Training finished early (yay) so got home at a sensible time. Just need dinner and then should be on for a reasonable time \o/

argh, really isn't going well for me. Going to be late tomorrow I reckon. Got a training session that doesn't finish till late and I doubt I can make it home for 6.30

Will try and be there as soon as possible but start without me and I can hopefully catch up

I can log him in so we can start tho' and thankfully I think he logged in IP so I don't have to try and use his key setup to move him anywhere *phew*

We're going to be very late - Got stuck in a meeting at work, only got home at half 6 and now gonk is cooking my dinner. I can't play without food!!

I never really liked soloing my kinetic defender. I always felt to get the most out of the buffs she needed a full team around her...

Favourite to solo defenders so far are:

Storm/Electric. Wasn't so great early on but once I got past Stamina she was a joy to solo And not everyone likes Storm so I did find myself solo a bit with her... She only actually had 4 attacks from electric as well so was quite surprised that she soloed so well

Rad/Sonic. I only respecced her in the late 20s to a more offensive build but once I did she has been amazing fun teamed and solo. The damage output is great, and I think she can almost out damage my sonic blaster I think sonic is probably one of the more effective blasts for the solo defender tho'

Sorry for bailing last night really wasn't feeling 100%. Thought I'd kicked the flu this morning and dutifully went back to work only to leave again a few hours later!

Although Gonk will be missed it shouldnt be too bad as he was ahead and being exemped down anyway so we should just be able to carry on as normal..

Anyway, with regard to secondary's for defenders it does depend what you want to do. Go back through a few of the threads in the defender section and you will come across debates on empath playstyle. If you want to go for an Empath that concentrates a lot on buffing and looking after the team then to be honest it doesn't matter which secondary you pick as you may find you end up with 1 or maybe 2 powers from your secondary and not much else.

A lot of the secondarys that are available for defenders offer some utility powers that can be used defensivly... disorients, sleeps, holds, debuffs etc Personally I've played an Empath/Dark, which I liked a lot. It has a group immobilize and the powers debuff the enemy which can be quite useful.

I wouldn't really say that any defender secondary is that *much* better than any other for an empath tho and I'd say stick with dark...

I think I peeped in Sirens to see what was going on but I thought it was a bit one sided (too many heroes) and after chasing some MMs (ineffectually) I left

We do play a bit of villains, mostly on Union though. Nothing particularly high level. Think we both have masterminds at 23 and then a couple of others at 21 and 17... it would be cool to team up. Although I could just bring Eat Static into Sirens and get frozen into an ice cube again or something

I'd argue that most empaths be they offenders or defenders like to press the 'healy button'. Particularly that heal aura button that keeps them alive.

I'd also argue that Empaths are ten a penny as well!
