By the way, not to be intrusive, but have you considered the Lighthouse in Siren's Call as the basis of the Tower Card? That was my first impulse when this discussion started...

I was going to also suggest the Mystic Eye, they also have a great display of numerous deck, if you are looking for inspiration or ideas. Certainly gave me some perspectives.

    Pencils! Pencils! Pen....*ahem*...whatever works best.

Seriously, your GIMP stuff has been good too, so no compliants either way.

On a random note, compared to what I have seen so far...I am sucking wind right now. Does Crayon count as a viable drawing tool?
  5. I don't know if that is the intent, but I like the way he did Lady Comet's skin with that polished effect - like obisdian or hematite stone.

Very cool! I've seen several of his pieces, and that are pretty nice.
  6. Overall, a great work!

I can see the Warbird influence, although her "details" harken more towards Power Girl (complete with conveniently placed tear/hole).

The colors and details are amazing - I especially liked the impact crater effect.

REIQ's note seem to imply he was trying to be more comic-booky, but there's more of an anime' quality in Belle's features. Has made for an interesting hybrid of style.

I am not particular, so feel free to PM one that nobody wants or has done...probably I'll the get Joker...just kidding on that last part.

    Help with GIMP?

Ahh well. I was hoping one of them might be helpful. Your first attempt looks good, especially the reflective effect on black leather (I assume).

Anyhow, if you haven't already done so...you could also just go to: http://www.gimptalk.com/forum/ and ask questions. Or maybe read the materials at http://www.gimptalk.com

Maybe something more insightful will rear its head in another thread...most of the folks who's post I read seem friendly types.

    Good luck!

    Help with GIMP?

You could try the following, most come from GIMP community forums.

    http://www.gimptalk.com/forum/topic/...Hour-20-1.html

    http://docs.gimp.org/en/index.html

    http://gimp-savvy.com/BOOK/index.html?node49.html

    http://library.n0i.net/linux-unix/applic...ours/ewtoc.html

I won't claim to say one is better than the others - maybe one of them will be insightful though. I will say good luck with the digital coloring - the pencils have been great to see by the way!
  10. Great Job! I can't believe I hadn't seen this before.

"It is my duty as a hero to save you..."

    "Villains, Sparky! Villains!"

    "...ummm...sorry" *Drop*

Why I find that so funny is beyond me...I think it reminds me of the old Warner Bros. cartoons.

Certainly would be curious to give it a go ~ but I"m not greatly talented.
  12. I agree with the above...it may be hasty, but that is pretty nice!
  13. Very nice! I think I have to agree that its comic book style, but amazingly detailed - reminds me of Ed Benes' style.

I've always pictured Britannia as kind of a British Power Girl type, whereas Warfox has got the Hellcat vibe down. Power vs. Speed as it were. At least just from what I've seen and read.

May have to consider looking him up for a comission.

    Hems gets art!

    Both very nice works, Hems!

The first definetly has a very anime epic quality - the second one gives me a vague "Bewitched" vibe...and I mean that in good way.
  15. Unless I am mistaken, that's Iron Golem in the top right corner next to Atomic Knight.

    FYI for the key.

    Nice tracking, BAS!

And of course nice work, Alex!
  16. Some very nice pieces here. Clearly, Shia has a talent for drawing his girls very adorably sexy...of course being starkers ( or nearly so) helps...

Seriously, I like the combination of clean lines with watercolors. Thumbs up!

On the one hand...nice reply...certainly would never have occurred to me...lol!

On the other hand...ugh...so wrong to do that...too cheesy!!

heh...it's all good...unless your that guy in the video...

Plus a little idea that was suggested...

    Donated!

I am excited to see how the whole dang things turns out.

This is starting to remind me of all those George Perez "mega" covers he used to do for series like the Avengers or Justice League.

    Sniper Panda

Reminds me of the PVP comic strip, with their "panda attack" jokes. I also found the whole thing amusing...you knew he was gonna get it! Very cool in any case.
  20. Very nice...and *ahem* alluring.

Seriously, I think it's the eyes.

On totally different track...why does she have bandages? Or is that supposed to be clothing? Am I missing something?

Sorry if that sounds critcial....it's a great piece of work. Kudos to the artist!
  21. Looking very cool and funny at the same time, Alex! I am very curious to see what you do next.
