the game hangs even in windowed mode

Bitcomet is only run when I'm fetching large projects from my schools' server

my computer has both Intel Graphics and Nvidia, it uses Nvidia when it launches games and other programs that need a more demanding graphical processing ability

video drivers are up to date, no viruses, computer is 6 months old

Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Hello.
I'm having some problems with City of Heroes.
The game just stops doing anything, just freezes.

Here's what I do to repeat the problem:
I launch the game in Safe Mode to reset the options to the minimum.
Now it does not matter if I'm in Safe Mode or not when I try to fiddle with the settings as it happens in either case.
I can change the resolution, I can change character - and world detail and max particle count.
If I try to change anything else the game hangs and I have to ctr+alt+del to shut it down through the Task Manager.

What follows is the COHhelper readout and the HijackThis log.

I'm having problems connecting to the game... I need to open up the ports to be able to connect to the game BUT the portforward.com webpage doesn't list my router type which is "ZyXel p335u"

when I try with a different router type I get the numbers I'm supposed to enter but the router config says I can't leave the server IP field empty...

what does that mean? do I need the server IP from the game or do I need to enter some other IP???

ok, this thread has WAY to much negativity, it outweighs those of us that try to look on the bright side, I hate to say this but this will be my last post on this thread as people just seem to want to bi**h and moan about how THEY think the dual blades should look, I think the poll about the powersets were about us choosing a power theme and not having any control on the outcome, in my earlier post I threw out some suggestions onto the thread but now after reading this thread more thoroughly I won't be coming back to this place of eternal darkness... so long black pit of despair and hello sunshine...

ok, I just found this while browsing through the wikipedia, the swords in the screenie don't look like a shamshir, the shamshir has a LOT bigger curve to it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shamshir

and in my opinion this looks much more like the one in the screenie and I've wielded a sword like that AND you could if profiecient enough with it fight with one in each hand, they aren't heavy and if made properly then the balance is awesome, a really good blade, if this is what they were aiming for then I'm happy with how the blades look.

When I voted for Dual Blades I didn't have any expectations what so ever of how they would appear, but... seeing them now I think I would have preferred them as the kama or wakisashi, I know having another sword set sucks but even so it will add variety to the game. Kama has the nice ability of being mostly for puncturing and cutting with the little scythe like blade, it's one of my most favorite weapons.

I voted for willpower, not because it was second on some list but because I liked the sound of it, and when I thought about it I visualized a martial artist shrugging the hits off with just his mental control of his body. Regarding the screenies I must say I was not surprised it would be animated like this and kinda fits in with the theme I imagined, if they change it they change it and I will adapt to it.

I see some ppl talking about blasters and stalkers and pvp on this thread and can't help thinking if they're discussing this in the wrong place. Wasn't this thread supposed to be about the new powersets and not the effectiveness of blasters and stalkers in pvp? Just a question, mean no offense.

I agree that the swords are too big, I mean have you aver tried holding two katana sized blades like the toon in the screenshot does? I have and it's extremely hard to maneuver them correctly without serious injury.

Now if they would shorten the blades to a wakisashi type length of sword that would be much more effiecient, even tho lacking the superior cutting length of the larger blades the shorter blades can be used more quickly and to a more deadly effect. You get more control over the weapons, you can fight in a smaller space AND if you're skilled enough you might get in some fancy acrobatic work in there as well. Although now I'm talking from personal experience, I wouldn't advise doing a backflip or any kind of flip with two swords, because if something goes wrong you'll need atleast one hand for support.

Basically what I'm trying to say here is that smaller swords make more sense when fighting in a group and/or tight spaces. More speed, more control, and if you will more fancy moves.

On a more personal note, I could very well see the dual blades (if made smaller) doing minor to moderate damage with one or two going beyond that but with the lower damage attacks having a higher chance of getting a crit. In RL fighting with swords if I wanted to down someone quickly I wouldn't go for the heavy hitting strikes, I would use quick controlled cuts to maximise the overall damage, but hey that's just me.

Jesus people, why can't we just all get along, I mean all these changes have NEVER affected my gaming in any way, I've never had any problems with it and I've been playing since it went live, I own both games and I love them both, why waste all this energy in flaming the devs for the hours of work they put into their work, think about it; if you spent half as much time playing the game as you do flaming the devs you could really improve on your playstyle and perhaps open your minds to other ways of playing the game than to have the BEST toon....
