Alty: we can honor that.
Keep in mind, however, that private or not, "Deacon Black" did post his queue for those services on his site, however out of date it might be. So *cough* the blame for your name showing up would be, ah, his.
We're just trying to clean up the mess.
And Juggertha: THANK YOU!!! 'Tis teh awesome!
Although... yeah.. she looks a little underfed. And you got her in shorts instead of a skirt. Minor detail there. Other than that, you got the touch!! *squee!!* -
And speaking of Buck:
From his DA Journal:

I just wanted to take this opportunity to applaud certain members of this community. Over 2 years ago, I first contracted an artist who was well known to the City of Heroes community to do some work for me. I knew his queue was long, but his work was simply stunning so I ponied up for his depsosit. I suppose I should have been more wary of having to pay a deposit on work that would take a couple of months to even begin. I bit the bullet and I wound up paying for 2 full pieces in advance and in full. That was March 2006. The queue just got longer. The artist while promising to clear it, continued to take new customers. I grew weary of waiting and made many changes to the composition due to such long periods of no contact and no results. In January of 2008, he offered to refund anyone who no longer wanted to wait. I took him up on this offer since my enthusiasm had died over such a long wait. By late April, I STILL had not received a refund. I contacted him again and offered to give him a second chance to make good. Over a 2 week period, he whipped out the stunning Black Siren piece that now resides in my gallery. But I was still owed another. My enthusiasm was rekindled with viewing this first piece, but it ended there. Now, all emails sent to him are getting returned or ignored and his home phone (according to people who have the number) has been disconnected. All appearances seem to point to him bailing on dozens of people after taking a minimum 50% deposit just to get on the queue. I know of one person who lost over $1K in paid in full artwork that he never received.
Things were looking pretty gloomy and nerves were quite frayed over on the CoH boards. Then certain artists began to step up. Many of them have accounts here as well, and one by one they began to offer to pick up the slack and finish one of those pieces of art that were lingering in queue limbo. It began with one, then another. Then several more stepped forward. I was touched at the tremendous groundswell of generosity that came forth from what was becoming an ugly situation. I want to publicly applaud these individuals, most of whom are Deviants here. I cannot post on the CoH forums currently, but I know there's a chance they might see this. To all of those generous souls . . . you are true heart and soul of the art community. My hat is off to you all. I would join in if I had a shred of artistic talent (hell, if I could draw then I wouldn't have commissioned work in the first place ;p ). I am so happy that some folks will get some relief from and hopefully will not feel that there good faith money was squandered. Bravo to you all.

Buck's right. You all rock. -
Synchrotron was the last one from MMOArt, yes.
Buckeyestar put one up for Invinvibelle from Redlightstudios. One of two that I've seen from that venue (the other was Nadya.) -
That works too.
And yeah... a lot of those folks are probably WoW or GW or even AoC players.
....which means THEIR artist communities have to pick up the ball. -
The trick is to just have fun with them.
Since you're doing them gratis, people aren't going to expect timelines or polish. They know you're practicing.
If you want to do any of my characters... stroll on thru my DA gallery and pick someone. But you seem to have plenty of candidates.

While I lost a hefty deposit my name is not on a queue (MMOStudio) nor am I throwing my name in the hat. There are so many people who lost out and have been waiting longer than my year long wait.
I think we can assume people won't take advantage of the volunteering artists. That would be darn ballsy of them considering we'd all know soon enough what they tried to pull. If it becomes a real issue, I know I saved my paypal receipt. Maybe others did as well. I still don't think it will be an issue.
Oh, and DarkJedi? I hope you're taking commissions!
[/ QUOTE ]
I think paypal receipts copied to the appropriate artists via PM or email would be sufficient.
Question - for those NOT on the 'posted' lists, but who put down deposits? Cos I had one in the exotic list as well... I can copy the email with the paypal receipt to whoever.
I do think that we need to clear the posted lists first if at all possible. Those folks have been waiting a LONG time. -
OK.
Gotta set this out for folks to know.
It's one thing to put an in-character comment on your page about an adversary. But there comes a time when it turns into OOC sniping.
If you wish to engage in that kind of behavior, please, go start a blog someplace. VirtueVerse is not for that kind of OOC player versus player nonsense.
If you can't settle such things amongst yourselves, then the sysops will step in... and we won't be kind, we'll just remove references wholesale. And, if our edits are reverted... we'll simply lock the page once we 'fix' it again. -

Give me a character screenie - I'd love to 'do' ya.

Ultracool. Thank you very much, Juggertha.
ST Character Reference -
Blod-Wolffe: Bwahaha.
*raises hand* I'm on, well, one list. the "almost completed" list.
And the *cough* other domain name list. The one that was established to keep the adult and the pg-13 portfolios separate.
Yeah. the one that did the Invincibelle and Naughty Nadya pieces.
THAT list. Which I think there were... 5 others on it ahead of me, too. Maybe more. That site didn't get updated, much. -
no shame, just figured you'd want to know, right?
And ... linked a screenshot so you can see what I'm talking about. -
Only quibble I have is, at the bottom of your page, your Equipment section's table layout has things overlapping on the right side, and you've also got some minor clipping/overlay problems with some image thumbnails.
That of course could be due to browser dimensions (I'm running at 1600x1200 though, so any narrower and it'd be much worse).
A+ for concept, minus, oh, ten points for details. But nothing a little cleanup couldn't fix. I'd recommend going with relative rather than absolute positioning in your CSS, that way people's browsers can adapt and rearrange as needed.

Hey, occasionally you roll snake eyes!!! It happens!
-
Wait... DJ... picking up an outstanding MMO commission...?
Oh.
My.
God.
I don't even care whose it is. That's just.... AWESOME.
Look what you started, Juggy!! -
not like you can't find it by looking... :P
-
Torch, you say? Funny you should mention Torch.
No, wait, I can't post that one here. It's a rulebreaker. -
*decides not to tell TA about the OTHER COMMISSIONS still in pencils/inks/color stages...*
-
Very cool.
And yes... If Nadya's that sliced up... someone's about to get a visit from the Agony Fairy... -
Uh huh.
And I see you've the custom title. A CuppaJo original if I'm not mistaken.
My point stands!!! -
Hey it's a bloody accomplishment. It's like level 50 for forum posts.
After this, you have to [strike]suck up to[/strike] befriend a Dev to get your title to change.
