Perhaps if there was an EU server called Aristocracy?

    [/ QUOTE ]

There was. You obviously missed the revolution when the server was deposed, taken outside, shot and buried in an unmarked shallow grave
  2. Sorry to see you're leaving. Good luck and hope you return some time.

also sorry that your leaving thread degenerated into a spat but such is the natire of the interwebs

Sentient fog flowing out of Dark Astoria and slowly covering the city might be fun - maybe with some sort of travel power suppression, and lurking things in the fog.

Depends whether you go for John Carpenter or James Herbert's version "The Fog"
  6. Read this today. I know sonics isn't the most popular AT but this sounds like a lot of fun.

What other modern tech can create CoX ATs?

    GR - W.I.S.D.O.M

IIRC Foreshadow and Mirror Spirit are the Korean contingent and had quite a successful run in the comics (and Foreshadow at least if found on one of the Vet Reward Comicbook Covers) when there were Korean Servers.

Foreshadow is now the Hollows Trainer and Mirror Spirit is in Faultline - both put there by War Witch during revamps.
  8. QR: Haven't read everything but how about:

Rescue the team; remember the missions like Arachnos/CoT where we get imprisoned? Make them MUCH harder to get out of (like give the doors a 20x HP factor and +5 def or something... so that your best attack barely scratches it.

But, we've got communicators... so the call can go out to broadcast/serve/coalition etc... and a new team can form with the specific aim if digging the team out and smashing the prison control console/magic gem

The basic scenario is Avengers rescued by Defenders, Giant Szed X-Men thing etc. Needless to say prison control module is uber defended but not primary goal

    Rikti are back!

I love the raids. I know some might consider it as being a bit hackneyed, but I love the whole atmosphere of them. It's one of the few times when as a player you feel under relentless pressure, and from an RP perspective it works too: We know the Rikti aren't gonna give up so we have to find a way of taking the fight back to them.

The only way they could possibly improve it would be to deliver a load of 5th/Council to our waiting attacks because there's few things more satisfying than kicking the living proverbials out of fascists

One of the two most well-intentioned yet misguided Re-duxs in living memory for Paragon.
First the Hamidon Re-dux then The Hollows re-vamp. Sorry Warwitch, I know you worked hard to balance the zone and thin the mobs out - but the big mobs and frustration of nearly getting there and falling 100 yds from the Mission door was the sadistic appeal.

Keep the Med-camp but re-double the mobs and put the over-sized spawns back where they used to be in my opinion, the thrill was finding a way to the Mission entrance. Besides, Its not exactly that hard with all the flightpacks and temporary travel powers about.

    # Sighs #; I miss the good ole days of being on-duty in The Hollows. I still patrol now and then but I have noticed the numbers have twindled from 20-30 Heroes in the Zone to less than a handful per night on average.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I tend to agree with all of this but I think there's another point you've not covered:

When I started playing, the XP curve was much slower then, partly because I was a noob and also it simply was tougher back then, but there weren't many alternatives. The Hollows was THE PLACE for a budding hero to cut their teeth. It was that or street sweeping in Kings Row ad infinitum.

Now, there's almost too many alternatives and even with the Hollows revamp, many are easier. Farm in MA for 20 levels and you've spent an afternoon in the MA if that, and totally outlevelled the Hollows. Do a few police band missions for a Jet pack and a Jump pack and you're probably on the top edge of the Hollows. It goes so quick now; XP is easier to come by, debt is non-existent and the Hollows is now almost a distant memory to all but the seasoned campaigner.

Many of the new players don't realise there is a game outside of the MA. When I took my hiatus we finished up on Frostfire for a "last hurrah" and had a blast. I mentioned that on twitter and one of my followers then complained a few days later they couldn't find Frostfire in the MA mission lists.

    Nuff said.

