Bumping this thread to say I'm not planning to host anything this coming Sunday (2/12). Hopefully I'll be back at it next week.
-
Only got four runs this week, and 7/16 nightmares, but we did get the two we were missing from the last couple weeks (Eochai and Jurassik), and about half of us got the badge(s).
Grats to all who got badges, and thanks to everybody for coming out. -
-
One more time; hopefully we get most people who have been around the last couple weeks the badge this time.
For anyone who doesn't know what this is, I'll be hosting runs of the first phase of MoM, defeating the various Nightmares for the Dreamwalker badge. We'll defeat the three Nightmares and Malaise for the astral merit, break up, regroup, and repeat as long as we can get 8 people. Last two weeks, we got 11/16 and 10/16 Nightmares respectively and 14/16 total.
(Sorry for the late post; wasn't sure I was going to be able to make it this Sunday.)
The 16 Nightmares needed are:
- Adamastor
- Avatar of Hamidon
- Babbage
- Bat'Zul
- Caleb
- Crystal Titan
- Deathsurge
- Eochai
- Jack in Irons
- Jurassik
- Kronos
- Lanaru the Crazed
- Lichen-Infested War Walker
- Lord Winter
- Paladin
- Ruladak the Strong
As far as I know, there's no way to check which ones you have, so you'll have to keep track on your own.
In the interest of keeping things simple, I'll just focus on the Nightmares phase this week rather than trying to do a full trial afterward.
Experience with the trial isn't needed; after a couple runs you should be an expert on the first phase of the trial. All the archvillains in the trial are 54+2, so level shifts are very nice to have.

I rerolled a kat/sr as db/sr when Dual Blades came out, but she was level 2 and just out of the tutorial so it wasn't a deal. If I were starting the game today, my ice/storm troller would be elec/storm, but I don't have any real desire to reroll her as such. Maybe create a separate one, though.
As for my main, no. I started from the concept of "she shoots lightning at her enemies" and landed on elec/elec blaster, which... yeah, that's about perfect. Closest I've come to rerolling is creating her Praetorian counterpart, an elec/elec dom. -
We got in five runs this week. The fifth, we ran out of time against the second nightmare; on the bright side, the first nightmare that run was Lanaru.
We got 10/16 Nightmares this week (would have been 11/16 if we'd had another minute against Bat'zul), including three that we missed last week (Adamastor, Lanaru, and Lord Winter), leaving Eochai and Jurassik.
Thanks to everyone for coming out again, and grats to anyone who got the badge (I don't think anyone announced it, but who knows).
-
Home now. I'll be there; ~half an hour to go.
-
Something's come up that will keep me away from my computer early this afternoon. It doesn't sound like it'll take so long that I'll be late to this, but in case it does, I apologize in advance.
If I am late/absent and someone else is willing to lead, go ahead; I have the badge on my main, so don't worry about me
Hopefully that won't happen and I'll be in Pocket D as planned. -
I'll be in Pocket D in 24 hours or so, and shouting out on globals. Hope to see you all there.

Once again, this Sunday I'll be hosting runs of the first phase of MoM, defeating the various Nightmares for the Dreamwalker badge. We'll defeat the three Nightmares and Malaise for the astral merit, break up, regroup, and repeat as long as we can get 8 people. Last week, we got in at least 7 runs and defeated 11 of the 16 Nightmares.
The 16 Nightmares needed are:
- Adamastor
- Avatar of Hamidon
- Babbage
- Bat'Zul
- Caleb
- Crystal Titan
- Deathsurge
- Eochai

