Bad news ... your well off winning this. Like you been on since Beta, but so far highest ALt is lvl 34 (MedBot). All slots for both servers filled - 2 heroes and 2 villans in 20s and bulk of rest in teens ...

some recent dabbling with WoW and BF2 are unlikely to see any of my alts hits 50 in 2006

Level 15's the highest? Hmm, Flittermaus is level 14...as soon as he levels, will he be auto-exemped?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You won't be exemplared until you're level 16 or higher.

A level 15 will still gain xp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You need to watch the level spread on thisone lvl 15 with a bunch 12s means all the opposition will be set at 15 or higher, with numbers determined by toal size of TF group - things getting quite tricky if the group is bigger than 5

I have been playing with my rifle a fair bit recently because I enjoy playing a scrapper (my first one)

Does anyone else want to resurrect this? If nothing else, I could do with being promoted to leader so I can pay off the base rent at least before the sg in closed down

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd be to start this again. I had two alts as members - Lvl 12 Blaster and a Lvl 24 Tanker (previously a member of another SG which faded to nothing )

Can make most evenings or day time at weekend but would prefer a regular time - help keeps the group together and I can warn my better half that I'll be busy for an evening
  4. Any ideas on when this is taking place ? I've got a couple of alts I could use.

Hope someone with Grant Invis signs on, makes a big difference on how easy it is to complete

    HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Are we back on active duty ??
  6. [ QUOTE ]
    Yay!
Well i'll see those of you that manage to make it at 19.30 in Founders.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That gives me an extra 30 min to get MedBot to lvl 34 . If I can manage that between 6 and 7.30 I'll be there, if not good luck !

Lets understand this about PvP, there is one big rule, and that rule is PvP does not give a penalty in terms of death. This is NOT a PvP only oriented game. If i go to a PvP zone i expect a lot of things, one i do not expect is to get debt from PvP'ing. That is a major setback for a game that is not fully PvP oriented. So the opinion that if you go into a PvP zone and expect to be killed by npc's trained by a player for me is widely flawed. If we go by that reasoning, then when you are in a hazard if i happen to pass by with a herded group of npc's by you and kill you, well its a hazard zone.. bad luck. If i pass with another group of enemies and kill train them on you again, well you are on a hazard zone, bad luck for you... But this type of behaviour is considered griefing on non-pvp hazard zones. The reasoning showed by the dev's is very thin and very flawed on my point of view. The bottom line is PvP shoudnt get you debt by whatever means. This isnt a fully oriented PvP game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Quite agree that its not a full PvP game. However there are some zones where there PvP is allowed and these also contain NPCs who are hostile. The zone is a hostile zone which I take to means that anything and anyone will attack you, using NPCs against someone is just making full use of the features of the zone, so I don't think can be counted as grief.

If player uses mobs against another player in a non-PvP zone, then it is griefing. In these zones players are deamed to act in a non-hostile manner to each other.

The issue of debt is tricky and can understand that people don't like debt. Two options:

    i) have no mobs in PvP zones - but this is already the case with Arenas

ii) have no debt from mobs but also no XP as there's no risk. Not sure if this would work as it would discourage some players from entering zone as the only rewards are PvP.

I'm not a PvP but have undertaken missions and roaming mobs in such zones - I know there's a risk of ambush by other players or mobs. I take the risk for the XP or the Badge.
  8. I'd have to agree with DEVs here. Whole point of these zones is that they are much more dangerous then other others.

The idea of a villain leading a hero into a trap which consists of a group which is hostile to both individuals has been used many times, sometimes even forcing the two to team up when things go wrong for the villain

I've never been enthusiastic about the PvP thing but if you are implementing the idea then I think you have to go for the whole no holds bar approach. It may not seem nice or fair but if it's not what you want, arrange a duel in the Arena, these open areas filled with mobs are not designed for duels, they are warzones and as the saying goes - War is Hell
  9. Still going or pensioned off ?
  10. MedBot (Grav/Emp troller) is willing to go toe to toe with those Villainous ruffians - busy after 9.30 let me know if that's a problem

Is there a meeting place for this ?
  11. Any Rifles going to be on this evening ?

I hope Brother Maxim will be on after 7.30 - got a couple of lvl 12 missons - Spelunker Badge and Vaz ready or could pickup Frostfire when I hit 13

don't know if its some sort of balance but I have two of my alts as part of IRs - Brother Maxim (lvl 12 Blaster) and Captain Cymru (lvl 24 Tanker En/Inv) who has recently collected is Terminator armour from the tailor shop and now wears with great pride .... always happy to exemp down or sk someone for the good of the group

((We need a yellow face saluting to add to our messages ))
  13. Medbot - lvl 31 (oh so close to 32) Grav/Emp controller is free this Thursday, and will be there to lend a robotic hand
  14. Well Brother Maxim (lvl 12) will always be there to answer the Emperor's call. Unfortunately for this week he is engaged in a series of long range training exercise which are taking him far away for long hours.

