I feel the same about EA now. We went from "I'm constantly out of end!!!!!" to " I have perma RA". Just keep casting EA with minions around you and you'll never run out. Not to mention the resistance to slow it gives now, beautiful.

EA always gave Slow RES. Permafrost was given new Slow RES.

Combined with WI, we are now impervious to every status effect in the game.

Sadly, Fear still hits us. But gladly, that's not something you really see much.

I believe this to be a very good trade off to whatever else we did loose.

Our DEF? I dunno, it still seems unbalanced. If the Devs wanted to make us more damage based, they would have brought down the I4 Endurance costs to assist in that. It seems like all we have now, with our armors, is an old fashioned Weave. Waiting until 26, before we can start dishing anything out.
It is good to see some Ice Tanks are surviving I5 though. Kinda holding back myself, until they do something to replace it's lost DEF.
Good luck in your tanking. If it ever comes up, I'd like to know how Ice runs with a Sonic Bubbler behind it. -
So, looking at my Primary Powers; I'm pretty much taking 6 powers and only 3 need any slotting (Only would slot EA for End drain, if I wanted to).
So 15 slots to max Frozen Armor, Hoarfrost, and Glacial Armor... this gave me the oddest feeling. "I'm building a Scrapper" :O .
Is this what most people are stuck doing? Slotting attacks because most of the Primary are lost causes? -
Slow RES instead of Toxic? Wow, that's appealing. For a few days, I was actually considering Permafrost. Oh well.
Anybody know if CE's new Damage Debuff stacks with other Ice Tanks'? Tempted to just team up with a bunch of Ice tanks and put slots into attacks. TP into mob and stack CE. Who needs slotted armors, when the return isn't favorable.
....Yarrr -
Not knowing if the last lil' patch on Test has helped much, I've seen how bad it was with I5 hitting Test. I'd have to agree with Circeus on what the numbers should be. 5% DEF more, number wise, than RES (of fire tanks) seems fair.
It's been stated that Fire was meant to give more damage than the other tanks, so I've never been surprised by the difference in Blazing Aura and Icicles.
Stone, although highly susceptible to SLOW is more hindered by it's own abilities than anything. Compared to the other tanks, it seems to be the most balanced.
As for the 9th tier power. I might be pessimistic, but I don't see it changing. Perhaps, in the future (far, far in it), when they bring the cap to 60; they'll give a 50 lvl Epic selection including a RES ability for Ice tanks. Only way I see us getting a power like it.
I'm hoping that the numbers on tanks will get more reasonable once I5 hits Live and the Devs can see how Sonic affects Ice and the other tanks capabilities. They seem to be trying to get some Data on how they can work RES bubbles into the game without overpowering certain builds. And in Dev tradition, overdoing minuses is the first direction they use. -
I've noticed the melee orientation of Blasters these days.
I've seen Blasters designed (probably respec'd just for it) to be a Scrapper with "Force of Nature" (Epic power pool).
Why is it that, the only way Blasters are able to survive, is to force them into the role of a Scrapper?
