I don't know of any sites specific to doing post on 3d. But for digital painting in general I would check out conceptart.org. There's a wealth of information there about digital rendering, anatomy, etc.

    I'll check it out.

    Thanks!

I can help ya. I do a lot of postwork on my renders. Got a piece in particular you're looking to touch up?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks. I'll pm a link to you as it's a wip and I'm just about done with it but some what I will call "I scream 3D issues" I'd like to deal with. I'll also post some links here to some previous before and after examples so you can see what I'm talking about.

    Thanks again!
  3. Thanks man! Been a long time. Work's still opening up a can on me but finally getting some time here and there.
  4. My schedule is starting to free up a little bit that I can start doing images again. My weakest point I think is in the area of post work. To be blunt, I suck at it and like anything in life one sucks at, I tend to avoind it. I really need to get better, expecially in the area of shading . I would like to be able to do a better retouching areas of my renders as well as making the expressions more lively. To that end, can anyone reccomend a book or website on the subject that I could use as a resource? I know the ony way to get better is with practice but I've just not been able to find resources to help me move past the hit and miss approach.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

This is a favorite on mine. I really like this guys style. So much I had to commission him!
  6. Excellent stuff. Really llike it.

Heck, you might get eliminated in the first round... so maybe it wouldn't be a problem.

    lmao

No, I'm like a really bad Nascar driver. I'm deluded to the point I always think I have a chance to win....
  8. Awesome stuff. Really like Strawberry Poundcake.

    Very nice!
Particularly like the joke about Serge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks. Serge has to be a busy guy and has to have a way to let go every now and then I'm sure....
  10. Love the colors and the enforcer poices. The go really well together.
  11. Some recent srtwork I've completed and 2 quick commissions I've just recieved.

The first two are Toxic Haven which is Starfire68's boyfriend's toon. She was one of the persons that guessed the correct number a while back.

The first one is of Toxic Haven sitting and while I like the pose, I'm not a 100% happy with the lighting. I tried to keep the lighting simple as I was importing into Carrara but I think in the end I need to work on more dramatic lighting.

The next one may be NSFW. It's Toxic Haven again and she's having a wardrobe malfunction of sorts. I originally had this idea for Green Radiance but she wears so little lately, it wouldn't really have the same effect as it does here.

The next two are quick commissions, I got from Ebony-Chan at DeviantArt.

    Ebony is awesome.
  12. I so want to do it but the first half of the year is so busy for me, I don't know if I could make the commitment. Have to think on it.
  13. That's too bad. Like to give props to the person. Oh well, nice work!
  14. Very nice. Who's the artist?
  15. Sketch? That's freakin awesome!
  16. Epic Hero... Nice work there. Really nice work.

Well, the Carrara update is out! Time for me to get to work!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Cool. I'll have to download that and the Daz patch to see if the import works.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
That's one thing Carrara can offer you... some atmospherics to give images some depth. It'll also be easier to jump in to if you're already familiar with DAZ Studio.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, I'm on the starting to learn the program now and I can already see the potential. Love the improved funtinality of directly importing Daz/Poser figures and props.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Mm, the only thing this thing is lacking is lighting and atmospheric perspective. That's the problem with computers is they want everything to be perfect and clean. Couple layers in photoshop of just adjusting the background would really make this piece pop.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. It's really been my hangup with Daz for a while now and one of the reasons I'm moving on to another program. The lack of atmospheics. You really have to postwork it. I tend to stick to postwork that doesn't look obvious and right now, I'm just not that good at postworking atmospheirics and special effects without it looking, well obvious.

Is it true that Vue Infinite (or even the other versions) will read Poser's MAT files and come up with Vue equivalents?

Are there any drawbacks to using Vue with Poser figures? I used to use Lightwave but I hated redoing all of my textures whenever I'd bring in a Poser figure. I like using Carrara with Poser but I'm always interested in improving my images and workflow. That's why I prefer DAZ Studio to Poser.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Daz to Poser? Why not straight to Poser?
  21. Gift art. The best kind! Very nice too!
  22. [ QUOTE ]
You'll be amazed how cool stuff can look when you get away from the Poser renderer. I'll be looking forward to your next set of creations.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's funny, i'm a little ambivalent about the whole thing. Daz has become something of an "old shoe" but it's really limited on where I want to go. There's so much I want to do that I can't or is very difficult to do in Daz. It's time to move on and I know it. It's just the comfort zone thing....
  23. Yes the studio import does not work at all as far as I'm concerned. A Daz and Carrara patch are supposed to fix that but I just need to jump in and start learning.
  24. hugohugo just gets better and better.