However on Thursday he has to re-equip at home base so should be around most of that evening. Has a couple of interesting misson outlines that need resolving
    * A mystic missing in the wildnerness of Perez Park
    * Rumours of another taking up the Frostfire mantle
    * An ongoing campaign against the Ambominations led by Dr Vaz. Which currently are engaged in some serious plot against the whole city
  15. If there's space Medbot will be there - for holds and heals
  16. [ QUOTE ]

    [/ QUOTE ]

Probably wont be around for 10am run trying to get on the Katie Hannon TF. If I can I'll try for the 2pm slot
  17. [ QUOTE ]
D just posted that he's only likely to be around on Fridays and Saturdays, so if we have a regular meetup, one of those would be best to my mind. This was his idea after all!
Wednesdays are out for me, coz I just got in from work, and I'm knackered .

Any thoughts on organising a "Military Parade" for our Commander sometime this week?

I thought late Saturday afternoon might be best for catching people on-line, hopefully wouldn't take more than a few minutes. Also might give us a nice picture to post in forums
  18. Brother Maxim (lvl 12) will on-line this evening if needed for any squad missions.

Have managed to develop numerous contacts with key individuals around the city who have extensive knowledge of heratical groups and activities. All are now reachable on tactical comms frequency
  19. As a man of too many alts - might well have to learn French or German so I can fill up those unsed slots - I don't really have a prime ALT which is occupying my time, so concentrating on one over others isn't an issue.

However due to those pesky things called family and work time for playing CoH/CoV is a bit limited - or needs a bit of negotiation.

I can usally be found heroing away on Monday and Thursday, and possible Saturday or Sunday daytimes.

The regular event sounds better but I still think its worth posting here to get an improtu group together
  20. Just a short post to say thanks for the great team in Hollows last night.

Once again the Outcast who took up the title of Frostfire was dealt with, and a cave filled with Magmite abominations was cleared. The later mission was a titanic struggle between a small but valiant Imperial Rifle Squad and an Igneous horde of near inexhaustible numbers and unyielding savagery.

There is also a new convert to the cause - Captain Cymru (Inv/En Tanker Lvl 24) who has been expected into the order of Terminators and is on-call to assist whenever needed. (No problem in exemping down)
  21. [ QUOTE ]
oh thats reminded me, I have Atta waiting on Towlek, lvl 12/13, if anyone wants to join in. I'll hopefully be on at some point tonite

    [/ QUOTE ]

there will be a mighty purge in The Hollows this evening
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Any Rifles looking to team tonight? I hit 11 with my Terminator last night, and have Frostfire ready to go, so am looking for a team to get this clear with...

    For The Emperor!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm on canteen duty till 7.30 ((cooking tea )) but once my work in the mess hall is finished Brother Maxim (lvl 8) will be there to lend an assault rifle
  23. Couple of quick thoughts on tactics here.
(Yes after just one morning of missions my old war gamming persona is once again re-emerging after a slumber of many years)

As most teams will consists of AR/En Blasters with very similar power-sets I think there's a great opportunity to exploit this shared power-set. However it will all depend on us acting as a team, co-ordinating our actions and following instructions of the squad leader. Since in combat it's not possible to give out detailed instructions, I've labelled each point with a single Command word which could easily be included in a bind

    1) Artillery - Leader designates target, then on attack command, everyone hits build-up and lets loose with M30 Grenade.
I know the usual rule is never start an attack with an AoE as Blasters will get squished big time, but here with a number of AoE's being fired at the same time, in the same area and all coupled with Build-up I think there's a good chance that the number of minions in a fit state to return fire will be greatly reduced.

    2) Cover - Whoever is designed for Melee calls this, anyone in team who has 'Burst' ready locks on to them and fires once at their current target.
Burst isn't a great damage dealer but does reduce target's defences. Several hits from Burst should help out whoever has to deal with the Boss and unlike most other AR attacks doesn't cause KB.

    3) Buddy - Designate a team mate for combat to act as targeter, other team mate will use them to pick whoever they are firing at.
There is a chance of wastage here but this should bring down minions quicker with concentrated firepower. As far as I'm aware the health of a minion doesn't influence the damage they are dealing out. So its all well and good having ten minions in red/yellow, but there are still ten firing back at you.

    4) Tactical - Squad leader picks target then those with sniper, hit build up and fire on attack command. It might even be possible to follow up with an artillery strike. If enough in squad have sniper should also be possible to split into two groups. Best used against bosses who have Aoe attacks.

I think the above all have a chance to work well as there's great enthusiasm for team up with other SG members, and this common understanding about some simple group tactics will give a definite edge in most fights. I've played in many teams, and one thing I've found is that the best teams are those that work together - having a death wielding Scarpper, or blaster with power of a nuke is all well and good but if they operate as an individual the group as a whole can suffer.

These suggestions are very wargammerish but considering the concept of the group I do think its something we should at least consider, and does give the group a unqiue starting point. Doesn't have to be the controlling principal but I don't think it should be overlooked.

I have been playing in CoH/CoV since the start but don't have much experience with Blasters - a man of many alts my highest blaster is only 16 - so all you high level blasters out there be gently with your words

Remember the above are all just suggestions - feedback is essential.
  24. Med it is and will pop into Barracks (Store in Skyway) to collect my regulations Shoulder Armour
  25. Two questions:

    1) is it ok for a regular Battle Brother (AR/En) to pick Medcine pool (much like medpak in PC game Chaos Gate) ?

    2) Shoulders Tech 1 or Medieval for Battle Brother

Forever serving the Emperor - Brother Maxim
