  1. Reishi's grin grew wider. She loved it when toys played rough.
Picking up her sword, she threw the tremendous sword with great strength towards the mecha's chassis.
If it hit, it would stay there. And it wasn't likely to miss.

((About that....are we waiting for me to post something? Cause I don't know what's suppose to go in an exhibition match ))

OOC: Who's the GM for the next fight?

    [/ QUOTE ]
(OOC: Either you, burning, or star scout's player (sorry forgot the name >_&lt I'd volunteer to do it again but I doubt my gladiators would stand to be barred from another official match
And have we had any developments in the battle against the mecha?)
  4. (OOC: No...sorry
exhibition matches don't have GMs, only official ones do.
exhibition matches basically only have the "no lethal force" rule)
  5. (OOC: O_O ok i wanna fight your guys now...LOL)
  6. Asuka walked in the door carrying a full plate of breakfast. It looked expertly cooked by a professional chef.
It should, she ripped it off from a five-star restaurant nearby.
She sat down and began to enjoy her breakfast.
"Hm, good french toast...glad something good comes from that country..." she muttered. Asuka didn't particularly like Western Europe in general.

(OOC: I did tell you I placed a lot of emphasis on the mediporters. Technically speaking you were teleported out before you even hit the ground.
Also soviet: if Reikoff is the master, he can't fight. Ever. Gladiators can't enter the arena without a Master sponsor, so unless Reikoff gets another Master to sponsor him, which is against the rules, he can't even physically enter the arena.)

Annette's portrait appeared on a large screen overhead.
"The match is over and the winner is clear! Show your appreciation for Chertak, Star Scout, and Burning Brawler!" she announced, smiling widely.

(OOC: OK, someone from that team is now the GM and is unable to enter the next 'official' match, but is free to enter exhibition matches. I'll let you guys decide. Whoever it is picks the next scenario and is free to manipulate the limiter, so long as you remember NO lethal force.
And to clarify the bullet thing: the kinetic limiter doesn't allow things over a certain damage index. So a bullet made of lead will hurt as much as a bullet made of rubber. Naturally, this makes high powered rifles completely useless compared to other guns except for accuracy improvement.)
  8. Meanwhile in Annette's private room, Tetsuko and Ryuji were watching the ensuing battle while El Guapo Grande slept.
"Oooooo I SO want to take that Rikti apart and see what makes him tick! It'd be...." Tetsuko started to drool uncontrollably.
"Not all Rikti are robots, Nomura..." Ryuji said.
    "So?" she stated.
  9. (OOC: Reishi's blade is about as sharp as physically possible and as previously mentioned, with the limiters off she can punch a hole straight through a building...with concentration of course)
She saw the lumbering mecha swing for the other fighters. In a single 'leap', she was in front of them, catching the attacking arm with her hands, her blade driven into the ground next to her.
"Child's play," she said. The only semblance of difficult she had was, even though she was immensely strong, she wasn't immensely heavy, so the mecha's fist stood a chance of knocking her away.

