

I'm still kinda curious about what the Science skills help out with. I hope it's not something where I have to build a flux capacitor and find the 1.21 gigawatts to power the damn thing. Then again, making gizmos would be pretty nifty.

What if the 5th is preparing for the Rularuu invasion by amassing more troops?

Read the article... it's something happening from inside their organization.
Also do not forget. It's almost All Hallows Eve. Werewolves and Vampires abound!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Halloween is just the red herring.

Right after that is the real target: election day.

The 5th Column successfully stole the last US Presidential election
through high level corruption and low level bullying in the streets of
    Florida.

Even as you read this, several states have discovered that firms paid
by the RNC (the 5th's official political wing) have engaged in
enormous voter fraud (thousands of Democrat voter registrations
shredded rather than turned in in Nevada for instance) aimed at making
sure their fascistic aims remain on target.

Their candidate showed himself to be a fool and a puppet in recent
debates and is falling in the polls. It's time to divert the public's
    attention...

Raise the threat level to: Purple.

Leak ominous threats containing little information to the newspapers...

Then take to the streets and suppress as many intelligent voters as they can...

I play this game as an escape. Please don't inject real-wrold happenings into it.

    Heartily seconded.

You at least have to admit that it was pretty damn funny, even though it's not a far stretch from relating RL events to in-game content.
  4. I wouldn't go so far as calling PLing cheating, but in all seriousness, if someone wants to get power leveled, let them do it...they are only cheating themselves out of some decent game content from story arcs or low level TF missions. Some people like the earn things on their own, others like to earn things through teamwork, while others just want things given to them on a silver platter. It really doesn't directly affect my enjoyment, except when you group with someone that has no idea how to play their power leveled character due to the lack of learning technique, strategy and other things from doing the xp grind themselves. If someone chooses to be power leveled and is ignorant of techniques or group strategy, all I ask of them is to accept any suggestion from group members or the group leader...that's it. Go ahead and get power leveled if you want. I just choose to do the xp grind myself, and either way, both of us will have fun.
