"Fool," the male demon said.
With a wave of his staff, the fields protecting them adjusted and strengthened.
Chiyoko stepped up next to Allen.
"Why don't you try shooting it with one of your own weapons? The mage and Ryuji don't seem to have any problems hitting them," she said. -
The Behemoth overlord swung its claw.
If it weren't for the power of Chiyoko, this demon would be un-summoned or worse.
Luckily for the mage, all the female could do was knock it back several yards, before ripping its wings off.
Ryuji used this oppurtunity to launch another set of ice darts at the demon. One landed, and began to slowly spread.
"Mage, as much as I hate it, we have to work together," Ryuji said, noticing the others were too far away to help. -
"British movies bore me, and I've already seen the American movies they have playing," Asuka said, "If only Monty Python was still making movies..."

((well, i thought of Shinji already being there and racing someone on Wangan or something, but I'm still thinkin of hwo the demons can interrupt the race or somethin like that))

(OOC: Well, Tokyo's in ruins and has been for three weeks as of this RP. That, and the demons are confined to Tokyo)
The female demon rose into the air. With speed that could only be described as inhuman, she was right in front of the mage.
"I sense a powerful dark energy within you," she purred, "Would you like to come to our world? Serve our master for eternity?"
"Don't do it!" came Ryuji's voice, followed by a storm of ice darts aimed at the demon.
She caught the darts easily, and dropped them to the ground. -
(OOC: Fixed it)
Reishi left the arena, glad to finally be able to relax.
She relaxed in a chair, when an arena official walked up to her.
"Excuse me, miss, but a young lady dropped this off for you. She said you should probably use it," he said, presenting a small jewelry case to her.
Reishi took the case and opened it. Inside was a silver earring with a red gem set into it.
"Kamui..." she said, reluctantly putting the earring one.
With this, if she ran into something like that Drone thing again, he wouldn't be able to leave the arena in one piece. That is, if she could overcome her stubbornness long enough to actually use it. -
The zombies made it close enough, their sheer numbers seemingly providing an advantage, but then she sang.
One note, one powerful, consuming note, sang out. The zombies didn't turn to dust like they would have before, they were merely flung backwards about 100 feet.
The staff-wielding demon held up his staff again, and wisps of energy spun around the zombies.
These guys were powerful indeed. -
Reishi was glad for the draw. Ninja's were a pain to fight, especially ones that were good at it. She just wished there were about a dozen more, because everyone knew a dozen ninjas were weaker than one.
(OOC: Had to put that last part in)

(OOC: Just have your character land somehow, or already be there. There's a staging area in Tokyo Bay, and a train line connecting to other parts of Japan. Shinjuku hasn't had a lot of action and Akihabara is currently under siege.
Only thing I ask is no demons. Demonic energy is blocked out by the shields) -

no but you just gave me a kickass way to make Sakura and Miyu a reality...

Awesome, that makes me happy.