"She's playing," Sae observed from the ballroom, "She's not taking this seriously at all."
"Of course not, you've seen her cut loose...it's not pretty," Annette smirked.
  10. "Boss..." Reishi said, anxiously.
"Right..." she wheeled over close to Reishi's ear, where the earring representing her blade, Kamui was situated, "I hearby allow the release of Kamui, Blade of God for the destruction of one target."
The stone glowed and Reishi reached up and pulled out a glowing light that formed into a truly enormous sword. The blade alone was about six feet long.
"You know how our mediporter technology lets us teleport our gladiators OUT of the arena, right? Well, it's not too far of a stretch to say it works the other way," Annette said, hitting a small button that sent Reishi into the arena.
Reishi was about to prove why they put the limiter in place.
She began by executing a horizontal strike right below the mech's shoulders.
Both arms fell to the ground.
"Name's Tenryuu Reishi!" she announced, "Yoroshiku ne"
  11. (OOC: What's interesting is Shinae is a phaser...meaning it could STILL go either way )
  12. The delightful dinner was interrupted by a beeping on Annette and Ryjuta's wristwatch, a watch issued to all the Masters that went off any time a match began.
The view screen switched to Ian and Jase's fight against the mecha.
Reishi watched the battle unfold and looked like a dog hungry for a bone.
"Boss, ya GOTTA let me go fight those guys!" she said.
"Not until we turn the limiter back on. Without it there's a strong chance you could kill them," Annette replied. Her tone had a lot of absolution in it. Reishi was a voracious fighter, and had a tendency to get carried away in battle. In fact, she was the guinea pig for a lot of the limiter technology. Even now they were beta testing a type of reverse limiter with her, that made attacks pack MORE of a wallop against her.
However, fighters with super strength and fast healing were a dime a dozen. What Reishi had that made her different was finesse. For example, the average possessor of super strength could punch a gigantic hole in a building or lift a car. Reishi could punch a fist-sized hole through a building or even wield a car like a club. Control was her advantage. Super strength is powerful, but unfocused. Reishi learned to focus that strength to become one of the most powerful one-on-one duelers on the planet.
  13. (OOC: Which is what exhibition matches are for. While our rules require a GM for official matches, it's unnecessary for an exhibition)
  14. "There's also ways you could make it so he can't do battle to begin with. If you set the kinetic limiter regarding 'blunt objects' low enough, his punches won't do squat. The same works for sharp objects," Annette suggested.
  15. Asuka had a sudden idea after seeing the newcomer fiddling with the laptop.
    Computer crime! Of course!!!
HeroCorps did have a computer crime division, and an attack on them would generate a lot of paperwork for Ms. Liberty if it did odd-ball damage...

She began typing a message to her tech-expert friend, Tetsuko.
  16. "Well...if he favors close range attacks we could use the repel function on the bands. Observe," she explained, pressing a button on a small device in her hand.
Without warning, Reishi and Sae, who were standing a few feet apart, were flung with tremendous force across the ballroom in opposite directions, away from one another.
"I don't favor this battle mode because it promotes the use of guns, but it's ideal for archers and spell casters."
    "Ow..." Reishi said.
    Sae looked dazed.
  17. "Hmmm," Annette thought to herself, "There IS a way that can happen. You could attack Ian's ego by having him go up against someone he THINKS is much weaker than he is and then having his rear end handed to him repeatedly. If he loses to many people on the same team, his confidence will be shot and cause him to continue to lose."
Annette sipped her tea and continued, "I'd recomend you specifically ask for Reishi here to face him in a one on one match."

  19. Reishi, one of Annette's gladiators present, stepped forward.
"I assure you than any battle with us will have an equal chance of losing or winning...if he's inexperienced I'd lean more towards the 'losing' side," Reishi grinned.
"My gladiators may all be rather young in comparison to yours, but they all have real world battle experience. Reishi and Tetsuko fought in the Rikti war, El Guapo Grande has been in a really bizarre number of conflicts, and Sae here fought in the war against the demons that sieged Tokyo," Annette explained.
  20. "Exhibition matches like the one against the thugs may be fixed. It creates drama and tension, since a lot of fighters tend to just roll over the competition. However," Annette turned deadly serious, "Don't even THINK of rigging official matches. The Grandmaster frowns on such behavior."
"And don't worry about the wine," Chihaya, the miko standing off to the side, cut in, "I'm here to hold up a barrier to prevent poisoning. An-chan doesn't believe in poisoning or cheating."
Annette nodded to the miko and went back to the question, "The purpose of this arena is to give warriors a fair place to fight, and to give the audience something to cheer about. Not to mention earn us a bit of cash."
(OOC: Chihaya isn't a gladiator, she's technically an employee of Annette's, and a friend of her gladiators. Officially, she works for the arena helping maintain the limiter.)
  21. Annette hit a button and a large screen came out of the ceiling between the two. On screen was the fight in the arena, with commentary.

"Now...you're rather new to the Trust, so I thought I'd ask you...what do you think the purpose of this arena is?" Annette asked.
  22. (OOC: Ah...well you also assume Asuka would look at your arm...)
    Asuka massaged her temples.
"Press the button on the front with the arrow on it then just lift up the top," she said.
Between the condescending new employer and the roundabout way of doing said job...she had a headache.
  23. "Would you like to watch the battle currently taking place? All the ballrooms here come equipped with display screens," Annette said.
