You chaps decided if the Domination Matche kills count towards it? I sure hope so!

    [/ QUOTE ]

imo any1 who didnt make it to a domination match shudnt be allowed to be a best loser

    [/ QUOTE ]
Indeed that is one of the deciding factors
  6. OK, Chez also informed me that Pys' match will be fought tonight, and that Spag turned up for his fight with no sign of Chilli ( who didn't turn up to the base raid either ).

We need to get this show on the road folks, so if I do not hear from Chilli by midnight tonight, Spag will go through to the next round.

I will also post the best loser spot by tomorrow along with the next round of matches.
  7. [ed. continued..]

Next up was Far-Seer Vs Gatling, with both players fielding what could be argued to be 2 stalling toons and one powerhouse in Chill and Gatling respectively this was always going to come down to a battle of the blappers.
    First up was
    Vosco (ice/stone) Vs Casuistry (ill/emp)
An interesting match up with neither player really seeming to gain a real upper hand, Casuistry seemed to burn his red insps early on leaving him slightly short on damage towards the end where his persistence began to pay off and he held Vosco but before the killing blow could be struck Vosco was able to activate hibernate. Vosco kept Casuistry from become overly confident with his own holds in seismic smash and block of ice and the stun of fault but couldnt seem to overcome the empaths healing and self buffs. It finished
    Vosco 0- Casuistry 0

Next up was the match we were waiting for
    Gatling (elec/em) Vs Chill (ice/em)
Even before this began there was a sense of expectation in the air and the match didn't disappoint.
Both players showed why they are considered among the best of their archtype by many with each player blasting, hibernating and healing there way through till with a few minutes left on the clock in the office map and Gatling holding a slight 2-1 lead a split second between Gatlings just activating nova and Chill's attack went in Chills favour with his damage landing before Gats defeating him and negating the nova's damage and levelling it at 2-2 where it remained until the end.

This levelled it up and 2-2 once more resetting the available fighter count and enacting the 10 kill domination with the 20/30 rule.
Both players were asked to select their fighters for this match and coming as no surprise to anyone they kept faith in their blasters
    Gatling (elec/em) Vs Chill (ice/em).
What followed was quite possibly one of the most intense matchs I've witnessed. On the lab map both players made full use of all powers available in their carefully planned builds. For the first 10 minutes it was fairly neck and neck with each player showing no real sign of giving up after that gatling began to pull out slightly into the lead 7-4 when in around the 15th minute both players appeared to run out of break-free's and as they each used total focus on each other they appeared to waltz around each other stunned when they both snapped out of it at the same time, both attacking the other simultaneously they both fell defeated, with hilarious consequences. At one point after Chill had defeated Gatling he re spawned quite close by and before he had even become upright again he shot and defeated Chill who was on low health following their sparring. It continued on like this fairly evenly with the player who got the first stun, or at least snapped out of its effect first ( as they each chose to open with Total Focus) getting the kill but Gatlings lead from early in the match in the end became the deciding factor it ended
    Gatling 10 – Chill 6.
A great match and the description does little to highlight just how enjoyable it was to watch.

In the end Gatling goes through 3-2 but all credit to Far-Seer he was more then a match for Gatling for the majority of the matches.

[ed. Again sounded like the 'thriller from Manilla! Great fight guys!]
  8. well i had turned up early for this only for my missus to invite a load of people around for 7.30pm for a suprise birthday party (woppee!). Luckily Chez wrote it as it was seen:

    2 matches today for ya.

First up was Devilshot vs Gen 2
    First match was
Julie the Schoogirl (ma/sr) vs Righteous Bob (ill/kin)
In the end Julies defence was to much for the kin, it took a while but first kill went to Julie after Bob ran out of green insps. It finished
    Julie 2 – Bob 0
    Second match was

Anica (kin/elec) Vs Brutus Cayuga (ma/regen)
Anica kept sapping brutus's end, but only really threatened to kill him once even when he had him held Anica lacked the damage to push his advantage and it finished
    Anice 0 – Brutus 2
    Third match was

    Coldfront (ice/storm) Vs Splortch (spines/inv)
With the match taking place in the pocket D cage map Splortch couldnt really do a lot to combat colds slows and was kept at the low cap for the majority of the match while Cold chipped away at his health, his first killing coming as Unstoppable dropped, Splortch never really recovered and Cold stayed in control ( no pun intended) throughout. It finished
    Cold 5 – Splortch 0

At this point it was 2-1 to DS with 3 fights gone the available toons were reset and the next fight featured DS sticking with Cold and Gen switching to Bob for a hold-a-thon.
Coldfront (ice/storm) Vs Righteous Bob (ill/kin)
This match quickly turned into a petfest as a controller vs controller dual normally does but with the ranged debuffs and end drain combined with the decoys intagible nature Coldfront found himself on the backfoot for the majority of the match, making a brave stand in the corner of the perez park map it almost paid off but the decoys in the end proved to much for him. It ended
    Cold 0 – Bob 2

With the score now at 2-2 the domination match with the 20/30 twist came into play. Both players were briefed on the rules and fighter selection process, with DS Choosing Anica and Gen going for Righteous Bob
Anica (kin/elec) Vs Righteous Bob (ill/kin)
A veritable smorgasbord of transference and transfusion ensued but again Anica found it hard to press his advantage and the decoys damage once more took its hold, with bob using his invisibility to get a first attack in on most runs by the time it got to 4-1 to him Anica revealed he was out of break frees and conceded the match. It ended
    Anica 1 – Bob 4

Giving Bob a 3-2 victory and a place in round 2. Interestingly both fighters managed to score 8 kills across the matches but Gen's were all in the right places to ensure victory.

