  1. He said that, as is painfully typical, a minority of people are trying to affect every person's game because the minority are now somehow unable to play the game how they want to. At least two doooom threads have asked the devs to eliminate XP from MA because some people farm the AE and this has ruined CoX.

Well, I'm with the OP. I love i14 and would hate to see the ninnies win the day here. No, I don't farm. I play other arcs and work on my own. Other than the fixes to clear bugs and improve arc creation, the only change I want to see is to give MA's a mission complete bonus.

    Say "no" to the ninnies.

I didn't get very far into this one. Playing as my 39 Fire/Fire Brute I was just getting hammered constantly, with the Ninjitsu and the Broadsword just taking me out within a few seconds. I saved Cpl. Arizona but he didn't help much at first, but he did end up helping a little bit. After 5-6 deaths I gave up. I will try again with my 50 SR scrapper before totally calling it quits.

Thanks for trying and please note I have re-published the arc and it is now #104496. I had suspected that the hard setting may have been too much for overall enjoyment of the arc but wanted to hear a little more feedback on it. They've all been edited down to standard , which I think might make the arc more accessible to more toons and lower levels. In this vein, I also knocked the ninja archer down to AR/dev because, well, she really was just brutal. I'd love to hear how your fire/fire fares under the new settings.
  3. GadgetDon said: "The name was chosen to make fun of the panic about "I14 will be used for farming" during test, but it's just a silly arc that takes place on a farm. It even got hit with Dev Choice."

So, I'm trying to figure out how an arc that violates the rules can become a Dev's Choice arc, and how a Dev's Choice arc can be banned. Anyone?
  4. Bubba, I just finished up Matchstick Women and rated it a four. I especially liked the characters and your design. Regarding the story, I like the concept and appreciate the attempt to set a mood; you succeed, to a degree. In the effort to set a mood, however, your language bogs down the narrative. It read to me like you were making extra effort at writing in a gothic and/or epic prose. I think you could have accomplished the desired affect using simpler language.

If you'd like to take a shot at mine, it's:

The mentality that an arc deserves either five stars if it's good, or one star if it's not good (or zero for complete jerkoffs) doesn't help any.

Five stars should be the best of the best, the cream of the crop, the cat's pajamas(?). Four stars, in a world where ratings were fair and accurate, is still quite good.

Amen. I saw one arc review where the reviewer said the narrative was lacking in terms of immersion, then gave the arc 5 stars. I'll round up if I believe the arc is a "X.5," but not if X=4. Unless an arc wins in all of the categories I think are important, a 4 is the highest rating I can give. BUT!

A 4 is very, very good.
  6. That could explain the seven versions of one arc I saw over three pages.
  7. Since publishing my first arc at 7:13pm and 8:21pmEST this evening, 390 additional stories were published. That's a bunch. It would appear that not only are the majority of arcs doomed to obscurity, but promoting one's arc is likely to get lost in a sea of promotion, as well.

Anyway, my arc is in my signature; you can play it if you'd like.
  8. Okay, I'm pretty much relegated to the idea that what I am trying to do is likely not available at the moment, but I'm putting this out there on the chance someone has a trick to help me (or maybe just has seen what I cannot seem to).

Final mission and I intend to trigger an EB after the boss is defeated. Preferably, the EB spawns in the same final room as the boss for the obvious reason that having to search for him spoils the flow. Although the EB is set to spawn in "back" of the map (same as the boss), he tends to spawn closer to the middle of the map. Even if it is technically the back of the map, it's defnitely a ways away from the last room. I had hoped I could correct this by having the EB appear in an ambush, but ambush teams do not appear to be customizable. So, am I missing something or do I just have to make do? Also, if there is an alternative that will address my "get thee into the last room, EB" problem, I would appreciate hearing it.
  9. I was hoping to use the heist maps with the alarm sensors but cannot seem to find them. Are they available and, if so, what map group are they found in?
  10. My critique of this guide is that while it may be useful if I was looking to create the OP's character, it is not particularly helpful as a guide for dark/rad defenders in general.
  11. The search is over! I know where all of the spirits are! They're in my Blood Ruby radio mish. All spirit, all the time.

See? No bug. I just need to let them out of this office building...

I love this event! Zombie Appocalypse baby!!!

For happy news, at least for me and around 8 others:

Last night I got on my badger and went looking for Jack. I thought it might make a difference if I checked all the zones in which he spawns, so I searched all spots in IP and Talos. Finding myself incredibly bored, I dropped that line of attack and headed to PI. Found Eochai and some teammates who shared my determination to find the big dope. Killed Eochai, went hunting and BAM! there was Jack!!! It was a wonderful time.

    Regarding the Tier 3 Insps:
I honestly don't see the big deal. I mean, Tier 3s are nice and all but my game experience is not slighted in the least by only receiving Tier 1s. The sliding chance scale that somebody mentioned earlier would be nice, but again, not necessary to me. My opinion on the matter was solidified after reading a couple posts from people who were disappointed in the change to Tier 1s for the sole reason that they were hoping to horde Tier 3s and sell them at an inflated rate later on. Eff doze peeps, yo.

Love the apocalypseseses, love the Nightmares, love the ease in which the badges come, and I just generally love the event.
  13. The black font on blue background is difficult to read.
  14. You all have to admit there is something slightly amusing about opening a discussion thread about a topic in which no details have been given.

I think the devs got a great deal on cassette tapes, typewriters and grammaphones and are going to combine them all for a multi-media extravaganza the like of which has never been witnessed by man. Or, its that live talk thing they mentioned a ways back.