I didn't keep count of the runs we did, I think 7 Nightmares runs then a full attempt. We got 11/16, only missing Adamastor, Eochai, Jurassik, Lanaruu, and Lord Winter. For the full run, we got through the first three phases before a lack of mezzes doomed us. (I'm out of practice. Juggling three games is hard.)
We had a few people get their Dreamwalker badge today; grats to them. I'm probably going to do this again next week for those who still need Nightmares. -
Just under half an hour till I'll start forming.
-
Well, I can't guarantee we'll get all of them, but we can get you a good start
Quote:I nailed Dreamwalker a few days ago, so won't be needing to join this farm. But, best of luck to those who join -- for it is luck that matters. The RNG can be a cruel mistress. And yeah, as long as you can do it at all, it's all down to running it enough to get the full collection. (Running the calculations, it's just over 17 runs on average to get them all, assuming it's completely random with even chances and you defeat all three nightmares each time.)
------
And with that, it's about 24 hours to forming time. See you all in Pocket D. -
Sorry for not getting this up sooner; it's been a weird week.
Anyway, this Sunday I'll be hosting runs of the first phase of MoM, defeating the various Nightmares for the Dreamwalker badge. We'll defeat the three Nightmares (or two if no one needs the third), break up, regroup, and repeat as long as we can get 8 people.
The 16 Nightmares needed are:
- Adamastor
- Avatar of Hamidon
- Babbage
- Bat'Zul
- Caleb
- Crystal Titan
- Deathsurge
- Eochai
- Jack in Irons
- Jurassik
- Kronos
- Lanaruu the Crazed
- Lichen-Infested War Walker
- Lord Winter
- Paladin
- Ruladak the Strong
If there's interest, for the last run we can stick together and finish the trial and try for the other three badges.
Experience with the trial isn't needed; after a couple runs you should be an expert on the first phase of the trial. All the archvillains in the trial are 54+2, so level shifts are very nice to have.

The Arena farm took me two nights, maybe one, starting from nearly zero (I had a little credit which I can only attibute to Amy Jonsson), solo. This was a little under a year ago. Obviously, it took longer than that to get the 400 rep badge, but I wanted those badges too...
-
There were a couple moments of panic: A couple people died after the last bomb which made me think I'd missed one, and the Avatar of Hamidon decided he's tired of people having the chance to get ready and then spike him, so he wandered in to the staging area before the cutscene happened.
Other than that, it was a fairly smooth run and we got three of the four badges, including Preservation Specialist. (The one we didn't get was Regenerate This.) Thanks to everyone who came out, and grats on the badges.
There were a couple people who missed out, so I guess I'll just have to do another Underground run before too long -
-
This is tomorrow! See you all in Pocket D.
-
Even though we're going to focus mainly on Preservation Specialist, I'm calling it a "Master of..." attempt because there's no reason not to go for two of the other badges, and the last is, more or less, luck-based. The badges are:
- Tour Guide: Don't let Desdemona's health drop below 50% at any point of the trial.
- Regenerate This: Defeat both forms of the Regenerating War Walker in under eight minutes.
- Preservation Specialist: Destroy all the Demolition Charges without letting any explode.
- Avatar Assassin: Defeat the Avatar of Hamidon while a Detonating Seedling is spawned.
If you don't need the badges but would like to help, that's great! I only ask that you be willing to give up your spot if necessary to fit in as many people who do need the badges as possible.
Experience with the Underground trial isn't necessary as long as you can read League chat and follow instructions.
I will need a backup bomb targeter/caller in case I'm leading Desdemona. (Non-melee preferred. I can help with strategy and binds.)
Meeting in Pocket D; Sunday, January 15, 3:30 PM EST.

Future Plans (Subject to change)
1/22: MoM Dreamwalker runs
If you have any requests, feel free to let me know, via in-game tell or email or PM here on the forums. And it doesn't have to be I-Trial badge runs, either. -
Mistress of Olympus is my favorite title, and it defaults to my badge title for characters where I don't have anything more specific available to them.
Avoids the Green Stuff/Master of Keyes Island Reactor were the most satisfying to get, because of all the bad luck we had getting it. (I still think we should have had it a month sooner than we did, darn mysterious server logs saying "someone" got hit.)
Blackguard holds a special place in my heart because it was the first badge I organized a run for (I'm pretty sure, anyway). In hindsight, I was probably a little over-paranoid about the possibility of PVPers attacking us, but it worked out well.
The mere existence of Going Rouge made me laugh. Payoff and Unlucky also have good writeups.
Badge art: The only two I can picture and say I like are Payoff (again, funny) and Socialite.
I used to like having Honorary Peacebringer as my Peacebringer's badge title, but then they added Guardian Angel and it was too perfect.
