Yeah, leave it to an old person to take up for the driving habits of old people.

What I don't get it why so many old people drive like 10-15 miles below the speed limit, right in front of me.
You're OLD, you don't have much time LEFT, don't you want to get as much done in the time you have left as possible? Don't you want to get to your destination before you DIE?
When I'm old, I'm gonna be driving like 100 MPH everywhere.

I know it's foolish to try to bring logic & reason into a rant thread, but... whattheheck!
I don't know at what age this starts getting implemented & I don't recall if this was something from the State of California or from AARP, but I learned from my Dad that senior citizens are encouraged to slow down & use wider buffer spacing between vehicles to account for slower reaction times. Of course, they are also advised to stay to the right as slower traffic is encouraged to keep to the right. Some may opt not to be in the far right lane as impatient drivers taking advantage of the extra buffer space make the far right lane one which constantly tests their reactions and frazzles their nerves.
It's thought that getting where they're going intact is preferable to trying to get there fast & getting into an accident which may kill them, injure them, or cause an unwanted expense that they can ill-afford.
Also... WTH!?! Getting stuck behind an old person??? Lrn2drv n00b! -
Happy Birthday!
I hope you have a memorable celebration! -
Heh. Anyone trying to dodge Rikti raids on Justice today should just log out!

'The most trusted man in America' dies at 92
I was surprised and a bit sad no one else has posted on this, but well, I guess that gives me the opportunity to step up.
I'm saddened to hear of his passing, but thankful it's not another story about a life cut short. It's been quite a while since he brought us the news, and televison reporting has changed quite a bit since he stepped away from it, but he was one of the pioneers of television reporting and I feel it would be a shame not to mark his passing.
I've collected a few stories and commentary about the man & his career, both as my poor & inelegant tribute to the man and as a source of information to those not familiar with him.

Meow teams, meow missions...whatever the code word for 'farms' in the MA was.
All I remember as a bunch of people standing around in AE broadcasting "Meow?" "Meow?" "Meow LFM!"

[ QUOTE ]
The devs have a fundamental disconnect when people play the game in ways that they did not intend.
The further away you go from their vision the more you see the devs' faces screw up, until baninations occur. Lately it seems like instead of just fixing things they would prefer to fix the players instead.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm a bit confused by your comment in the last paragraph Pum. Are you objecting to their efforts to implement this?
This appears to me to be recognition of the way some people like to play which some other players have indicated irritates them due to unwanted tells/invites. It also appears to be an accomodation which should please both sides. To me it looks like an attempt to lessen the disconnect.
So a) what should they be fixing instead & b) how is this "fixing the players?"
The other way I can see interpreting the comment is that you figure they're going to goof up the implementation somehow & then players are going to suffer for it as the dev team tries to fix problems that seem, to them, to be adversely affecting a significant portion of their player-base? -

Unfortunately every one of the responses has been to form a team with a goal oriented activity. Not just to team for the sake of teaming or to hang out.
Justice doesn't seem to encourage random aimless head hunting anymore. Soon it will just have signs in Portal Court that say "Get off my lawn."

Fine, fine...
To answer the OP: More or less from 8-11pm Pacific time weekdays. WheneverTheHeck on weekends.
If I'm not already doing something specific, I'm willing to team with just about anyone who asks as long as it doesn't have me just standing around while someone else is "having fun." I'm a member of JFA & Diet JFA, but don't usually monitor those channels as trying to follow the conversations got too distracting for me. However, knowing that, you can tell if I'm on. Just look for @Red Gren -
Happy Birthday!
Does the spate of posting indicate a birthday computer?
Whatever the case, it's good to see you!
Hope you have an nifty celebration today! -

Thanks bunches to TA, Sassy, tremorr, Somber Traveler, Peep, DD (and Chewie too), Kid Kraft and Peep for coming to make the end of Scimi's trip super special! And a special thanks to Mod-08/TheOcho for the unexpected appearance and loot! It was *really* awesome to have you there and get the chance to meet ya and hang out with you a bit.
[/ QUOTE ]
Humph! I see how it is!
Moves to Sassy's side of the server!!!
Seriously though, it was good to see everyone that made it, and to shoot the breeze with ya after the gorging! It was awesome to have Mod 08 come out, and the schwag you brought was a nice bonus too!
I always find these get togethers to be a hoot and look forward to the next one! -
I was running around Steel the other day & saw in broadcast someone commenting on what a quiet game CoH was. Someone else explained that folks will use SG, Team, & global channels for "chatter." I tried pointing them to Diet JFA, but was apparently too slow.
Given this, I'm not surprised that this happens in Atlas. It's nice to know new people are still checking out the game. I guess I should be more hospitable. -

Cops in Michigan protect and serve doughnuts
CLARE, Mich. "Cops & Doughnuts" is more than a punchline. It's now a bakery in Michigan owned by nine full-time employees of the Clare Police Department.
The newly renamed bakery opened Wednesday, offering doughnuts, cookies, muffins, brownies and bread. It also has mugs and T-shirts bearing the "Cops & Doughnuts, 100 Percent Cop-Owned" logo, and phrases including "You Have the Right to Remain Glazed" and "Handcuffs and Cream Puffs."
Officer Al White says the officers were concerned when the Clare City Bakery's owners decided to throw in the towel. The 113-year-old bakery would have become the sixth empty storefront in Clare's three-block downtown.
The officers were on hand for the grand reopening but have hired a manager and will employ local students as staff.

Noted from said site, it's not just 9 members of the local force, it's ALL nine members of the local force. -

From what I remember, I wish I could conjure up more time in the day for you to help you get back up & running. Since I can't, I'll just hope that you get lucky & locate the problem right off the bat. -

Another reason why the devs/CS should pay attention to the people you've described, cho.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh, ok I guess. The thing is, every special interest group says:
[ QUOTE ]
And yet there is an insanely vocal, long term group that get ignored on more than a daily basis.. Even with detailed lists, request, numerous amounts of people who agree, beg and plead, and nothing! Makes you really wonder doesn't it..
[/ QUOTE ]
So I agree. Pay attention to them, monitor them, take note of things that keep reoccuring. And then use your best judgement to decide what to act on with the resources you have available.
No matter what the dev team does, someone somewhere is going to be dissatisfied with or angry about what is done, is going to quit, and is going to bad-mouth them. And this after they bust their tails working to implement things that (other) people have asked for and have been asking for quite some time. Yeah... I do wonder about the dev team... are they crazy or what? -
As a kid, I was fascinated by World War II. I couldn't get enough information or stories about it. And so I used to watch McHale's Navy, Baa Baa Black Sheep/Black Sheep Squadron & Operation Petticoat every chance I got.
Oh... and I'd watch Bonanza too, but I'd have rather been watching Wild Wild West! (Yeah... no accounting for taste is there?:P) -

South Bay BdB locations I know of: Campbell, Palo Alto & San Jose.
Unless HeroCon is held in Mountain View or somewhere up the peninsula, I'd recommend the one in Campbell for relative ease of travel & parking.