yeah...now if only there was a way to make a fire blast/ice control character -
(OOC: AW COME ON! That's the essence of Anti-climactic.
And how'd I know you'd set off an explosion?)
Luckily, the moment Reishi was dropped, she had made a move for the barrel. Her neck hurt, but it was nothing new.
"Oh boy, another crater..." she said.
Despite her innate ability to actually grow stronger as a fight progressed, she had a headache from that fight.
"Hey you ninja guys, wanna just call it a three way draw?" she asked.
Knowing how much she could trust a ninja to stop fighting, she was prepared for an attack...just in case. -
(OOC: Can't I just toss him out of the arena?)
-
(OOC: So what's he made of then? You mentioned titanium, but titanium isn't impervious to damage.)
-
(OOC: So how the hell are we supposed to fight? If it's impervious to physical damage why would it be allowed to fight in the arena? That's like setting up a solid titanium brick in the center of the arena and telling the combatants to destroy it)
-
(OOC: My Hitomi-Lei Fang tag team cannot be beat.
Ever.
Seriously don't even try) -
"Gotcha," she said.
She grasped his arm, slammed the elbow joint, put her feet against his chest, and pushed with all her might.
She launched off him, and his arm came with her, severed at the elbow joint.
"I am a student of over one hundred styles of martial arts. If it were physically possible without breaking the bar, I coul bench press semi trucks," she announced, and tossed the arm to the other side of the arena, "All moving things have joints, and that's the weakest part of them. Robotics scientists have been trying to strengthen joints for as long as they've had robotic limbs. Unfortunately, you've hit me a few too many times for your own good," she grinned, "The longer a battle lasts, the more I face an enemy, the stronger I become, even though it's usually temporary at this level. When I say I was born to fight, that's not an exaggeration." -
(OOC: One of the ones you called in that I mentioned scrapping earlier. You mentioned circuitry and hitting it would cause an electric shock, remember. And at the velocity it was thrown, it doesn't matter what something's made of, one or both would be dented or damaged enough for it to be attached to the other.)
"What? What was that? A hit? C'mon!" Reishi recovered from the blow easily. She had been hit by trains before, it hurt at first and still hurt, but she had adapted.
Looking around, she noticed an empty barrel as well as the significant amount of water from earlier.
"HEY! Rai and Shinji! Short this [censored] out! Or at least divert the flow of electricity!" she called. -
Reishi hoisted a girder with a bot attached to it.
She then proceeded to hurl the girder at Drone.
The girder slammed into him, lodging itself inside.
She then pounded the end of the girder sticking out into the ground, which caused the girder to function as...well, to function as a ground for the massive current of electrictity.
Reishi stepped back and grinned. -
(OOC: OK, some backround: In the CoH/CoV universe, the Rikti war was *supposedly* a massive global conflict. Cities attacked in the same way as Paragon and the like. Now, a couple things have bothered me:
1) We never hear about what happened to cities outside Paragon. What happened to all those other countries?
2) Aside from aliens and robots, everyone should have memories of the war. I'm sure the stories are out there.
The purpose of this thread is to give people a place to place and read the Rikti War Stories. I also encourage people to be creative and use a character NOT from Paragon or the Rogue Isles
Anyway, my first story is Ukyo Sae's. Perhaps later I'll write out Bright Star's.)
"Sae-chan! Wake up!" came a warm, yet stern voice.
At first, Ukyo Sae, age fourteen, thought it was part of her dream.
"I don't wanna work today, old lady..." she mumbled.
"OLD LADY?! I'm still in my thirties you good-for-nothing daughter!" Sae's mother flipped over the futon, smashing her.
"Aah! Mom! S-sorry..." Sae said sleepily, pulling the futon off herself.
She got up and made her way to the tiny bathroom. Looking in the mirror, she pushed her dyed-blonde hair out of her eyes and began the morning ritual of teeth brushing, face washing, hair styling, and make-up applying. Then, her mom came in with a wash rag and made that last one disappear.
"No make-up at school, Sae-chan," he mother chuckled.
Sae just grumbled and started changing into her uniform.
She had no idea just how long it would be before she'd change out of that uniform.
Grabbing her bag and a piece of toast, she began the trudge to school. It was a short ride to the school's train stop, as always. Due to her mother's insistance on getting her up early, Sae was the first one in the classroom, even after having stopped by a convenience store to purchase some bread for breakfast.
She reclined in her assigned chair, and watched as the other students began to arrive.
It seemed like a fairly normal day...May 24th, 2002 (OOC: The date's correct)
However, at about ten thirty, during History class, the entire school's attention was drawn to a collection of flickering lights hovering above the city, one not more than a few kilometers away from the school itself.
Three hours of questions and worries passed. Radios tuned to news networks, and NHK was in a frenzy.
Then...they came through.
The city was in turmoil. The SDF mobilized, but was powerless against the Rikti.
Troops poured out from the portal closest to the school, resulting in blood curdling screams of dying agony reaching the students of the school.
Naturally, the surrounding areas were evacuated in moments to take refuge at the school, which the SDF positioned themselves to protect at all costs.
