  1. There is plenty of hard data:

    A) Brutes will have pets available.

    B) MM pets can sometimes make it harder for a Brute to build fury.

    C) Dominator pets can sometimes lead to domination building more slowly.

Certainly enough data for the op to express a concern, if only to recieve reasurance.

Also accusing someone of "childishness", wether justified or not, is insulting, and hence against message board rules.
  2. Actually the new power in the electric set is affected by fury:

Can you tell us why certain powers (Lightning Rod, Chain Induction) won't be effected by Fury? Will they be just too uber with it?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Lightning Rod power *is* affected fully by Fury. The description has been changed to reflect this.

Chain Induction is only partially affected by Fury. The initial hit is affected by the Furies Strength, however, any 'chained' blasts are not. They *are* affected by the strength of the opponent who is chaining the power, though, so an arc from an AV will be stronger than an arc from an underling by quite a margin.

  3. AoE immobs a re a bit rubbish on any AT apart from a Controller who can use it to set up an aoe contaiment attack. I respeced it out of my dom quickly enough.

Swap the aoe imob for the snipe/waterspout from the Stalker set. Make it the 4th power and move the others down one. Sorted.
  4. If it worries you a taunt aura will probably prevent the mobs from going after your pet.

    Total Focus

Yup, can't think of any good reason not to take both. Use ET first then it can be recharging whilst TF animates.
  6. Well Jack Frost practically doubled my doms damage output, so I am quite happy to have another one like that. I can send my pets away and beat some poor minion to a pulp with my fists if I need to get domination up.

As for a Brute pet, it's probably a case of try it and see what effect it has on your fury bar (probably will have an adverse effect solo but not be noticable in a team, I'm pretty sure pet attacks wont build fury).

However an aoe is great for a Brute, as is any ranged power with -fly.
  7. Actually Defense is probably better for a MM than resistance. Resistance is better when you have a good chunk of hp, a self heal and mez resistance.

With bodyguard, resistance only reduces the damage you take, your bodyguards will still take the full whack, however Defense will protect your bodyguards as well.
  8. Yes, it was like that long before MMs entered the game.
  9. No, with my dominator, not with Purple, who has yet to become aquainted with Infernal. I expect Purple Sprite will solo him as a +2 AV though.
  10. I took out Indigo easily though.
  11. Yeah, they are in Arbiter Leery's Arc. He is on Primeva next to Mu'whatisface and you need to have done a respec and be level 35+.

Ice Mistral kicked my butt, but I guess she is cold resistant.

Tried to solo Infernal last night too. he was level -1 to me but still kicked my butt.
  12. Yeah, I can solo regular EBs like Sea Witch, the downgraded AVs with thier mez resistance are another matter.

At the moment both my controller and my dominator are both level 37, and never at any level has my dominator ever gotten close to my controller in terms of damage per second.
  13. It's not so much a case of the Dominator being completly useless, it's just that they suffer badly compared to controllers.

    1. My controller has a much better damage output than my Dom.

    2. My controller never runs out of endurance, but dom frequently runs out of endurance (even with Stamina and 1-2 endrecs in most powers).

    3. My controller has enough control left in reserve to often recover a situation that is going pearshaped.

    4. My controller can solo AVs, my dom finds bosses tough.

    Elec/Elec

Even with 2 + acc you are going to be well over the accuracy cap for most mobs. 3 +acc would only be useful in PvP and against the occasional +3 boss with +def powers.

Once they get the 2 endrec powers electric brutes shouldn't need endrecs in thier attacks.

    Elec/Elec

I was thinking of keeping stamina as well as both end recovery powers, but not slotting any endreds in attacks. I usually run with 2 endreds in my shields though. I would take Conductive Shield much earlier.

I am planning on 3 slotting Health to make up for the lack of a self heal.

Power Sink might benefit more from 1 endred instead of the 3rd endmod, if you are down to the last mob.

Power Surge will probably want 1 acc and a couple of hold durations for when the power goes down with its EMP.
  16. That one was deliberate.

I realy wanted to refer to a male-chicken-up.
  17. I did say previously that you would have to be pretty nifty on the keybinds to get maximum benefit from Bodyguard.
  18. Suggested use for bodyguard:

Oops, I've accedently drawn aggro. Defend me my minions (puts a couple of pets into defensive follow).

If you never have a fowl-up you may never need it.

    Elec/Elec

The main thing going for electric melee is possible reduced endurance cost due to the drain, and the teleport-nuke (I bet its aoe is small though). I doubt the end drain is sufficient to make a sapper attack, but would support a Power Sink sapper attack

    Electic/Dark should look cool anyway.

    The Blastermind

You only need recall friend for that.
  22. I think Cold/TA would be a stronger PvP combo. The trick is to string together the TA attacks in you chain so you don't have to keep redrawning. The animations tend to keep you rooted to the spot though.

Oil Slick Arrow does not seem to knockdown as well as Ice Slick, I think it ticks more slowly. It can do serious damage to a target trapped in the burning oil though.

    Getting the fear

Everyone messes up occassionaly. It is to teach us humility.

It's usally Jack Frost in my experience who runs around aggroing everything in sight.

    Q) Why do Dominators get pets?

    A) To take the blame!
  24. Sorry about the thread necormancy, but this seemed like an appropiate place to post this:
