If not a new mac installer, maybe an update to the .zip file to include the new issue 17 maps? I'd be perfectly happy to have the data to add to my mac without requiring the full-meal-deal installer.
Thanks, by the way, for making that last one available. That was a lifesaver for me, as my computer died and got replaced only after the mac installer was removed from the site.... -
Hi there. I went to your link for cuppamanga directions on how to do this manually.
I am running OS X 10.6.2. I follow the package contents down to the level you describe as the coh folder, and within that folder I do find the cohupdater.exe but not a "city of heroes" folder. Your instructions state to run the coh updater once to create the folder within that directory, however I am unable to successfully run the updater.
I have Crossover installed on my computer, but running cohupdater.exe in crossover does not appear to do anything. Launching the City of Heroes program does the normal update check prior to giving you the "next" button to continue into the city, however that also does not create a "city of heroes" folder in the "coh" folder within the package contents directory.
What else can I try? -
I have a one year old Mac Book Pro laptop running OS X 10.5.7. I have been playing CoH for about a month now, and i get about 4-5 CoH crashes or freezes per hour, with the majority being software crashes, maybe 1 freeze per hour, and then maybe every other hour i need to completely reboot the computer in order to be able to reload CoH once it has crashed.
Most of the time, crash or freeze, i need to perform a Force Quit in order to get out of the program to reload it. I have not noticed that there is any specific action i take in-game to prompt a failure. Zoning has been suggested as a suspect, but but I crash in teams while waiting for someone to travel to our zone, and all i was doing was sitting pretty in a group doing nothing. I have played with the advanced graphics options, but other than dramatically reducing visual quality, these changes appear to have no effect.
Any suggestions would be most heartily appreciated.
