Did you go in singing "kill da wabbit?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope. I just kept screaming, "I said the POSSE, you idiot!! The POSSE!!". -
My "Gang War works great against EB's" theory fell apart today when I ran into Calystix.
Stupid coral.
Calystix really must of smacked the crap out of my Bruiser. -

and my over powered state ment came from it's appearance, like a clock. and if it's a buff, so it could be a mini hasten buff. imo

That appears to be Ghost Widow's patron symbol. -

Gang War seems to be set in Defensive/Follow. As soon as I or anyone following me is hit with any attack/debuff/control, the Posse attacks.
Also, I've catalouged all the powers the henchmen use (including Gang War) up to level 20. It's in the MM section, enjoy!
[/ QUOTE ]
If its set to defensive/follow, its broken, I was being attacked 2 feet from them and they were doing nothing to help, and one would get hit and the others would ignore it. Maybe this is just an issue I am having, but in the current state gang war is completely useless to me, except maybe as a PvP distraction.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've had great success with Gang War. Took down Balista-1 and Silver Mantis today without even losing a thug.
I would like to hear some Dev confirmation as to whether it is bugged or not. A lot of people seem to think it is.

Sent a PM to _Castle_, got no response (that was yesterday)
Anyone know if there is a more appropriate red name to ask?
[/ QUOTE ]
Positron seemed to be most active with MM's during CoV beta. You could try him. -
[ QUOTE ]
Since you need to target an enemy to summon the Gang War you would think they would at least start off by attacking the enemy you targeted but most of the time they just run from that enemy to stand in front of me and do nothing as I die.
[/ QUOTE ]
When I use it, they do run towards me until a foe lands an attack. Then they swarm around the target bashing on it until something else catches their attention. I will agree that they need to attack your target immediately.
If you think the Gang War AI is bad, wait until you see the Bruiser. They love to run in circles and get lodged behind every object in the room. -

There's an ongoing rumor about a Carnie MM, but frankly I doubt that's gonna happen. We're not that lucky.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not a rumor, yo!!
From ask Statesman:

Do you seriously think that there's any chance of seeing clown mastermind pets?
Clowns? NEVER. Carnival set, with clowns, strongmen and acrobats? Definitely.

To echo what others have said about the upgrade animation, it needs a change.
What about throwing them your colors?
Youve passed your initiation and have earned the right to wear our gangs colors. Wear em with pride.
Have the MM toss them a bandana and their appearance can change to have them wearing the Do-Rag. Have the enforcers tie it off around their arm (I think the they get the mask as part of the second upgrade so the theme would still fit without changing anything).
Just having the teir-1 thugs and the tuffs from Gang War wearing Do-Rags would go along way in dispelling their boy bandishness, IMHO. -
Has anyone else noticed the Enforcer's UZI not being loud enough? As in, I can barely hear it.
-
Only level 5 so far, but I really like the feel of the pistol sets. The graphics and sounds are fine and give a sense of impact when they hit.
I also noticed that the ejected shell casings have "weight" now. I.E.- I can kick shells lying on the ground. -
Since RV takes place in an alternate Atlas, doesn't it make sense to put the portal in our Atlas?
If it follows earlier CoH design standards well meet the contact in D.A.T.A. then travel all the way back to PI to access the portal. -
It's in the D.A.T.A. offices in City Hall, according to the article.

What I want to know is: Will we get a cameo from Ubelmann in RV?
[/ QUOTE ]
You mean Ubelman, right?
Sorry if you don't remember. It had to be done. -