All seemed lost, however, as the Rikti began to advance upon the soldiers.
The students scrambled and hid under their desks, not that it would do any good. Fear gripped their small bodies. Fear for themselves, fear for their families. Some tried to leave...but Sae knew better.
"Everyone stay under your seats!" she exclaimed. That day, no one from the second year Pomegranate class would die, because Sae didn't even let them leave the room. Not that they could, she blockaded it when she left to face the Rikti herself.
She had no idea what she was doing. She was just one girl! Sure, she was pretty good at sports and had good grades, but she was just a girl!
In the courtyard of the school, a battle ensued between a group of heroes that had made it to the school, and the invading army.
One of the heroes caught her eye.
It's him! she thought, Yukito-kun!
Standing there, blushing, she didn't notice the Rikti aiming for her...
Yukito had been her boyfriend. Her first love. He was a few years older than her, and had obtained a hero license in Paragon City. He would show it off to all the girls, obviously using it as a tool to get into their pants.
Until he met Sae. She seemed...different. When she asked him to stop hitting on girls with his hero license, he had seen an honesty, a conviction in her eyes that told him...don't say no.
Soon after, they began dating. He joined a local hero group, and she continued to go to school and play the doting girlfriend. One day she hoped he'd even be her first...
One round from a Rikti rifle changed that.
Sae watched Yukito's limp, burned body hit the ground, his sword that he valued so dearly falling at her feet.
"Kyotsuk...ette..." escaped his lips. He couldn't even take a dying breath, his lungs were disintegrated. He just lay there, lifeless. Her first love, dead before her eyes.
Most girls would turn into a nervous wreck, shout "NO!" and cradle the dead body. Most girls would get shot about now.
Sae was not most girls. She had no metahuman powers, she had no formal training. All she had was rage, and faith.
She grasped her dead boyfriend's sword, and hefted it. It felt light, and it seemed to...accept her? What was this sword?
She didn't care. The Rikti that had killed Yukito didn't live long after that.
It was quite a sight for the arriving refugees and soldiers.
One girl, with tears streaming down her face, standing amongst a mass of Rikti and human corpses. Not one Rikti corpse lay behind her.
Thus began Ukyo Sae's life as a warrior, protector, and leader.
To be continued... -
(OOC: If the scout drone was listening, it should be toast now. Anything with auditory receptors should have them fried.)
Reishi continued destroying anything and everything mechanical within the arena, leaving only the Drone in his bubble.
If he came out, she'd rip him apart. There was no doubt about that, she hated cowards who hid. -
(OOC: I designed Reishi based on Hitomi's physical design from DOA3+. Her powers are adaptation and regeneration. She's not technically super strong by default, she worked her way up there. Her ridiculous toughness comes from her body adapting to pressure. By extension, her bones are harder to break and she's essentially running around with 6 slotted Quick Recovery and Stamina pre-ED
)
-
Quickly, Reishi reached into her pocket and pulled out two specially designed earplugs designed to block out all sound. She then picked up two large girders and slammed them together.
The resulting shockwave SHOULD penetrate the forcefield. After all, Reishi's voice had.
Just to be sure, she turned around and jammed one of the girders into one of the bots like a spear, and did the same with another. -
Reishi whispered into Rai's ear.
"He heard me, that means that SOUND passes through his bubble! If sound passes through his bubble, we just need to generate a sonic boom!"
(OOC: That was what I call a 'loaded question')
-
"You have no idea how much I can sell my old clothes for..." she said, "I once had a pair of jeans that got thrashed during a job, I sold them for six times what I paid for them!"
(OOC: Heh, wanna talk expensive clothes? Get this: place near where I work sells jeans, regular jeans, with holes cut into them and cheap CHEAP pieces of leather sewn into the holes for 600 bucks.) -
(OOC: They're not in the cave, they're just outside your bubble behind you. If they weren't fast enough to run Reishi carried them.)
Reishi began slamming her fists into ground around the bubble.
"So...that shield blocks anything from getting in, right?" she asked. -

((Paging 3 powerful demons to Ginza if you please. One for each of our main chracters))
[/ QUOTE ]
(OOC: Um, only 3?)
With the trash gone, they descended. Seven powerful demons, once human priests and priestesses.
They appeared similar to Vharsuun, except each had large wings, and varying body types.
The crawler's weapons had no effect. Eichiro's hammer and ZERO's guns had no effect. Un-blessed weaponry didn't make it past their shields, and blessed weaponry didn't even cracked their armor.
They landed, and spook in unison.
"Come with us...come to our world." was chanted numerous times.
Two of the demons stepped forward, one appeared to be female, and one was male bearing a large staff. The male raised his staff, and a black energy emanated from it, zapping each and every SDF soldier present, and moments later they rose again.
The female began to sing a haunting, powerful note. In front of her, one of the crawlers was lifted, turned upside down, and smashed into the ground.
The other five stood back and watched.
(OOC: Yes, Allen and the mage can hurt these guys, as well as my characters. And these aren't the only priest(esse)s turned demon)
