They like to do that. I had to start 4 different trouble tickets to get a response on my veteran power going *poof* before I got a response. But don't worry Houtex, you didn't miss anything other than a copied and pasted reply that had nothing to do with your issue... trust me.

Something that would probably get a huge amount of Hell Yeah! support from a small but vocal minority would be a config option that simply says:
[ ] Do not render other player's capes, trenchcoats and wings.
The small vocal (alright not so vocal) minority are those like myself that regularly attend hami raids.
The nice thing about this is that would also provide a stopgap fix for the cape crash problem - if I don't render other player's capes, and turn my own off, it seems to me that it'd reduce the likelyhood of a cape crash quite dramatically.
IMHO, of course.

Agreed, and it would improve overall performance for those with lower end machines (not me, but just saying...).
And I might actually be able to play the game then. I literally cannot play right now whatsoever. What use is trying to do a mission when you'll crash before completing it? Considering that I don't want to expose a stranger to my erratic and often habit of crashing I tend to play solo, so no one "holds" the mission while I'm verifying files and re-logging in. I can't last longer than 10-12 mins in game with one specific character.
I'd love to invite a tech to my house to see this problem in action and see if it would help narrow it down on their end.

I had my miniskirt disappear underwater yesterday too. It was the one with the rectangular cutouts on the sides. I was left with a black bikini that was obviously not from costume design, but from wanting to keep a teen rating. =)

And just to be clear, it's not necessarily the instant you see a cape on your screen the crash happens.

That would explain my crash today. I did as much as possible to avoid looking at any capes, but of course in Pocket D you can't avoid it. Took my V-Day mish, got almost all the way through it and boom crash.
The mobs didn't have capes, I didn't have a cape, but for some reason I crashed anyway. -
I suggested that a few pages back but no one paid any attention to it.
Like I said there it's too much to rely on N00bToon5678 to have read the boards and agreed to remove his/her cape for the 5 seconds that they go through your screen. -
I fondly remember a time when no one had capes, and I didn't crash every eight-ten minutes. If we could perhaps, get a control in our options settings to turn off capes that would be a lifesaver for many with the crash issue. I'm still not totally convinced that my issue is a cape crash bug, but something like this place would help with those who don't like them/ are having crash issues/ and yes, even those with lower end computers who just want to improve performance. Fix the issue yes, but give us some kind of workaround without having to rely on N00bHero12345 to have read and agreed to removing his cape while he flies through my screen for 5 seconds.
Then, those of us who have crashing issues can truely narrow down what is indeed causing the problem without X number of people saying "Oh it's the cape bug!" and having their entire thread derailed, or worse ignored until *that* goes away. -
*Cries* I just lost my entire post....
Ok... on my Defender in the SG options. My toga comes up as a pleated skirt and tight tights top. (display issue)
Same defender, I "lost" the shoulder pads clickables in the SG options.... I couldn't change their color. I had to go to the costume store using one of my tokens to change it slightly before SG mode would see them ("Small" shoulder pads)
The same exact thing happened with the Rams Horns, on the same exact character.
The Tattered #4 cape clips about 4 inches up/out when running/jumping. It's just annoying.
Whats up with Chaos Leather..... NM-Figured this out and I feel like a fool.
Jay is Sexay!!