I've done the Khan TF a couple of times now, and I've got to say I am suprised it's been so universally slated.
    <snip>
All in all, although I15 is small and as others have mentioned isn't worthy of being called an "Issue" in its own right, it's not bad content for all that. Stupid Paragon Marketing team could've called it I14.5 or simply "Anniversary Celebration" and everyone would've been happy.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Said this a few times - if it had been a birthday extra or a patch then it would have been almost universally lauded.

As it is being called an issue, with the TF and SF being virtually the entire issue and coming after a relative drought of dev-created content, it's been almost universally slated.

It also came with some disappointment for some at the big birthday present was that everyone had a chance to beta test the new patch... errr I mean issue... This, especially with the size of the issue, managed to feel anticlimactic.

The TF itself, IMO, is a very decent TF - quite fun, although annoying if you have trouble with the final AV and it takes over an hour of constant battle... I've not actually done the final version of the SF yet - but an earlier version on test was much more fun than the TF, so hopefully I'll get chance to do that soon (or as soon as it's been tweaked and the MM temp repaired).

If only PS had handled the release/naming better it could have had a much better reception from many.

I thnk the trouble there is that the others would just let him get splattered if that were the case... or all TP in together

    Dr Kahn TF

I've done the Khan TF a couple of times now, and I've got to say I am suprised it's been so universally slated. I must admit I played it initially with a lot of trepidation, because I'd not heard a single positive comment about it. But I have really enjoyed both goes at it. I liked the concept of it, and even tho it's a tad grindy in the end it makes sense to me and is still enjoyable.

I'm the first to call a spade a spade, and if I think something's a dogpile I'll say so, but I think this has the potential to be one of my fave TFs, especially once people get used to it and get a system in place as they have with LGTF and ITF and others. Not too long, not too tricky and fun once you've got the knack of it.

All in all, although I15 is small and as others have mentioned isn't worthy of being called an "Issue" in its own right, it's not bad content for all that. Stupid Paragon Marketing team could've called it I14.5 or simply "Anniversary Celebration" and everyone would've been happy.

Now I wanna go play on my Dom
  15. I think I'll stick with the superpowers I already have thanks
  16. I suspect that we'll see a graphics update for GR or I16.

They have longer to work on GR now, since CO put its launch date back, and I'm thinking that what we might see is a shift from the current bespoke Cryptic Engine to the Crysis engine that runs Aion.

What we do know is that the current engine is way more capable than current use suggests but the Devs (rightly so IMO) tend to keep the game playable on older machines, to maximise their audience. However with CO imminent they may choose to bite a bullet and give the world a coat of paint.

One thing I've noticed in recent interviews, is that Matt Miller has seemingly lost the habit of leaving false paper trails in his clues. Now he just says "I can't talk about that." Also missing from his vocab is "Soon" so I'm guessing the "Marketing" team at PS have smacked his rotund behind and told him not to be so naughty.
  17. We have enough mods now. Time for some rockers methinks! ;-)

Right I'm off on me bonnie to Sarfend!!!
  18. sadly you can only form a pact up to level 5 as things currently stand, so your opportunity to do it with these characters is gone.

levelling pacts divide the XP between those involved. So if you are both on you'll earn XP simultaneously. If one of you isn't playing then the XP the other earns is divided so that the offline member still gets XP

And I shall say this only once: "signed" posts are against forum rules so let's not use them kids! ^_^ (and apparently so is pyramid quoting when it exceeds 4 layers... go figure)

Having said that I also think this suggestion is a good suggestion and should be looked into.

    Technically they are "discouraged" vis:

    [ QUOTE ]
Bumping posts in order to keep them near the top of the list is also prohibited. Likewise, the use of "/signed" posts are discouraged in that it doesn’t engender constructive discussion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

(See Rule 5 on the updated lists.)

I guess that's just to prevent a whole stack of "/signed" comments with no constructive dialogue.

More backpack options would be good but I believe if memory serves there's a technical reason why we can't have many more. I can't remember details sadly, and relvant threads were way before "the great prune" so I'm not even gonna attempt to search.

I think that's one reason why Crab Spiders have costume troubles if they have the crab backpack.
