Artic Sun - I'd really like to know if we can ONLY use known Praetorians or if we can create our own (eg Copper Shield as the Praetorian Blue Steel).
[/ QUOTE ]
hmmm, i'd think praetorian blue steel would be Red Iron....
[/ QUOTE ]
It could be, if you were just going for opposites or related subjects. (Okay, iron isn't an opposite to steel, I know...)
However, a copper shield was the original representation of being a lawman and the reason we call police 'cops' today. Having Blue Steel's opposite as Copper Shield calls back to this law theme while suggesting that perhaps this Praetorian takes the law way too seriously.
Alternatively, he hides behind / uses his copper shield while doing the most brutal and corrupt things. It's a nice (imo, and if I do say so myself) image that shows Blue Steel through a dark mirror.
[/ QUOTE ]
Meanwhile "Red Iron" would invoke thoughts of not only being the opposite of Blue, but also being communist
[/ QUOTE ]
Acctually, just being the name Red Iron makes me think of super heated iron about to be forged. Or rust. Nothing lawman like.

I'm still failing to see the police officer in that. But I guess that's just me then.

KGB -
(OOC: Well, if we just started it without the GM picking the rules, it'd be breaking the rules)

Asuka took out her cellphone and hit her speed dial.
"It's me. Set-up plan 45a, large building entryway, four traps," she said.
Not long after, a Tony's Terrific Tacos truck pulled up to the building and went to work. In a mere ten minutes the traps were set up.
They were sophisticated traps designed to respond to Ms. Liberty's DNA only. (OOC: The plans are broken down based on targets. 45 is the designation for Vindicators and "a" is the modifier for Ms. Liberty)
One was on the doorknob of the room itself, which was wired to the building's electrical system. If she touched it, she'd get an electric shock.
Two more were on the elevator and stairs. The elevator trap was simple: the elevator would stop for five minutes and gas would fill the car. If she tried to exit the elevator through the emergency exits, the car would simply drop. Since it was rigged to stop about four floors up, the drop would likely knock her out. The staircase had a slightly more advanced trap: the doors would lock and the entire stairway would fill with gas.
The doors would not lock, however, until she had been in the stairway for thirty seconds. As an added precaution, the staircase had been covered with oil, making them incredibly slick and, of course, flammable.
The gas itself was scentless and highly effective.
If she somehow made it to the floor right before the electric charged door were a series of dart launchers.
The fact that this took ten minutes for about eight guys to set up was beyond impressive. It was superhuman. Three of them had super-speed, one was a cyborg, and the other four were super-geniuses at electronics. -

"You try that again and I'll show you the business end of a quantum gun," Asuka spat, "She'll still be able to hear us, smell us. At least let me set up some traps at the entrance before she reaches the room. You need to have plans on top of plans and relying on us beating one of the most reknowned heroes in the WORLD as Plan A is simply folly. You seem to have strange priorities. On one hand you underestimate us, thinking us amateurs and incapable of performing simple tasks. On the other hand you have us going up against an A-List Vindicator! It's quite obvious you think we're expendable cannon fodder so what's the harm in having me set up my own traps that have worked on dozens of occasions?"
-
"At what point did I imply a single form of poison? I have easy access to several forms that can be put onto needles, and some that are gaseous," Asuka explained, "I think it would be an absolutely terrible idea to let her see our faces AT ALL given heroes tremendous tendency to have old memories blocked by external means unblocked. I should know, since it happened to me."

ya know Arctic as soon as you mentioned your evil twin with a goatee I thought of Space Ghost and his evil twin Chad.

or that one south park episode...
or the star trek episode "Mirror Mirror" -
Reishi twisted the sword to ensure it stayed lodged into the mecha, and to do a bit of extra damage to its insides. She then launched herself off, kicking the mecha with a good deal of force.
-
"Or we could drug her before she ever sees us and take it then, and then just bring both bodies back to a random location rather than having to fight the leader of the HeroCorps." Asuka said, dropping the girl.
-
thanks artic
now for my compelling epic about what exactly the opposite of an anti-hero/anti-villain is
Being pure evil is ridiculous and being pure good is lame
i mean, even statesman is a jerk -
Asuka accepted...not like she had a choice anyway.
She kept one arm wrapped around the target and one on her sword's hilt on her back just in case -
Asuka took out a small needle from her vest and, in the blink of an eye, pricked Dana in the neck with it.
The needle had a fast acting sleeping poison on it, but Asuka had also pricked her in an acupuncture point that would induce drowsiness.
Quietly, Asuka hit the button for the top floor.
It was HIGHLY unlikely the elevator would stop before then given she was going up and it was an apartment complex.
In any case, she was prepared to deal with anyone who walked in. -
Asuka made it to the apartment building reasonably fast.
She entered the building and saw an elevator
Knowing that most people going to work would prefer an elevator to several flights of stairs, she entered the elevator and waited.
Just to be sure she used some industrial adhesive on the frame of the stairway door, discretely. -

so an anti-hero does the right thing for the wrong reasons and an anti-villain does the wrong thing for the right reasons? -

Reishi got what she needed: her sword. It had been lodged in the mecha.
Since she was already at point blank range, she drove the sword into the mecha's chest. -
The dust cleared and Reishi was still standing, her clothes singed and wounds healing.
"That tickled," she said.
In a blur of motion she was in front of the mecha, her fist driving into the chassis, knocking it down and leaving a large hole in the chest. -
[ QUOTE ]
This time, as Reishi stopped the punch the mech continued the attack by launching the fist from its wrist as if it was severed but a thick robotic tentacle kept it attached. It was like a double punch and she only stopped the first. The heavy mech fist would forced her to violently slam into one of the metal walls with a loud clank if she couldn't stop it again.
[/ QUOTE ]
(OOC: that one) -
Reishi easily kicked the launched fist straight up into the air, angling it back towards the mecha. (OOC: If the connection is solid, the arm will fly up and probably snap off. If it's like wires, well, imagine kicking a soccer ball at someone and them kicking it straight into the air)
-
Reishi rolled her eyes.
"Don't take it personal," she said flatly, "Yer the least likely...thing...here to die if you get shot. With the limiter off, I have ta take what gets thrown at me. Literally."
Just then the Mecha tried another attack with its arm, meeting Reishi's fist instead. -
Reishi easily caught the shield, despite its size, and proceeded to use it as its function...a shield...against the incoming barrage.
Once the barrage finished, she threw the shield back at the mecha -
"I'll go fetch her then," Asuka said as she turned to leave the room.