To everyone who's having character issues here, take time to pause. This villain is a sinister, brooding Mastermind; let's call him Baron Faust. With an army of the walking dead, he scoffs at the very idea of lowering himself to work with those pitiful whelps at Arachnos! He's stolen souls, he's defeated iconic heroes, he's...lost his ferry pass! Curses!
[/ QUOTE ]
Baron Faust knew this day would come. Upon losing his ferry pass there was but one choice. Align himself with the Patron of Ferries.
He gloomily approaches her knowing what task awaits him.
Mistress Ferry. He snarled, I must reclaim my ferry pass. I will do your bidding.
Very well. Complete the task I set forth and you shall be unbound from your travel worries. She proclaimed.
Faust sets off on his daunting task. Returning hours later, he approaches once more.
I have finished the labor set forth. I now wish to claim my reward.
At this point, the Barons eyes glow with rage as he awaits his unwanted gift.
The Patron beams as she hands him a small white card. Here you are, Faust.
He can hardly believe his eyes. All this time Faust had worried that all the other villains would know his allegiance to the Ferry Patron due to some visible abomination that would somehow emasculate him. This pass could easily be placed within his Flash Gordon coin purse.
I believe I misjudged you, Mistress. He said.
How so, Baron Faust?"
All this time I was so worried about what the Ferry Pass would look like. I just didnt want it to clash with the villainous theme Im working on.
The Mistress smiled as she looked down upon him. Why? Its not like I was going to give you a big freakin mace with red lightning spraying out of it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Really, if you're so concerned about your villain's character being "tainted" by Patron Pools, you're just too uncreative to deal with it.
Not all of the Ancillary Pools fit my heroes. But you know what? I thought of ways that they could. Everyone complaining here isn't limited by the gamethey're limiting themselves.
[/ QUOTE ]
There is a huge dissimilarity between lack of imagination and the lack of tools to realize your imaginings. -
[ QUOTE ]
If I were to wax philosophical for a moment I wonder whether its the genre (super heroes), the medium (City of Heroes) or the nature of the internet which has led to a greater demand for individuality.
[/ QUOTE ]
You made a wonderful game that set the standard for customization of MMO characters.
We hunger for more. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm debating the perceived limitations or lack thereof of imagination when it comes to roleplayers.
[/ QUOTE ]
As was I. -
[ QUOTE ]
This isn't about imagination. This is about perceived control of a character. A good roleplayer can roleplay anything.
[/ QUOTE ]
I like the idea of Patrons.
I like the idea of Patron Arcs.
I like the idea of Patron Powers.
It's not that I can't make up some wild [censored] story about how these powers came to be or why I'm working for one of Recluse's henchmen.
I just don't like how the powers LOOK. I guess I can imagine that red electricity is snow or that a mace is really a Swiss Army knife, but I would prefer to not have to -
[ QUOTE ]
For me to even be able to play a character for an extended period of time (say, past level 10ish) the theme of the character has to click. The name, the bio (written down or otherwise), the powersets, the look. All these things have to mesh together *just* right. If they don't, I eventually lose interest.
[/ QUOTE ]
At least we completely agree on something. -
[ QUOTE ]
Perhaps you will have a happier life if you wait with the hate 'till you have something better than press releases to base it on. Like, say, five minutes of experience.
[/ QUOTE ]
This game has no affect on my life.
We've gotten a detailed listing of the powers and video/pics of what they look like. Test them all you want. A mace is still a mace. -
It's funny that most of the discussion in this thread has nothing to do with the OP.
-
[ QUOTE ]
What's to test aside from the hard numbers of the powers like BI, recharge, endurance cost, etc.?
[/ QUOTE ]
Purportedly, we won't need to test those either since they'll be given to us in game. -
[ QUOTE ]
My advice: Wait. Give it a try. Even if it's just half an hour to talk to one of the PPP contacts. THEN come here and post how much your artistic expression is being repressed.
[/ QUOTE ]
For the people who don't like the PPPs, there is really nothing to try.
My Stone/Stone Brute (that's based on STONE) does not want to spray anyone with chum.
My Plant/Thorns Dom (that's based on PLANTS) does not want red lightning or a big frickin' mace.
It's really that simple. -
I think he meant that you will only have one Patron, not only one contact in Grandville.
Maybe.
Hopefully.

They haven't had one of those contests in forever. Which one was it?

It was this one.