[Ed. By the sounds of it a great match, with a couple of surprising results! Gutted I missed this for a [censored] party!)
  9. P.S. : If here are any extenuating circumstances that dont allow for you to play tonight, PM me with the details and ill try and sort something out.

I noticed everyone is on about SI ( Superior Invisibility ). Why would you have this on in combat? Surely it's suppressed as soon as you attack or use a debuff.

your target may see you when you attack, but his teammates wont, unless they are using +per.
  22. And another match fought tonight, good fun all round

First round: Panthera Hybrid vs Dark&Mean 0-0 (didn't see this one)
Second Round: X3 vs Doktor Vax 9-0
Third round saw the two remaining defenders up against each other which finished ShamanX 1-Vosco 0 ; a very close match indeed, the TK just giving X the edge in the end.

    Nimmer X goes through 3-1

    Well played both players
[ CHERRY: After his emphatic 1-0 defender win, Shaman felt a surge of blood to his head and after the match blurted,"Bring on teh fusion!.". This, im sure you would all agree, we'd love to see! Would be like Half-time entertainment ]
  23. Righto, we need to get things moving:
So far results for those definately through are:

    Empath (4-3)
    Phil (3-0)
    KS (4-3)
    Neo (3-0)

At the moment imag and FF are up for a best loser spot ( neither are definate! )

    this leaves:
far seer and gat ( date and time please )
psy and satanic flash ( ditto )
Spag and chilli ( the only difference between these two is a scwhartz con carne mix )
    Vosco and x ( fighting tonight i believe? )
Gen2 vs ??(MAX?? or Globey stopped being a nimmer and fighting)

Right I'd like all those matches finished by THIS SUNDAY evening latest. Any probs contact me. If you cant get hold of the person you wish to fight, make a post in this thread and then contact me.

Also, when you arrange a fight, PLEASE CAN YOU POST DATE AND TIME IN HERE! thankyou.

  24. RESULT: Match commentry from Cherry: ( edited for literacy ):
I present to you an epic tale of illusion, regeneration, death, rebirth, draws, stalemates, ice, radiation, and of course, the undead. I give you
    Imaginary Vs Knight Stalker

    First match was
Imaginary (ill/rad) Vs Knight Stalker (spines/regen)
Ended a 0-0 draw, was pretty much even throughout, although imaginary offered to end it as a draw about halfway through KS declined.
    Second up was
    slapUsilly(em/sr) Vs Unforgotten (nimmer/nimmer)[ed.]
Before the match began slapUsilly stated he was at the stealth cap an intended to run the match down for a draw and once more offered KS the chance to call it 0-0, KS once more declined, the match went ahead with imaginary only breaking stealth and attacking 4 or 5 times.
    Ended [ed.] 0-0
    Third match was
    Captain freon(ice/em) Vs Forbearance (ice/ice)
A good match, a lot of hibernate, but both players gave it their all but once more it ended
    0-0

At this point I once more informed both players of the 10 kill domination with the 20/30 min rule, both understood. Imaginary selected his ill/rad, ks much to most peoples surprise selected his mastermind. The fight began with with imaginary taking an early 1-0 lead, after a further 10 minutes of sparing KS managed to pull it back to 1-1, as the match approached its 20th minute KS snagged a further kill making it 2-1 to him, at this point imaginary, having ran out of BF's congratulated KS on his victory and the fighting continued until about the 25th minutes where imaginary resigned leaving the score at 4-1 to KS, meaning KS is through to the next round.

SO just to recap those scores are
    imaginary vs knight stalker 0-0
    slapUsilly vs unforgotten 0-0
    captain freon vs forbearance 0-0
    imaginary vs unforgotten 1-4
    Ks wins 4-3
  25. Righto, apologies, RL has been nothing short of chaos of late, so ive had no time to enjoy any coh at ALL!

    so here goes:
    First of all:
    KS wrote:

"Since i haven't had my first fight yet i would just like to make 1 last change to my toons. I would like to sub one. Im going to change Subco for Forbearance.

Sorry the late change but i dont feel confident with sub."

OK, at this stage you cannot freely change toons. Many people I don't doubt will have spent a great deal of time optimising their builds to face certain opponents' charachters. If you wish to change your toons at the last minute, you MUST obtain permission from whomever you are fighting. ONCE YOU HAVE FOUGHT YOUR FIRST MATCH WITH THOSE TOONS YOU MUST PLAY WITH THOSE TOONS FOR THE REST OF THE TOURNEY!
